Bloody Disgusting Selects: Official Teaser Trailer for ‘The Woman’!

The Australian trailer sort of blew the load on our plans for marketing Lucky McKee’s The Woman (review), which will arrive in limited theaters this October from Bloody Disgusting Selects, but it won’t stop us from moving forward.
Inside we present the OFFICIAL teaser trailer for The Woman, the most controversial film of the year starring Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers and Angela Bettis. The Woman, a companion piece to Jack Ketchum’s Offspring, was the center of controversy at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival when an audience member got worked up over its graphic content and said it should be “confiscated and burned.”
From horror icon Jack Ketchum, and producers Andrew van den Houten and Robert Tonino, “The Woman is the last surviving member of a feral clan that has roamed the Northeast Coast for decades. When the last of her family is killed in a battle with the police, The Woman finds herself alone, severely wounded and vulnerable. Unfortunately, she is now a far too easy prey for local hunter, successful country lawyer and seriously disturbed family man Christopher Cleek. With his twisted set of ideals, Cleek decides to embark upon a deranged project – to capture her and “break” The Woman – a decision that will soon threaten the lives of Cleek, his family and The Woman.”

‘Medium Rare’ – Curry Barker’s Dad Jeff Barker Directing His Own Horror Short Starring Dane Cook
Curry Barker’s career is exploding with possibility in the wake of Obsession‘s box office success, but Curry Barker isn’t the only one in the Barker family making horror movies.
The Hollywood Reporter informs us this afternoon that Curry Barker’s father Jeff Barker is going to be writing and directing a horror short starring comedian Dane Cook!
The short is titled Medium Rare, and Lesley Ann Warren will also star.
THR details, “The film follows a man trapped inside a bar, where reality begins to unravel in increasingly disturbing ways. Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles later this summer.”
“Medium Rare is a short story I wrote eight years ago. I’m honored by the team of people helping me bring this project to life,” Jeff Barker said in a statement shared by the outlet.
Jeff Barker is a screenwriter in his own right, credited as the script consultant for Obsession. He even wrote the Hansel & Gretel monologue memorably delivered by Inde Navarrette.
