[Remember This?] ‘Freddy Vs. Jason’ And Being Careful What You Wish For

Gremlins is being re-booted. Ghostbusters 3 is apparently being remade. I’m sure there’s a large audience for these somewhere out there, but after hearing from you guys it’s not necessarily people who make up the BD community. I think that’s a wise stance in some ways. I’m not saying these films can’t be good – it’s entirely possible that either one of them will turn out to be amazing – it just doesn’t seem likely. READ MORE

Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Still Developing ‘Evil Dead’ Remake?

It has been over seven years since Sam Raimi revealed he’d remake The Evil Dead instead of allowing New Line Cinema to make their wildly original/demanded Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Now, producer Robert Tapert is telling website Freep that Ghost House Pictures is still developing a modern take on the film that tells the tale of a group of friends who go to a cabin in the woods, where they find an unspeakable evil lurking in the forest. “It’s possible; we’re looking at a script this month,” Tapert said. “What’s interesting about ‘Evil Dead’ is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. … I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.” The film marked the birth of horror star Ash (Bruce Campbell), who rocks a chainsaw in the place of one of his hands (which happens in the sequel). You’re Getting ‘Freddy vs Jason vs Ash’… As a Comic!

Remember back in March of 2005 when Bloody-Disgusting officially declared Freddy vs Jason vs Ash dead? What followed was our exclusive look at the astounding treatment (download it here) that was near-greenlit over at New Line Cinema. Written by Jeff Katz, the project almost took flight until Sam Raimi bailed at the last second only to announce a remake of The Evil Dead, which looks like that will never happen. It was devastating to me personally as I was a huge fan of the treatment and thought that it could have been one hell of a sequel. Here we are two years later with some big news, Freddy vs Jason vs Ash is now coming… as a comic book! Read on for the skinny. (more…) READ MORE

Five Clips from Anchor Bay’s ‘Left in Darkness’

One of the best parts of Freddy vs Jason was that it starred the sexy Monica Keena, which is the main reason I’m going to check out Anchor Bay’s Left in Darkness (review), which streets next week. Today we were provided with a few clips from the film, which can be found inside. ‘Left In Darkness’ illuminates the story of Celia (Keena), a troubled girl whose tortured past places her in spiritual and physical limbo. FD3 Stars Joins Cast of Fox’s ‘Wrong Turn 2′

Regular B-D scooper Joey M. discovered over at Crystal Lo’s official website that she, and Texas Battle have joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s Wrong Turn 2. Both Lo and Battle stared together in Final Destination 3, and Lo can also be seen in the upcoming remake of Black Christmas. This installment centers on Ma and Pa, the inbreds (also brother and sister!) who spawned the deformed villains seen in the original movie; the murderous couple terrorize the contestants on a SURVIVOR-style reality show who wind up getting lost in the savages’ woods. ‘Freddy vs Jason 2′ Dead….. BUT B-D’s Got More!!!!

So what’s better than the word “but”? You all know that it means I’ve got a card up my sleeve, “but” what is it? So our buddies over at Creature-Corner just talked to Toby Emmerich over at New Line who said once again they aren’t doing anything with Freddy vs Jason 2 right now. We just go back and forth, they say no, we say yes. But now I can squeeze a little of juice out, just enough to get you excited. If you actually read into my old news posts about Creature-Corner debunking FvJ 2, I imply that sure FvJ2 might not happen, but maybe something else will? If I told you the details right now, I’d have to kill you, but what I can say is New Line Cinema is working on something HUGE- MAMMOTH- EARTH-SHATTERING. Keep your eyes posted here, your best source for all things Freddy and Jason! (more…) READ MORE

We’re Like a Bunch a Bickering Babies!

The fun of writing for a website is news travels at the speed of light- so when someone says one thing, it can be contested within hours. So speaking of vs. we’ve got a little brawl going down with those good guys at Creature-Corner, and it’s a blast because I love those guys and respect them with all my heart. The best part is we both have our own connections and are getting different vibes from New Line regarding the next Freddy vs Jason- or whatever it may be. Although we continue to disagree with the future of the franchise, (it made $80 million in the US alone guys!) C-C did have an interesting news post, where fans can help give New Line some ideas for future films. Read on for the scoop… (more…) READ MORE

We Can Dream a Little Dream Can’t We?

Yes it’s actually kind of creepy how accurate this little animated fan-made trailer for Freddy vs Jason vs Ash is. It’s got the plot almost down to a friggin’ “T” and it’s pretty amazing. The creator of this animated short composed the trailer from several peoples accounts online and sure did a hell of a job. So enough of my constant jabbering, click here and feast your eyes on what could have been- thank Raimi for that (I couldn’t agree more). (more…) READ MORE
