New Sales Art for Deep Sea Terror ‘Phantom’
In lieu of the forthcoming AFM market, Strongbow Pictures released new sales art and a long synopsis for a deep sea horror film that takes place at the height of the Cold War.
Phantom, which is written and directed by Todd Robinson, begins when “a Soviet diesel-electric submarine attempts to launch a nuclear weapon at the United States Navy’s Pacific Fleet. In the end, one man stood between the apocalypse and the survival of mankind. But, in the indigo depths of the South Pacific, man and machine are not alone.”
Andy Garcia (The Godfather: Part III ), William Fichtner (Drive Angry 3D), Ed Harris (The Abyss, A History of Violence) and Natascha McElhone (“Califorication”) all star.
The film teases “someTHING” aboard their vessel. Check out the newest promo artwork above with a long synopsis inside.
“Suspicion between the superpowers is at its peak and the Americans are staging a mass Naval exercise in the Pacific. To observe the manoeuvres submarine Captain Dmitri Zubov, an experienced sailor but a man troubled by a past he struggles to live with, sets sail on what is the final mission of Soviet submarine B756. Armed with multiple torpedoes and a single tactical nuclear ballistic missile the sub is also fitted with a cloaking device that can render them invisible to the Americans.
When B756 fails to make a position report – the last that is heard from the sub it was 500 nautical miles NW of the Hawaiian Islands – Fleet Command classifies the vessel as missing. Fearing western retaliation they send their entire fleet after B756.
Meanwhile deep under the Pacific Ocean Captain Zubov and the ship’s crew of the B-756 uncover a plot that will destroy humanity. Zubov is determined to foil the plot but as the sub is pushed to its very limits and air supplies diminish, he and the crew face almost impossible odds and an increasingly unsettling sense that they are not alone…”

Keanu Reeves Describes Untitled Time Loop Thriller from Director Tim Miller as ‘Groundhog Day’ With Sharks
At one point known as Shiver, Tim Miller‘s (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) next movie doesn’t yet have a title, but star Keanu Reeves offers a very intriguing tease this week.
Chatting with Collider, Reeves explains what drew him to the mysterious upcoming project from director Tim Miller. He tells the outlet, “Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day.”
That lines up with early plot details that surfaced earlier this year, with the film said to center on a “smuggler in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea.”
That synopsis continued, “Surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and bloodthirsty sharks, the man finds himself in a time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.”
Callie Cooke (“The Stranger”), Stefan Kapičić (Deadpool), Steven Waddington (Sleepy Hollow), Nicholas Duvernay (“The White Lotus”), Abraham Popoola (Cruella), Anastasia Safonov, and Bobby Holland Hanton (Thor: Love and Thunder) also star.
Ian Shorr (Splinter, Infinite) penned the screenplay for the sci-fi thriller, which had previously been described as having shades of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.
Stay tuned for more on the untitled Warner Bros. project.
