Showtime’s “Dexter” Revival Drops Chilling New Trailer That Promises a Killer Return in November! [Video]

Dexter Morgan returns! This time under new alias Jim Lindsay, far away from sunny Miami. A new trailer, below, reveals that no matter how far, Dexter can’t run from his problems or killer impulses.

During the Comic-con@Home panel, award-winning star Michael C. Hall (Dexter, executive producer), Clyde Phillips (showrunner, executive producer), Scott Reynolds (executive producer), Marcos Siega (executive producer, director), and Dexter newcomer Julia Jones (Angela) discussed the series’ legacy and what’s changed for the eponymous character in the upcoming revival. Most notably, Dexter now lives in a snowy small town where everyone knows each other. Expect the wintry conditions to play a role this season.

Jones revealed that her character begins the season in a relationship with Dexter. Complicating matters is that Angela is the town’s chief of police.

“Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami.”

Considering how polarizing the ending to the series’ original run was, Phillips’ promise that the new revival will “blow up the internet” by its conclusion is particularly intriguing.

Though coy on how, Phillips did confirm that returning cast members like Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow will reprise their roles in surprising ways. Clancy Brown will serve as the season’s primary antagonist, and Jamie Chung will appear as true crime podcaster Molly Park.

Dexter: New Blood will premiere on Showtime November 7, 2021.

Horror journalist, RT Top Critic, and Critics Choice Association member. Co-Host of the Bloody Disgusting Podcast. Has appeared on PBS series' Monstrum, served on the SXSW Midnighter shorts jury, and moderated horror panels for WonderCon and SeriesFest.
