Get ready to smile, IT fans.

All of us here on Bloody Disgusting are super excited about the upcoming doc Pennywise: The Story of IT, which is currently being fan-funded over on Indiegogo. At the time of writing this post, it’s already 89% funded in a matter of days, and we’ve been told that the doc just isn’t going to become a reality unless/until it fully meets its goal. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of the 1990 mini-series adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, there’s no reason to not pitch in a couple bucks!

The doc, if it gets made, will be jam-packed with a ton of behind the scenes photos and all kinds of set footage that has NEVER been seen, and we’ve just been provided with one of those photos as an exclusive little sneak peek that we’re excited to share. It was given to us by producer/writer John Campopiano, and it shows the young Losers’ Club on set, standing in front of the actors’ chairs for their adult counterparts. This is a rare peek behind the scenes that was only just unearthed by Campopiano and the team.

The documentary from Dead Mouse Productions Ltd and Cult Screenings UK Ltd. is being directed by Chris Griffiths. It’s a fully independent retrospective into the making of Stephen King’s IT and its cultural impact over the last 28 years, set to “tell a story heard by few and showcase a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage and photos seen by even fewer.”

From exploring the historical and cultural phenomenon of coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) to Tim Curry’s magical portrayal of Pennywise the Clown (and yes, Curry himself is involved!) to the impact Vancouver (aka “Hollywood North”) had on the 1990 made-for-TV miniseries, The Story of IT will dig deeper into the Pennywise phenomenon than anything ever has before.

Again, you can help make Pennywise: The Story of IT a reality over on Indiegogo. Perks include posters, t-shirts and producer credits, as well as pre-orders of the FOUR-HOUR documentary on DVD and/or Blu-ray.

But why wait? Check out your first look below!

Skin-Crawling Deep Sea Parasites Attack in ‘Kraken’ Exclusive Clip

Kraken parasites attack in exclusive clip

Norway’s deepest fjord isn’t just unleashing a mythic monster in Kraken, but its monstrous deep sea parasites as well.

Watch our exclusive clip below, which introduces the skittering, skin-crawling aquatic menaces on the attack.

Samuel Goldwyn Films will release the Kraken in select theaters and on digital June 12.

Here’s the synopsis: “A marine biologist encounters several strange occurrences while researching a fjord, including the brutal deaths of two local teenagers. At the bottom of Norway’s deepest fjord rests a mythical monster as large as a mountain, with a myriad of arms ready to crush and devour anything they can grab.”

Pål Øie (The Tunnel) directs from a script by Vilde Eide, Kjersti Jelen Rasmussen, and Natasha Arthur.

Sara Khorami (Troll 2), Mikkel Bratt Silset, Øyvind Brandtzæg, Jenny Evensen, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Jon Erik Myre, Hans Morten Hansen, Steinar Klouman Hallert, and Filip Bargee Ramberg star.

The behemoth beast from the deep is the latest kaiju-sized aquatic creature harboring a horde of bloodthirsty parasites, joining the likes of Cloverfield and Underwater. Naturally, the Kraken itself serves as the much bigger threat.

It’s also about time that the Kraken received its own feature; though Meg 2: The Trench featured a Kraken-like beast in its climax, the Kraken hasn’t been fully unleashed since Clash of the Titans.

Watch out for the Kraken in limited theaters and on VOD this Friday.
