It’s a pretty clear cut case of one toy company copying the homework of another toy company, but the upcoming Doll Haus of Dread line from Jakks Pacific is pretty cool in its own right.

Photographs have surfaced this week of four dolls in the upcoming toy line…

• Pinhead from Hellraiser
• Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th
• Ghostface from Scream
• Billy the Puppet from Saw

Much like Mattel’s Monster High line, these Doll Haus of Dread dolls reimagine the horror icons with a killer sense of style, and each one comes with custom themed shoes and accessories.

The Hellraiser doll is wearing a highly unique Pinhead beret and holding a Puzzle Box purse, while the Jason Universe doll is more of a Crystal Lake camp counselor dressed up as Jason.

The Ghostface doll is easily the coolest in the line, mostly because it looks like a dead ringer for Drew Barrymore’s Casey Becker from the original Scream… dressed up as Ghostface!

Jigsaw’s Billy puppet from the Saw franchise makes a natural transition into the world of fashion, with swirly makeup, saw blade heels, and a tricycle-shaped purse completing the look.

We don’t know at this time when these dolls are going to be released or if more horror icons will be added to the mix, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled. Stay tuned for updates.

Sidney is holding a gun – she’s Sidney fucking Prescott, after all – while Gale is getting ready for her latest news report and Dewey is holding a gun and also clutching a Ghostface mask.

The majority of the Scream toys and collectibles we’ve gotten over the years have been all about Ghostface, so it’s great to finally be getting the other iconic characters from Funko.

But will we ever get Scream toys based on the original classic? We can only hope.

Mattel revealed during their presentation at San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon that an action figure 2-pack of Chucky and Liv Morgan will be released this coming Halloween season!

The action figures of both Chucky and Liv Morgan look to feature a few different heads along with a knife accessory, allowing you to recreate Liv’s brutal murder at the hands of Chucky.

Just like she was in the series, Liv Morgan is dressed in Chucky-themed attire.

Morgan guest starred in “Chucky” Season 2, Episode 4, which was titled Death on Denial. “It’s a dream. I just want to be brutally murdered by Chucky,” she said at the time.

Ringside Collectibles brings us the first photographs out of Comic-Con, giving us a sneak peek at Mattel figures of John Cena as The Invisible Man and Kane as Michael Myers!

The John Cena x Invisible Man action figure is course a play on the now-retired Cena’s iconic “you can’t see me!” tagline, and the clear plastic figure features three different heads.

As for Kane, his famous red and black mask has been turned completely white, and his outfit replaced by torn up blue coveralls. He comes with a kitchen knife and a carved jack-o’lantern.

No word yet on when these will be released, what the packaging will look like, or who else (if anyone) will be joining Cena and Kane in the line, but we are certainly paying attention.

What is Sweet Revenge, you ask? It was described as a “vignette” by the team but it’s really a full-on short film that served to introduce the new Jason Universe branding as well as the fresh new redesign for the Jason Voorhees character. It was also part of a larger partnership between Jason Universe and Angry Orchard Hard Cider, with special Jason Universe-branded Angry Orchard beverages and 12-packs being released in stores last Halloween season.

We wrote in our review of Sweet Revenge last summer, “Sweet Revenge is a promising step in the right direction that should restore any lost faith in the franchise. Beyond tiding viewers over until Peacock’s Crystal Lake prequel series, the vignette begs for expansion.”

Our review continued, “Presented as something of an urban legend, with the area’s troubled past alluded to without any specifics, Jason is played with urgency by stunt coordinator Schuyler White. Kidrobot has partnered with Target on a line of horror icon plush dolls, with Art the Clown, Michael Myers, Ghost Face, Pennywise, and Jason Voorhees already announced so far.

The Pennywise doll is based on Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise from the modern movies and TV series, while the Jason Voorhees doll brings to life the new Jason Universe design.

Art the Clown is actually getting two different dolls from Kidrobot, one Art blood-splatted and holding a hacksaw and the other depicting Santa Art from Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3.

