High Five! It’s The Full Trailer For ‘Birdemic 2: The Resurrection’!

Arm yourself with a coat hanger…you asked for it.

The official trailer for the highly anticipated film Birdemic 2: The Resurrection, written and directed by the Master of Romantic Thrillers James Nguyen! The trailer is pretty hilarious, although a bit on the nose. With that said, we have heard from people close to the project that there’s nothing meta about it — Nguyen still believes he’s a master filmmaker. I hope it’s as entertaining as the trailer!

In this sequel to cult favorite Birdemic: Shock and Terror, a flock of eagles and vultures wreak havoc amidst blossoming romance in Hollywood, California, leaving bloodshed and destruction wherever they hover. The story features original Birdemic survivors Rod and Nathalie, who are joined by new friends—struggling filmmaker Bill, aspiring actress Gloria, and several other Angelinos they encounter as they battle angry birds and a host of new enemies.

Visionary writer/director James Nguyen said his inspiration for the film was the La Brea Tar Pits. “I went to the museum at the Tar Pits, which had an exhibit of ancient eagles and vultures,” he recalled, “and as I walked through it, I said, ‘This is Birdemic 2.’” He added, “The Tar Pits are a major hint why the birds attack LA.

The film’s production company, I Got a Fish Productions LLC, has announced that the world premieres will be in November 2012 in a few select cities with cast and crew on hand, with a wider theatrical release currently being set for December and early next year. To raise funds for broader marketing of Birdemic 2: The Resurrection due to increasing theatrical demand, producer Jeff Gross created a campaign you can check out here.

As a rabid fan of the original and after hearing James’ pitch for the sequel, I knew this was a film that had to be made,” Gross said. “At the very least, I needed to see it. I felt the world of cinema would be incomplete without the continuation of the Birdemic saga.” He also stated, “We produced it entirely independently to ensure James had complete creative control through the final cut. Fans of the original should be thrilled to see where he took the story. To call the picture ‘unique’ is an understatement.

Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, Predator: Killer of Killers, Predator: Badlands) will direct horror comedy Freddy the 13th for Paramount Animation, and the film now has a release date.

Paramount will release Freddy the 13th in theaters on October 13, 2028.

And yes, that’s a Friday the 13th!

The animated feature will adapt the indie comic from Yehudi Mercado.

Freddy the 13th essentially imagines a world where Uncle Buck becomes Jason Voorhees.

Deadline details the upcoming animated film as follows: “A family vacation turns into a nightmare when fun Uncle Freddy accidentally kills the Boogeyman and takes on his powers.”

The official synopsis for the comic book from creator Yehudi Mercado further details, “Uncle Buck becomes the Boogey Man. When a horror-obsessed, unlucky schlub accidentally kills the legendary slasher Nighty Night, he inherits the mantle of the monster—right as he’s stuck babysitting his niece and nephew for thirteen nights of terror. Now, as rival killers crawl out of the shadows to seize the throne, Freddy must drive cross-country to break the curse, protect his family… and prove he’s finally good at something, even if it’s being evil.”

Dan Trachtenberg writes on Instagram, “I’ve spent most of my career making movies that parents probably shouldn’t show their kids. I’m finally making one…they…can…?”
