[FrightFest ’12] A Gory Look At WWIII Horror ‘Remnants’
Directed by Peter Engert, and starring C.J. Thomason (Harper’s Island, Husk), Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason), Edward Furlong (American History X, Terminator 2), Andre Royo (The Wire), Christine Kelly and Jessie Rusu (Mother’s Day), Remnants will have its World Premiere at this month’s UK Film4 FrightFest in London.
We’ve landed a handful of bloody exclusive imagery for the horror flick premiering Saturday, August 25 (tickets here).
“World War III has happened and the USA is in meltdown. Nine strangers find themselves holed up together in a farmhouse cellar in rural Texas. Young Dr Hunter survived the nuclear attack and is thrown together by chance with a group of wounded and frightened victims. Hunter and his slowly dying companions wait for news from the government while fending off hunger, claustrophobia, conflicting personalities, radiation sickness and hordes of terrified, dying refugees as they attempt to endure the devastating holocaust. Peter Engert’s haunting, moving and remarkably assured chronicle of final catastrophe.”

The new horror movie will be available virtually nationwide during the Popcorn Frights Film Festival, starting August 7, with festival passes and tickets available now.
Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) stars as Dusty, a man who has meticulously engineered his existence into something pristine and untouchable—meditation at dawn, disciplined yoga, punishing boxing routines, strict nutrition, obsessive hygiene. Every detail is calculated. Every impulse contained. Every fear locked out. Until it isn’t.
When Dusty’s carefully constructed system finally fractures, something impossible slips in—Woozy. A horrifying apparition that shouldn’t exist… and yet absolutely does. What begins as control collapses into spectacular chaos as Dusty is forced into a brutal confrontation with the delusions he thought he had mastered. WOOZY becomes a visceral battle between discipline and disorder, sanity and surrender, structure and the terrifying unknown that lives just beneath the surface.
