‘Lobo’ Synopsis Sounds Kinda Like A Reverse ‘Men In Black’

Published

on

While Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has yet to confirm or deny if he’ll be taking the role of Lobo for his Journey 2 director Brad Peyton (despite this hint), it looks like the DC comics adaptation has an official synopsis. One that actually makes it sound like it has a chance of being a fun movie (of a reasonable budget).

Per It’s On The Grid, “Lobo, a powerful alien bounty hunter, lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc.” And – for what it’s worth – the site lists The Rock as starring.

In the comic, “Lobo is an alien that works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Introduced as a hardened, rarely used hard boiled villain in the 1980s, the character remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s, when he became on of the most popular characters in the DC Comics stable.?

Matt Reeves has officially announced the brand new release date for his hotly anticipated The Batman sequel, with The Batman: Part II now releasing in theaters February 18, 2028.

Check out camera test footage below for an official first look!

Matt Reeves is back to write and direct the sequel, with Robert Pattinson starring.

The screenplay was co-written with Mattson Tomlin (The Batman).

The announced cast for The Batman: Part II will also include Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Scarlet Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance.

The Batman was a huge box office hit for DC & WB back in 2022, the latest live action take on the iconic Caped Crusader crossing $770 million at the worldwide box office.

No plot details for The Batman 2 are available at this time, but a deleted scene from the first movie suggests we could be seeing more of Barry Keoghan‘s Joker down the road.

In The Batman

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.

“When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”
