Oops! More Than 20,000 People Signed a Petition Asking Netflix to Cancel Amazon’s “Good Omens”

A joint venture between Amazon and BBC Two, the Neil Gaiman adaptation “Good Omens” launched exclusively on Amazon Prime Video here in the States last month, and it’s the latest piece of entertainment to spawn a silly petition. But this one’s even sillier than the silliest of petitions, as 20,000 people have signed a petition asking *Netflix* to cancel the series!

Again, “Good Omens” is an Amazon series, and Netflix has nothing to do with it.

The petition, launched by the Christian-led Return to Order campaign, has been scrubbed from the internet in the hopes of avoiding further embarrassment, but the complaint was that “Good Omens” is “another step to make satanism appear normal, light and acceptable.” The petition had also noted that the series “mocks God’s wisdom.”

The petition continued, “this type of video makes light of Truth, Error, Good and Evil, and destroys the barriers of horror that society still has for the devil.”

“Good Omens,” a six-episode mini-series, tells a tale that follows a demon and an angel who seek to prevent the coming of the Antichrist and with it Armageddon, the final battle between Heaven and Hell. David Tennant stars as the demon Crowley, Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale, and Frances McDormand as the voice of God.

Gaiman himself responded to the petition, “I love that they are going to write to Netflix to try and get cancelled. Says it all really.

Let this be a reminder: not *everything* is made by Netflix, even if it may seem that way!

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Brad Dourif

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.

Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
