[Trailer] Lovecraftian Romance Awaits With ‘Sucker for Love’ Available Today

Published

on

Your dream (date) of romancing Cthulhu and other Lovecraftian Eldritch ladies is here, as DreadXP and indie developer Akabaka’s Sucker for Love: First Date  is available today on Steam and Itch.io. Sucker for Love aims to put the “love” back into “Lovecraftian horror,” tasking you with conducting occult rituals in order to win the affection of an Eldritch goddess in this subversive and bizarre take on the “otome” visual novel dating genre.

Each of the lovely ladies has their own unique personalities and menacing auras. There’s Ln’eta, a cute Cthulhu-like entity that is an affectionate sweetheart with a jealous streak; Estir, the elegant self-proclaimed royalty loves the color yellow and the finer things in life; and Nyanlathotep, whom at first may be intimidating, but eventually those around her are completely “enraptured”.

“We’re thrilled to launch the weird, wild, and whimsical delight that is Sucker for Love: First Date and are proud of the journey that the game has had,” says DreadXP’s Patrick Ewald.

“Working with Joseph Hunter at Akabaka has been a joy. Together, we’ve plotted out an episodic series based on the original and very popular Sucker for Love concept, which Akabaka had made in just ten days for one of our earliest titles, Dread X Collection 2. It’s incredibly gratifying and exciting for us to introduce fans today to this full-fledged visual novel, and we hope to see them return for more later this year.”

And if you need further convincing, check out Neil’s review of the game.

Come Face to Face With the Zombie Menace in the Story Trailer for ‘Zombie Army VR’ [Watch]

While there’s no definitive release date just yet, Rebellion is teasing fans with a new story trailer for the upcoming Zombie Army VR, which is expected to arrive later this year. The new trailer gives fans and prospective players a glimpse at the Zombie Army VR story campaign, which as you might have guessed, involves occult magic, waves of zombies, and plenty of headshots.

The game’s campaign takes place alongside the events of the Zombie Army series, and sees you take to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. You must fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length story campaign either alone or with an ally, you’ll have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols and more. As one would expect, VR brings a new level of immersion to the action of the Zombie Army series, which will require you to “get to grips” with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your side arm with a submachine gun, master reloading drills, and tossing grenades.

Zombie Army VR is currently in development for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro, Oculus Rift and PC headsets via Steam.
