John Carpenter Wants to Score a Video Game and That Needs to Happen Immediately

Published

on

Horror master John Carpenter makes no secret of the fact that he loves playing video games, and you can often find him tweeting about the latest games he’s been playing. Carpenter is also no stranger to being directly involved with games, as he scored 1998’s Sentinel Returns and also worked on F.E.A.R 3. So would he ever like to score another game, you ask?

In a lengthy chat with Consequence of Sound, who named him Composer of the Year, Carpenter just expressed his desire to do precisely that in the near future!

“I think there’s a part of me that’s dying to do a game score,” Carpenter told the site.

He continued, I’m just dying to do it, but I don’t think anybody will hire me. No one thinks about me to do music for games. That’d be great!

What the hell are you waiting for, game developers? Let’s make this happen!

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Face Your Fears in ‘Don’t Be Afraid 2’, Coming to PC and Consoles [Trailer]

Eneida Games and Cat-astrophe Games are following up 2020’s horror adventure title Don’t Be Afraid with the sequel, Don’t Be Afraid 2. The developers have released a new gameplay trailer, delving into the details of the sequel.

Don’t Be Afraid 2 sees you once again in the shoes of David, who is 15 years removed from the events of the first game. For years, David tried to pick up the pieces and deal with the damage the events left on him. Unable to keep a job, find a partner, or even handle simple daily tasks, he leads a pitiful life under the watchful eye of his therapist. Unfortunately, David’s past has caught up to him sooner than he expected, resulting in him now reliving the darkest moments of his life. David must now gather clues about his past and solve puzzles left behind by the deranged murderer toying with his life, trying to find a way out of a mansion where the line between dreams and reality is blurred.

As such, Don’t Be Afraid 2 features two unique endings. Will you escape or succumb to your fears? Can you deal with David’s past or will it break you? You’ll have to struggle your way through the horrors that endure in David’s psyche, navigating a series of sinister escape rooms, and uncover the chilling truth behind the nightmares.

“The original Don’t Be Afraid was much loved by a community, brave horror game fans that accepted the frightening challenge ahead of them,” says Krzysztof Szymański, Narrative Director. “Now, we propose an even scarier, and gut-wrenching experience not for the faint of heart. Will you have what it takes to survive? We can’t wait to see you try!”

Don’t Be Afraid 2 is currently in development for PC via Steam, Playstation 5, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch.
