One of my favorites, anything with Jason in it gives it a good score from me! Wasn’t scary but very entertaining.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this movie!!! The acting was HORRIBLE and the lines throughout were some of the cheesiest I’ve EVER heard in a horror. I would only recommend this movie to younger fans of the horror genre.

You know there is a lot of hate for this film by many fans of both series(come on, chances are if you like Freddy, you like Jason too, I do). But it was pretty good. Some of the acting was a bit over the top, some of the lines are cheesy, but this is a slasher film. The fact that we are getting a solid backstory, we should at least give some leahway for them. This story is much better than the “Freddy was a counselor and molested Jason when he was younger” story.
We also get a kind of backstory of where Jason’s first mask came from. I mean really in Friday the 13th II, Jason wears a burlap sack, as if he cares what his victims will think about the way he looks. Here we get a reason.
We do get some characters who are just “kil em” characters and that is very much Jason type characters as well as TnA and sex which is all Jason, than we get the plot being a Freddy story. It balances out very well. So stop hating on this, its a dream match. You want a VS film to puke too, watch King Kong Vs Godzilla.

The first time I saw FVJ in the theaters, I was very pleased. I waited my whole life and engaged in countless arguments over “who would win”? So, back in ’03 when this pup finally hit the big screen, I was easily entertained. I thought the story was a fine template for getting these two icons to meet, and I thought the direction was slick. The final battle was kick-ass, gory and hilarious. Like I said before, very pleased.

NOW, I took another look at FVJ on DVD so my lady-friend could see what is essentially the last film for both franchises for the time being. I have to say, not digging it nearly as much as I did when it hit theaters. The lead characters are REALLY lame, the chick from Destiny’s child is REALLY lame, and Freddy Krueger is REALLY lame. I also don’t like the look of Jason. I’m glad they brought the hockey mask back to a non-eviscerated state, but his big-ass pullover is f’ing ridiculous looking. We have the grunge-band Jason, ready to fuck up your next rave.

I do appreciate the creativity, and the amount of violence… but the journey you have to make before the final showdown is too long, tests the nerves frequently, and is over before you can say, “Rick, you little meatball.”

FVJ is more entertaining than ‘Jason Goes To Hell’ and anything past ‘Nightmare 4′, but it doesn’t fare well upon repeated viewings. Valiant effort, but overall flawed on many levels. I’ll take a stand-alone movie from either franchise any day over this.

This movie was pretty good I liked the way that freddy manipulated the one girl Kia into walking right into Jason and then when he just slammed her and she went flying that was hilarious I bought the movie and watched that part over and over!

    urgh! rubbish.

I guess I’m old but it just didn’t work for me!

Weak and it wasn’t even fun.

But i guess it’s fun after a few beers. Actually a lot of beers.

Loved it…Very fun to watch…loved how they ALMOST worked together towards the end to kill Kia. I didn’t grow up watching horror flicks. If I had been big fans of Freddy and Jason in the beginning of their existence I might have a diff. opinion, but as it stands, what a sweet bloody fun movie!

Wow. This was excellent. When i watched this i was actually surprised. So much that i watched it again right afterwards. The only downfall was some cgi that did not work but other than that the movie was fantastic. The story is great and the final bringing together or two horror icons so many years in the making really worked and made alot of fans very happy. Also this movie has sparked a new love for freddy and jason both. I hold this up as one of the better freddy’s a a pretty good jason.

Often overlooked. I loved this one, a lot. This is a major breakthrough in both film franchises. I liked the feel that this film gave off. It was like I was watching a Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street movie mixed with a little humor. I really hope this paves the way for more horror icons to join the fight.

I hated this movie the acting was the worst out of all the Freddy’s and the Fridays, the script was crap the directing was garbage everything about this movie could have been better alot better!!! I feel like crap doging on this movie so much but I’m not gonna act like I liked it when I HATED it!!! It breaks my heart that KANE HODDER wasn’t in this one… For GOD sake he IS Jason!!! I really hope that this one DOSE get remade!

An incredible fun, stylish, exciting, awesome, entertaining horror film that’s easily as good as the original ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ and precisely 10 times better than ‘Friday the 13th’.

More of a Nightmare film then a Friday film but still a fun film to watch. Made a lot of money this still is a good film the fight scenes were awesome I
can say I enjoyed, but it did have weak spots. But still recommended.