Kidrobot notes that all these dolls are coming soon to Target.com and select Target stores.

This year’s new lineup of Spirit Halloween animatronics includes a brand new Michael Myers animatronic that measures 6-foot, 6-inches tall. It’s based on John Carpenter’s original classic and features an animated head that turns side-to-side, and knife-wielding hand that moves up and down. The animatronic also plays both the main title theme and Laurie’s Theme!

We’re also getting a new animatronic of Pennywise based on the HBO series “IT: Welcome to Derry,” fully covered with blood up to his nose. It was by far the coolest new Pennywise look from the series, and it looks awesome in the form of a Spirit Halloween animatronic.

Spirit Halloween is also teasing a new Ghostface animatronic that looks to be based on Scream 3?! Ghostface appears to be wearing a bulletproof vest with bullet holes, but they haven’t yet revealed full details about this one. The mask is also outfitted with a bleeding effect.

Previously revealed, we’re getting a killer animatronic of the Xenomorph from the original Alien this year, with this year’s original animatronics including Carnival Creeper, Trash Bandit, Wind Up Wally, Buzz, Jeremy Jaws, Doomsday Duo, Bog Monster, Pumpkin Punisher, and more.

Mattel’s Monster High line was originally dedicated to dolls based on classic monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula, but in recent years has grown to include all kinds of modern icons.

The “Skullector” line of Mattel’s Monster High brand has been dedicated to these for-collectors dolls, including H.G. Giger’s Xenomorph from Alien, Lupita Nyong’o’s two characters from Jordan Peele’s horror movie Us, and even Shorty from Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Arriving this weekend for Monster High Fang Club members is none other than Gozer the Gozerian, a powerful, malevolent entity from another dimension who was summoned to New York City in 1984’s Ghostbusters, and to Summerville in 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, to destroy the world.

Much like the recent Shorty doll release, the new doll hails from an IP that’s also a merchandising powerhouse, making Gozer a long-overdue inclusion to the Monster High “Skullector” line.

Details are scarce until the reveal later this week, with Mattel’s tease on Instagram highlighting Manhattan’s “Spook Central” apartment building, but Fang Club members received two close-up teases (below) of the doll’s detailing that all but confirm the Destructor, played memorably by Slavitza Jovan in the original, and an uncredited Olivia Wilde accompanying Shohreh Aghdashloo’s voicework in Afterlife.

Beyond the latest drop, arriving this weekend on June 6, a new animated Ghostbusters series is heading to Netflix next year.

Bit Bot Media has created a Dark Crystal mask of the Skeksis Chamberlain.

Mattel is promising on the official Monster High Instagram account that there will be restocks of the Killer Klowns doll. “Stay tuned for more info on restocks!” the account commented on their own post earlier today. They replied directly to a fan, “restocks are coming!”

Part of the Skullector line of Monster High collectible dolls, the official Killer Klowns from Outer Space doll is based on the loveable and colorful Klowns character known as Shorty.

The doll was selling for $71 as a pre-order, and only “Fang Club” members were given the opportunity to buy the doll from MattelCreations.com, while supplies last. Once again, those supplies didn’t last very long, but it seems more of the dolls will be in stock for everyone soon.

Mattel had been saying earlier this week that the dolls would also be sold directly on Amazon, but while there was indeed a listing for the product on Amazon at 12pm ET earlier today, it never seemed to actually be in stock over there. Perhaps they underestimated the demand.

Mondo has a Mothra designer figure by Urban Aztec up for pre-order through May 19. Priced at $195, it’s expected to ship in February 2027.

Sculpted by Brenton Henriques, the soft vinyl figure measures 9″ tall with an 18″ wingspan. A display stand is included.

Dopefoot by Joshua Millican

Former Dread Central writer Joshua Millican will publish a Bigfoot novel titled Dopefoot on June 16 via Mad Axe Media.

The 224-page book is described as “a distinctly Californian spin on dark woodland horror, a gory cryptid mystery fueled by butane, THC, and amphetamines.”

