Combat Mod Makes Playing ‘Sekiro’ Feel Like ‘Bloodborne’

Published

on

It’s obvious that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is Dark Souls set in feudal Japan (which is not a bad thing), so why not make it more like another Souls game? The Bloodborne Combat Mod for Sekiro by thefifthmatt seeks to do just that, tweaking Sekiro‘s parry-focused combat to prioritize dashing, as well as tweaking the invincibility frames to be more like Bloodborne‘s system.

That’s not all that’s been reworked, as the mod also includes a variation on Bloodborne’s Rally System. After you’re attacked, you have a small opportunity to gain back health as long as you return the damage. Also, the mod makes it so that blocking doesn’t deflect attacks anymore, which results in you receiving damage.

The mod also reconfigures Sekiro‘s posture system to stand in for Bloodborne‘s stamina meter, resulting in you being penalized for constantly swinging and dashing all over the place. In other words, you’ll have to attack smart.

To get this working, you’ll first need to snag the Sekiro Mod Engine, following by the Bloodborne Combat Mod itself.