I have to say this is one of the best Horror/Thriller movies i’ve ever seen; The fight scenes were just awesome, and Jason voorhees was great. If you haven’t seen this film, you need to see it, it is just great..Alot of people want a freddy vs jason 2, and i’m one of them. Some people was freddy vs jason 2 with michael myers, leatherface, or even ash…I would love to see a sequel, if it ever happens…

Surprisingly sucessful at blending to series together, although favoring the nightmare series a tad more, which is understandable, you definatly see a bad ass jason that was existing in parts 3 & 4, which was a treat to watch, there was minimal plot holes, nothing to much to ruin the experience though. great stuff. but dont ruin this by making a crap sequel

I can’t believe how many people are giving this 4-5 skulls. I thought it was dull. I was never once as thrilled, excited or even interested as I was in the worst sequels from each respective franchise. The acting was bland, the characters underdeveloped…I could find hardly a thing to like in this.

The movie that tried to combine two classics……Well it had terrible acting, the characters siding with jason felt wrong….I wanted to be scared of them both…The fight scenes between the two were pretty dumb…The coolest part I guess is jason slaughtering the party. I hope they dont make a sequel..as they shouldnt have made this one. Ill give it more props then it deserves because it has 2 of the greatest horror killers of all time in it.

Loved every single minute of it.
I love how the majority of the cliche’s were used but in a surprising way that made them original. My favourite death was probably the guy who was stabbed like twenty times then the bed folded up on him (priceless)
I would rate this a 10 but it lost a star on account that freddy only got one kill in the movie.

Good movie , not great but not awful and it paid respect to both franchises. The thing I really hated about it though was that the script writers and director chose to treat us , the audience like we are 2 year old idiots and have Krueger explain what was happening every bloody time he was on screen. It ain’t Shakespeare and wasn’t hard to follow. Secondly there were hardly any dream sequence kills , Jason did most of the slashing so would have been nice if they both had an equal share of victims. Besides those two gripes it was pretty fun to watch two horror icons slash each other to shreds and it was good to see Kelly Rowlands get slammed into a tree. Recommended cheesy fun but give me Nightmare 1,3,4 and Friday 1,2,3,4 anyday.

I gave it a 2 because there isn’t anything less that I can access.
They should have called this movie: “Harry vs Lloyd”, because that’s what I felt like I was watching the entire time.
Neither one of these two were scary, none of the scenes were scary or even creepy. It was a nightmare alright…but not like what you were hoping. It was a mishmash of crap storylines, horrible acting and even worse character developement.
It was like they thought:”Hey, people are horny for J vs F right now…let’s throw darts at a story board, put in some cursing, some titties, a few neat CGI effects, totally fake looking gore and we got us a money maker!”
…And they did. Oh dear God.

Nightmare 1 messed me up for a while as a kid…and there wasn’t a titty one in it. It was a helluva story.
The Friday the 13th movies had titties, but they weren’t there just for titties’ sake. They all (well except 7,8,GTH and Jason X–aka Crapfest in Space) great stories.

STOP FUCKING UP GREAT CHARACTERS WITH CAPITALIZATION ON FRANCHISE POPULARITY YOU DOUCHEBAGS! Give me a Freddy and Jason that will scare the shit outta me! Not a retard with a big knife and Jim Carrey with bad pock marks.

This movie was pretty average, it had the potential to be good but just let me down. This movie should have been called “jason owns freddy” because freddy bareley did anything in it. Jason was going around killing everyone in brutal ways and freddy killed about 2 people in their dreams, and to top it all off the final fight freddy gets nailed, but by who???? Not by jason because that would make too much sense but by some stupid ass girl who decapitates him with jason’s machete. This movie did have alot of gore which is to be expected, two gory slasher franchises coming together in one big gory showdown. The special effects were alright, nothing too new or special. The deaths looked pretty realistic except when freddy got decapitated which looked like total b-grade. The suspense in this movie was in the toilet, I wasn’t scared for one second and there was no edge of your seat moments. Freddy reminded me of the joker in batman and jason was a bad ass like he always is. The best scene was when jason slaughtered all those frat boys at the party. The ending wasn’t all that great, I was expecting a huge climatic ending with pouring rain, a 20 minute fight scene, awesome moves from both freddy and jason, but no I did not get my wish. As soon as I heard that freddy vs jason was coming out, I pissed myself from excitement but I was always wondering in the back of my head “will they do it right?” but I was thinking no shut up they will do it right I mean come on it is freddy and jason after all. But I should have paid more attention to those thoughts because they didn’t do it right, infact they fucked it all up. The acting was just laughable, there was no stand out characters except for freddy and jason of course and everyone else sucked. That is about all of my complaints with this movie, but to be fair it wasn’t one of the worst movies Iv’e seen and it was kind of enjoyable, but they still didn’t make it right, this should have been a horror classic like evil dead or the original tcm but instead it was just basically a waste of time. I give this movie 4/10

