Win Passes For Early ‘Super 8’ Screenings In Florida!

Published

on

When we usually do ticket giveaways for Florida, it’s limited to Orlando, but J.J. Abram’s Super 8 (review) looks like it’s going to be something really special and we wanted as many readers to get a chance to see it as possible. So, this time around, we’re giving away 50 passes (good for two people each) to screenings in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville AND West Palm Beach. Check past the jump for your chance to snag one!

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
Since Super 8 takes place in 1979, we’re going to give a vague description of a horror film released that year which you have to guess (also, if anyone writes the answer in the comment section below, I’m changing the film to keep it fair!). To win, all you have to do is email your name, answer and what city you want to see it in to bloodydisgustingpodcast@gmail.com with SUPER 8 in the subject line. GOFOBO codes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. The screening schedule is as follows:

AMC Sunset Place

June 7th, 2011
7:30 PM

AMC Veterans Theater
Tampa
June 7th, 2011
7:30 PM

Sorry, had to change the film. Please don’t put the answer in the comment section, I’m trying to give everyone a fair shot at these. Thanks – Harley

Name this flick: Stowaway finds refuge in ventilation shafts, never manages to catch cat.

At one point known as ShiverTim Miller‘s (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) next movie doesn’t yet have a title, but star Keanu Reeves offers a very intriguing tease this week.

Chatting with Collider, Reeves explains what drew him to the mysterious upcoming project from director Tim Miller. He tells the outlet, “Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day.”

That lines up with early plot details that surfaced earlier this year, with the film said to center on a “smuggler in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea.”

That synopsis continued, “Surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and bloodthirsty sharks, the man finds himself in a time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.”

Callie Cooke (“The Stranger”), Stefan Kapičić (Deadpool), Steven Waddington (Sleepy Hollow), Nicholas Duvernay (“The White Lotus”), Abraham Popoola (Cruella), Anastasia Safonov, and Bobby Holland Hanton (Thor: Love and Thunder) also star.

Ian Shorr (SplinterInfinite) penned the screenplay for the sci-fi thriller, which had previously been described as having shades of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.

Stay tuned for more on the untitled Warner Bros. project.
