‘Saw VI’ Director Having a ‘Mind-Numbingly Complex’ Experience
After five Saw films, are you one of the people who still can’t get enough of Jigsaw (and his pawns?) If so, Saw VI director Kevin Greutert updates his official blog with a pretty lengthy update about his post-production experience. In short, “it’s mind-numbingly complex.” You can read all about it inside and check out Saw VI in theaters everywhere October 23rd.
“I made Andrew take today off. He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night with people as unhappy as the folks who live in Jigsaw’s World. Andrew has focused on the last ten minutes of the film for over a week now, and to put it subtly, it’s noisy. Strangers from other companies along the hallway have been coming up to me and asking, “What the hell is going on in there?” By the end of the night my mind is screaming, and I’m sure Andrew’s is as well.
Yesterday we passed a major turning point, and that’s the real reason we’re taking the day off. My confidence went through the roof when we sat and watched our latest work last night, and I couldn’t sleep for a new reason: I can’t wait for people to see the movie. I think it stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of the SAWs, and while I’m the least objective person imaginable when it comes to this, I think we’ve all done something really special.
The next step is showing it to the producers. This is a process that strikes terror in the heart of many directors, and I’m no exception. But if I’m correct, they’re going to be very pleased indeed…”

‘Ebenezer’ Official Trailer – Ti West Turns Johnny Depp into ‘A Christmas Carol’ Icon Scrooge
Ti West (X, Pearl, MaXXXine) is back with the upcoming Ebenezer starring Johnny Depp, a fresh new take on the classic tale of A Christmas Carol from Charles Dickens.
Johnny Depp will play Ebenezer Scrooge in Ti West’s Ebenezer, and Paramount is bringing the film to theaters on November 13, 2026. Watch the official trailer down below.
The tagline? “The name you know. The story you don’t.”
Andrea Riseborough (Possessor), Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings), Tramell Tillman (“Severance”), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter franchise), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars franchise), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games franchise), Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), and Ellie Bamber (“Willow”) also star.
Deadline had detailed in a recent report, “This version, a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, follows one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance. Stephen Deuters and Jason Forman to executive produce.”
Nathaniel Halpern wrote the adaptation for Ti West to direct.
Written by Charles Dickens, the classic tale of A Christmas Carol has been adapted for the screen countless times over the years, with notable film adaptations including Scrooge (1951) starring Alastair Sim, Scrooge (1970) starring Albert Finney, A Christmas Carol (1984) starring George C. Scott, Scrooged (1988) starring Bill Murray, The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) starring Michael Caine, and A Christmas Carol (2009) starring Jim Carrey.
A Christmas Carol is classically a period piece ghost story. As Luiz H.C. wrote here on Bloody Disgusting, “Isn’t it weird how the single most influential piece of Christmas-related media is technically a horror story? One can even make the argument that Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol paved the way for the rise of Victorian Spiritualism during the following decade.”