This is the most under rated movie ever! This is the best Jason film in the series, and the best Freddy film in the series (even though i’ve only seen the first nightmare on elm street which was crap), there is never a dull or slow moment in this! Either Freddys killing or Jasons killing! ITS GORE MANIA! And it has a story, not a very good story but its got one. And the fight sequences are fantastic and really edgey I was sitting on the edge of my seat! This is brilliant! Two of the best movie villains battle it out! The only complaint I have is the ending, its good but it just feels like a waste of time!

Overall I really liked this movie. Its hard to believe that this movie was trying to be made for 12 or 13 years until it was finally given the greenlight. I liked the characters in this movie and the deaths were okay. I just wish they could have brought back old characters from the Friday The 13th & A Nightmare On Elm Street series to fight Freddy & Jason. It would have made the movie so much better and more entertaining. The only thing i’m not so fond of is the ending. If Lori brought freddy out into the real world, He should be DEAD after all the crap that Jason did to him, when freddy is in the real world he CAN be killed. Didn’t you see Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare? Anyways after chopping his head off with Jasons machete Lori & Will leave and then the next day or whenever it was Jason comes up from the lake once again holding Freddy’s head in his heands, then Freddy looks as the camera and winks. Like WTF how is freddy still alive after being brought out into the real world and killed. well anyways I liked the movie but i just hope they don’t make 10 sequels to the freddy vs jason.

Mr.Disgusting actually loved this film? What? Why? How? Are you serious!? Holy god this movie is laughably bad. Forget about it being scary, I left that at the dorr, I would have been happy with good acting. My god what a train wreck. The acting, the editing(So! horrible) the blood, dear god the blood. *small cut*-GUSHHHH!!!! Yup people, we got projectile blood. It was pink and purple at times too. Theres only two things I enjoyed in this movie…1-the opening BEFORE the title, and 2-the plot. Liked the idea of Freddy using Jason. But honestly, what a terrible movie that could have been SO good. I damn you Ronny Yu for wasting such great potential.

Pros: Fun death scenes, some great scenes with hot chicks

Cons: The acting was awfully bad.

Overall: A fun flick that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

This movie gives every fan boy exactly what they want. Thers’s Freddy and Jason, stupid teenagers (who dont watch horror movies), and BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD.
It’s best not to go into this movie with high expectations, because it is a monster movie, but its one to be taken for what it is. It’s just pure fun from beginning to end. I personally loved all the nods they gave to the older films, plus some new insight into their pasts (i.e. Freddy’s death and Jason bringing the bodies into that house in his mind). The direction of Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky) was perfect. He seemed to understand the campiness aspect of these characters, as well as the horror icon aspect.
Plotwise, it was very clever the way they brought these two characters into the same universe and made them completely themselves. This film counts as both a Freddy and a Jason movie, and I really don’t think it could have been handled any better.
It’s not so much whether you think they are scary or relevant anymore, but if you are a fan of either monster, it’s still just a joy to see these two horror icons on screen again.

Finally!!!!!! Jason was his true self since part 8. tgo me the friday series went bad after seven. the elm st. series all sucked after 1 except new nightmare. This movie brings freddy and jason back 2 there normal selves. the people in this movie were really smart and i had wanted them all 2 live. This movie had alot of blood and gore and was a return to the 80′s slashers but just with 2 killers battling each other. This movie was great one of the best movies of the year for 2003 besides the texas chainsaw massacre remake and wrong turn.

Well, I got exactly what I wanted out of this movie: some mindless fun with tons of dumb teenagers getting slaughtered by the handful. Overall, quite entertaining and somewhat silly. I think that all the scariness left these two franchises years ago, and when it was decided to make a film with these two icons of the horror genre, I believe that the makers wanted to make a film with these two doing what we all as audience members liked; the killings. I thought the story line was fairly reasonable, and seeing these two characters together in one movie was cool. So for everyone who kept writing about it didn’t scare you or have suspense, look back at both franchises and look how they went from these frightening killers to killers we just liked to watch kill. This film wasn’t made to scare, just to relive old times.

