The Random Bizarre: ‘Saw’ Musical, Cthuluhusaurus Rex, Surviving Zombies, and We’ll Live to See Dinosaurs?

It’s a slow news morning so I thought it would be fun to squeeze a few random goodies we’ve discovered floating around the web.

First, if you click on over to Mantia you can downloaded a wide variety of MAC/PC wallpapers, some of which are horror themed. Who doesn’t want their computer wall screaming “Red Rum”?! Or how about one inspired by The Orphanage? I’ll be a dork and download the “Spaceship Earth” one….

Inside you’ll find a pretty awesome web video that’s been nominated for a Webby award. From Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania comes “Saw: The Musical”, which details the kills from the first six films in musical form. It was made leading up to the release of Saw 3D and performed in front of a live audience.

Another goodie you’ll find beyond the break comes courtesy of the crew over at Geekologie whom have posted an infographic summarizing the weaponry used in some of the most well-known zombie movies of the past few decades. Some items of note:

1. Distance: assault rifle (with at least thirty backpacks of ammo scattered across the city)
2. Close range: a broomstick with a knife taped to the end (I really should have looked into how much assault rifles cost before committing to the purchase)
3. Preventative: fireworks left over from the 4th of July (zombies are notoriously stupid so I’m hoping they’ll mistake them for dynamite and keep their distance)
4. Melee: chain-mail gloves (I’ve never actually beat a head in before but one time when I was shaking my wiener dry at a urinal it touched the side so I at least have some experience. Also: a growth. ‘Bubba Ho-tep’ reference — count it)

Let’s see, what else do we have? Oh, check this out! Scientists claim to be able to bring dinosaurs back to Earth! Click the aforementioned link you can read “Jurassic Park comes true: How scientists are bringing dinosaurs back to life with the help of the humble chicken!”

Speaking of dinosaurs, let’s put a horror spin on one: meet Cthuluhusaurus Rex, an abomination of Cthulhu and a T-Rex created by Reddit user “KnowDunnyBlowsEther”.