Mattel has taken to social media to tease their upcoming Killer Klowns x Monster High collaboration, which will be available from Amazon and Mattel Creations on Friday, May 15.

Mattel previews, “WATCH OUT: ALIEN INVASION INCOMING. The circus comes to town 5/15.”

The doll is reportedly based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space character Shorty (seen above), who has become the most iconic Klown from the 1980s horror-comedy cult classic.

Directed by the Chiodo Brothers, Killer Klowns has surprisingly become a merchandising powerhouse in recent years, with all kinds of collectibles and a Halloween Horror Nights house.

The one thing we still haven’t gotten, despite the modern popularity of the brand? Another Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie, which has been rumored for as long as I can remember.

The Chiodo Brothers have been trying to get a franchise continuation off the ground since way back in the late 1980s when the original movie came out. Stephen Chiodo had explained back in 2021, “We have been trying to get the sequel going since 1988. And Hollywood is just a horrible machine. The film didn’t really get much box office… and when you want to get a sequel done, they look at the box office. They don’t regard cult films as something to invest in.”

He continued, “We have this whole long trilogy – something we call a trilogy in four parts because we include the original – a TV series for cable [or] streaming. It follows the adventures of all the characters as they go through their lives, crushed after the first invasion. It would make a great mini-series. So we’re constantly selling that for people who are interested.”

We did, however, get a video game a few years back. It’s a start!

A new toy of Slim from horror-comedy classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space is also part of the wave, along with a blood-soaked Carrie and a new Hannibal Lecter toy.

The new Hannibal toy from Funko is specifically based on ’90s Oscar winner The Silence of the Lambs, depicting Anthony Hopkins’ iconic killer in his memorable containment unit.

These five new horror toys go up for grabs at 12pm ET on Wednesday, May 6.

Originally published in 1980 and long sought after by fans, the novelization of John Carpenter’s The Fog has been reissued by Echo On Publications.

Written by Dennis Etchison (who also penned novelizations of Halloween II, Halloween III, and Videodrome), the book includes a new introduction to Etchison by Echo On editor-in-chief Christian Francis.

The novel is available in hardcover, trade paperback, mass market paperback, and e-book, with an audio book coming soon.

The Evil Dead Steelbook 4K UHD from Sony

The Evil Dead is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a Steelbook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray release on July 7 via Sony.

NECA is comemorating the 40th anniversary of Aliens with reissues of their 7″ scale action figures and accessories.

The Xenomorph queen ultra deluxe figure is over 15″ tall and over 30″ long with over 30 points of articulation, including a poseable tail. It costs $129.99.

The Xenomorph Warrior ultimate action figure stands over 9″ tall and features 30 points of articulation, hinged jaw with extending inner mouth, and poseable wire tail. It includes facehugger, chestburster, and egg. It costs $39.99.

The Driller Killer soundtrack will be released on vinyl for the first time on May 8 from Recently Deceased. It costs $34.99.

Joe Delia’s (Bad Lieutenant, Body Snatchers) composer’s cut has been newly remastered from the long-thought-lost original master tapes.

Limited to 1,000, the album is housed in a jacket featuring art by Douglas Metro alongside a printed inner sleeve with lyrics and liner notes by Delia and director Abel Ferrara.

Godzilla Minus One Figure from Super7

Super 7 will release a Godzilla Minus One figure based on the monster’s appearance in the opening sequence on Odo Island.

The 7″ scale toy measures 11.35″ long and has 28 points of articulation. Two interchangeable heads and four interchangeable hands are included.

Expected to ship in January 2027, it’s available for $80 exclusively on Amazon.

And it’s one insane journey paved with blood-soaked violence and no shortage of nightmare fuel.”

Obsession is rated R for “strong bloody violence, grisly images, sexual content, pervasive language, and brief graphic nudity.”

Barker recently wrapped production on his next film, Anything But Ghosts, and he’s currently developing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot for A24.
