Bloody Disgusting Selects: Aussie Trailer for ‘The Woman’

Published

on

I was hoping we could have cut our own trailer before international distributors would release their version, but unfortunately what we have for you today is a pretty weak sauce Australian trailer for Lucky McKee’s The Woman (review), which we’ll be releasing in theaters uncut this fall. Alas, inside you’ll find the FIRST EVER footage from the film starring horror fav Angela Bettis (who starred in McKee’s May).

The Woman, a companion piece to Jack Ketchum’s Offspring, was the center of controversy at the this past January’s Sundance Film Festival when an audience member got worked up over its graphic content and said it should be “confiscated and burned.”

Chris Cleek (Sean Bridgers, Deadwood) is a small town court officer living a quiet, seemingly normal life in the heart of Maine with his beloved family. That is, until Chris discovers a feral woman roaming the woods and makes it the family’s project to civilise her. But as the family’s methods of forcing civility upon the woman become ever more extreme, the perverse bonds uniting them will be cast into violent relief.

After making $230 million at the worldwide box office, this year’s franchise reboot Scary Movie is now headed home to Digital, and a brand new Extended Cut is coming with it!

Scary Movie: Extended Cut hits Digital on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

This new cut promises “Extended scenes and alternate cuts.”

“The jokes just got even more unhinged — the Extended Cut throws more laughs, more madness, and all-new scenes for a franchise that has never met a line it wouldn’t cross.”

We don’t know too much about Scary Movie: Extended Cut at this time, but we did recently hear that additional Terrifier spoof footage was one thing left on the cutting room floor.

Fedor Steer’s appearance as Artie Claus is brief in Scary Movie, but he noted in an Instagram post that more footage was shot for the Terrifier 3 spoof scene. Steer explained, “Sadly, the scene where I cut off [the mall Santa’s] arms and head and twirl in the fountain of blood spewing from his neck didn’t make the movie. Just trust me when I tell you it was awesome!”

We also know that a bit featuring Smile parody Ghostface masks was cut from the film.

Scary Movie is listed for DVD and Blu-ray release on September 22, 2026.

Twenty-six years after the original massacre, Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray get dragged back into the chaos by a brand-new masked killer who clearly never learned when to quit.

Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall reunite for an outrageous return to the franchise’s original roots, where every target is fair game.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directed the new Scary Movie.
