[Rock and Shock ’12] Bloody Disgusting Recap and Photos

Last weekend, Mass Concerts presented the ninth annual “Rock and Shock” convention, which returned to Worcester, Mass. for three days of horror celebrities, music, merchandise, artists and film premiers. The festivities were split between Worcester’s DCU Center for vendors, panels and signings, while the music portion took place down the street, at the Palladium.
This year’s celebrity guests included Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Oderus Urungus, Corri English and Laura Ortiz (Fearnet’s Holliston), Danny Trejo (Machete, Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Peter Kriss (KISS), Anthony Michael Hall (Breakfast Club, Edward Scissorhands), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Tyler Mane (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Tony Todd (Candyman), Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Sid Haig (The Devil’s Rejects), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), R.A. Mihailoff (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3), Brian O’Halloran (Clerks), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Madison Lintz (The Walking Dead), and Raven (ECW, WCW, WWE).
It was announced that Twisted Sister lead singer and “Holliston” star Dee Snider was forced to cancel his appearance due to Donald Trump rescheduling the filming date of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars”.
In addition, headliners of the music portion of the three-day event included The Misfits on Friday, GWAR on Saturday and Psychopathic’s Blaze on Sunday.
Several celebrity panels were held throughout the weekend and attendees were buzzing on Saturday, following the “50 Years of Sid Haig” panel and the “Holliston” live script reading. The reading featured stars Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Oderus Urungus, Corri English, Laura Ortiz plus two lucky fans who were chosen from the audience to join the cast for a live reading of a second season episode. Green had a few surprise guests in-store for the attendees, as special guest Sid Haig, Tony Todd, Bill Moseley and Derek Mears joined the cast for segments of the reading.
Rock and Shock is set to return to Worcester for their tenth anniversary in October 2013.

Spanning four decades, A Man in the Woods With an Axe begins in the summer of 1987 before pushing into the modern era, weaving together timelines and perspectives in a way that builds both dread and intrigue.
Drawing inspiration from genre standouts like Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Hatchet, and The Cabin in the Woods, the film blends visceral horror with moments of dark humor, creating a uniquely balanced experience that honors tradition while carving its own identity.
Writer-director Dillon Brown (Primal Darkness) aims to deliver everything fans crave from a slasher while boldly subverting expectations with a mid-film twist that redefines the story.
“This is an unapologetic love letter to the films that made me fall in love with horror,” Brown tells Bloody Disgusting. “But I didn’t just want to recreate that feeling; I wanted to challenge it. About halfway through, the film takes a turn that completely changes how you view not only this story, but the genre itself.”
Brown describes the vintage-inspired production as “far and away the bloodiest film I’ve ever made,” with practical effects helmed by Cody Ruch (The Mill, Pig Hill), an instructor at Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program.
From Horror Dadz Productions, A Man in the Woods With an Axe is currently in production and targeting an early 2027 release.
