don’t let this 2/5 main review deter you from check this movie out, classic gory slasher that must be seen by all horror fans. recently re-issued. CHECK IT OUT.
great. a great gory slasher film. forget about the plot and the mediocre acting, just relax and have fun. leave your brain at the door entertainment.
OOps,I tripped and fell into a pile of body parts, bad editing,a complete absence of anything even remotely resembling a plot, groin gouging, and a fat hairy janitor. This just isn’y my week.
SO bad… but oh SO good! I love this movie. Horrifyingly incoherent plot, hilariously bad script, one of the worst/best “twist endings” I’ve seen, a decent amount of nice nudity and gore… Definitely NOT a movie to take seriously, but a treat for fans who like cheese with their tits and blood!
One of my 5th favorite slasher films of all time. It had a good amount of violence, gore, and Nudity. The whole movie is you is the killer.
A good treat for slasher fans.
so bad its awsome!loads of gore nudity bad acting crazy ass ending i loved every second!the killer even has kind of a giallo feel it rocks trust me.
the ukbeast finaly got his paws on it an hell yeah its a classic pure cheese please
80′s slasher cheese and I was very pleased. The kills in this movie were some of the best I’ve seen (specially for the 80′s.) Loads of gore, nudity, and a good twist. Great opening seen to start it all off. Got this suggested by Eli Roth, off the internet who really pushes this film as his favorite film and I am so happy I found this dvd for my collection. If your a slasher fan watch this movie you will love it.
Supercheesy and unintentionally hilarious but absolutely brilliant slasher classic.
Horrible plot? Dreadful dialogue? Lame cast? Characters that constantly doing illogical and pointless things? Nevermind! ‘Pieces’ has some great tension, wonderful atmosphere, an insane amount of gore (believe me, it is that gory all the time!) and some absolutely priceless moments you’ll never ever forget (the kung-fu teacher that ate bad chop suey and therefore kicks people at night, the undercover cop who is also a tennis champion and loves to scream the word ‘Bastard’, the boy who hacks his mother to pieces because she discovered his porn mags, etc. etc. etc.).
I will take a genuine cheesey GOLDEN Era horror flick over the lame excuse for a slasher film they
call these days. Yeah, so what there were some stupid scenes BUT it is a great WHO DUNIT.
“It’s exactly what you think it is”.
This is an absolute must see for slasher/gore fans. Blood and gore galore baby! The GRINDHOUSE re-issue is absolutely superb.
Hand me some more cheese please.
How can you go wrong with this Spanish gem, you can’t! Broken mirrors, chainsaws, gore, and karate kicking included.
cheesy classic horror; the lift scene, where the guy is hiding the ‘tiny’ chainsaw behind his back so the girl doesn’t notice it immediately is just hilarious
This is pure gold for those who like their horror with a generous helping cheese. Incredibly entertaining with plenty of gore and hilarious goings on Pieces is a begging for a MST3K style roasting so grab some buds and brews; its a hell of a good time! The ending while ridiculous, is ballsy to say the least
cool movie to watch, but almost the worst movie I’ve ever seen. just smoke some weed, drinks some beers and it’ll be fun.
This might very well be one of the goriest movies ever made, which of course is the redeeming quality. It’s delightfully (but probably at the time unintentionally) and deliciously campy as hell. I loved the way prolonged repetitive “Bastard!!!” screamed by the main character after she finds a victim. One issue (of many of course) with this film is that none of the victims are actual characters in the movie (except the news reporter who gets stabbed on the waterbed- great scene!) I would have thought someone who delivered as fantastic of a line as “The most beautiful thing in the world is smoking pot and fucking on a waterbed at the same time” would have surely been a chainsaw magnet, but she’s never heard from again after the final view of her -fully covered- “pectorals”. Great for gruesome gore. I suggest playing it in the background at a Halloween party, so people can optionally pay attention to it. This is the finest finest example of a “so bad it’s good” movie I can think of. And that last ridiculous scene… what a moneyshot!!!
The posters and advertisements for Juan Piquer Simon’s “Pieces” claim that you don’t have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre; and so you don’t. Most of the film takes place at a New England college campus; where a chainsaw-wielding psychopath is joyously slicing and dicing his way through pretty men and women, although preferably and mostly the latter. What you get is a cross-breed of slasher and detective narrative clichÃ
