[Premiere] Watch The Psycho-Inspired “Norman Bates” Video From The Burning Of Rome

Published

Bloody-Disgusting is excited to bring you the exclusive first look at The Burning Of Rome‘s newest music video for “Norman Bates”! Coming off of their latest release With Us, the video is an homage to the classic Hitchcock film Psycho, albeit with a slight twist at the end. The video is perfect for the Halloween season, so make sure to check it out below!

The Burning Of Rome won Best Alternative act at the San Diego music awards in August. With Us features additional remixes by Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers, Sublime, U2, Meat Puppets, Pepper).

With Us is available on iTunes. The band also has some upcoming shows. Tour dates are below.

Keyboard/lead vocals Traub states, “As a songwriter music is a therapeutic way for me to cope with the world around me. Ever since I was a child I felt like an alien visiting Earth and had (and still have) difficulty understanding what makes people normal. I opted to rebel against the norm through music; it was the only thing that made sense to me. The ultimate goal of The Burning of Rome is to reach as many people as possible with our sound and offer musical asylum to those needing it. Bands used to carry the banner for their followers in a way that seems fleeting. There aren’t any Joe Strummers of this generation acting as a voice for those that can’t be heard. I want The Burning of Rome to carry a banner for its followers and give them refuge from monotony. I want to rally the masses and call out the corrupt. I want a revolution to spark from this band.

The Burning Of Rome tour dates:
Oct 12 Elements Venue Bakersfield, CA
Oct 15 SLO Brewing Company San Luis Obispo, CA
Oct 19 Trunk Space Phoenix, AZ
Oct 20 Viper Room Los Angeles, CA
Oct 26 Jose’s Underground Lounge Monterey, CA

'Bury the Devil' Teaser Trailer

One night. One house. One horrifying experience. Nothing stays buried forever in Bury the Devil, a real-time exorcism movie told in a single, continuous take.

We’re exclusively unveiling the new trailer and key art for the real-time nightmare below, ahead of the film’s release in select theaters and VOD on August 21.

Adam O’Brien (Mom) directs from a script by John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson.

When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.

Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, Bill Rowat, and Mark Antony Krupa star.

This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,O’Brien previously teased. We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.

Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.

O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
