First Look at Joe Dante’s Online ‘Splatter’ Fest, Two Clips!

Published

on

A few weeks back Netflix announced it would be collaborating with renowned horror filmmaker Roger Corman (“Little Shop of Horrors,” “Pit and the Pendulum”) on a series of Internet Webisodes entitled Splatter, scheduled to debut two days before Halloween (that’s tomorrow!). Anyone in America can instantly watch the Webisodes at www.netflix.com/splatter. In a plot twist, Mr. Corman, making his Internet video debut at age 83, is opening up the creative direction of the series by asking the public to vote on the fate of its characters. Beyond the break you’ll find the first clip teasing tomorrow’s debut. Corey Feldman and Tony Todd star in the shorts directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins)!
Entitled “Splatter,” the Webisodes were conceived and produced by Mr. Corman, co-produced by Julie Corman (“Box Car Bertha,” “The Westing Game”), directed by horror auteur Joe Dante (“Gremlins,” “The Howling”) and star Corey Feldman (“Lost Boys,” “Stand By Me”) in the title role of rocker Johnny Splatter. The first episode of “Splatter” will launch on October 29, with the second installment scheduled for November 6 and the concluding episode slated for November 13 – yes, Friday the 13th.

“Splatter” is the haunting tale of rock-and-roll legend Johnny Splatter, a musical genius who accumulated as many hit records as he did enemies on his climb up the fame ladder. His sudden death, ruled a suicide, brings a small circle of professional parasites and hangers-on to his Hollywood Hills mansion for the reading of his last will and testament. But as his “frenmies” come to pick the bones clean, Johnny has returned for a deadly encore long after what they thought was his final curtain.

Corey Feldman will be guest tweeting from the Netflix Twitter account (www.twitter.com/netflix) from 11 am – noon PT tomorrow, October 29 to chat with fans and answer questions about Splatter.

‘Scary Movie’ Heads to Blu-ray in September After $224 Million Box Office Win

Published

on

Over one month later, Scary Movie is still playing in theaters and still making money, with the franchise’s brand new installment slashing into $224.5 million at the worldwide box office.

In fact, the Scary Movie franchise has now collectively passed $1 billion in theaters!

Scary Movie is headed to Digital at home soon, and a listing on Amazon this week indicates that the film will be making its way to Blu-ray and DVD this coming September.

The film is listed for DVD and Blu-ray release on September 22, 2026.

We don’t have any additional release information at this time. Stay tuned.

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.

Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directed the new Scary Movie.