I love all the blood and gore when they slice at each other! I remember seeing this with a friend when it first came out. There were some parts we laughed at, some we thought were cool. I remember growing up and talking about the possible battle of these two horror icons on the playground as a kid. Hey, with the teaser of it happening at the end of Jason X, it was clearly inevitable. It took ten years for the inevitable to happen, and not only was I looking forward to the bloodbath that would be a result of these two colliding, but it would also be my first Freddy film on the big screen. I had just turned 16 and was ready for the movie I had dreamed about as a kid…

At the time, I was not disappointed even the slightest bit, hell, I even went back for more the following weekend! But as the years have gone by since it’s release, I’ve matured as a person and as a horror fan so I definitely look at it in a different light now.

The story really isn’t that bad, Freddy must resurrect Jason to terrorize some teens and refuel the fear in the people of Springwood. The story’s not what we’re here for though, as we just wanna see these titans clash. Could have really done without the Freddy narration as it cheeses things up, but it’s a sign of things to come as there are cheesy moments throughout.

The acting isn’t half as good as any of the other entries in either franchise, but somehow it just fits right in with the entire movie. Everyone involved knew the type of movie they were making so they didn’t hold back on what they delivered on screen. I love Monica Keena, and her overacting fits right in to the vibe of the entire movie, especially at the final battle in the end busting out lines like “Welcome to my world, Bitch!” and “This…ends…now”. Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps) puts in a decent performance, as one of the better actresses involved. And I’m not even going to comment on Kelly Rowland, well, I just did, but that’s it.

Robert Englund returns as our favorite dream demon (thankfully), but unfortunately he doesn’t get to stand toe to toe with fellow fan favorite Kane Hodder, instead he is replaced by Ken Kirzinger. I wouldn’t say Ken does a terrible job but I would have really liked to see the Kane Hodder Jason face-off with Freddy, especially since both franchises have decided to go with different actors for their reboots, would have been a nice conclusion to the characters for both.

Jason gets most of the kills, but overall it does feel more like a Nightmare film rather then a Friday entry. Ronny Yu does a decent job with what he has to work with, but a more qualified horror director would have been much appreciated. He delivers some entertaining kills like the death bed bend and the corn field massacre, but the horror itself is nowhere to be found.

The main event, the mighty showdown we’ve all waited years for takes place as the conclusion to the movie (naturally). This is where, they got the movie right, as it’s a complete bloodbath filled with awesome brutalness throughout the fight. Both smack each other around until they go flying (ya…flying) on to a dock, where we see some nice slicing n dicing take place, including both taking shots at each other using each others known weapons. Until the final blow is made by Monica Keena, completely taking Freddy’s head off his shoulders using Jason’s machete as she’s all wet, bloody and pissed off (and I’m not complaining!) Overall, it’s a fun popcorn flick that delivers what we’ve all been waiting for, all these years. It could have done without the bad acting and cheesy fight moments (pinball Jason. really?), but it’s an entertaining flick none the less…

    7/10

This is a damn fun movie, and for the most part, it IS what we all had been waiting for. I just can’t get over how bad the cringe-inducible dialogue is. “Wait, Freddy died by fire, Jason by water, how can we use that?” Yeesh!! Someone got paid to write that line?

The story was clever though, and the end battle was everything I had hoped for.

Freddy is dead! rotting in hell never to be seen again! but never the type to quit Freddy comes up with a plan! he finds someone he can use,Jason! Freddy tricks Jason into going to elm st and start killing the teens. when the teens start geting killed only 1 name comes to mind-Freddy! now the kids start to fear Freddy again he has the power to come back! but its not that easy- Jason is a killing machine who will stop at nothing! he wants all the teens dead, but if all the teens in elm st are dead then Freddy is gone for good! so now its time for 1 of the greatest battles in horror history-FREDDY VS JASON! this is 1 of the best most fun horrors i have ever seen! if you havent seen it yet then go get it, you will love it!

Flawed but still fun. Every fanatics wet dream; so you kinda have to enjoy it to some extent.

I could’ve done without all the CGI effects (they just have no place in some movies, you know) All in all though, decent. But just the fact that it’s Freddy Krueger versus Jason Vorhees gives it bonus points.

My God! This movie kicks some serious ass! I was never into slashers before and couldn’t care less about Freddy, Jason or even Robert Englund. But this film converted me.
It’s nasty with a sense of humour. Freddy is funny and scary (great combo) and Jason can do wonders with a machete. The film also has a great look to it.
The story is good and it has all the cliches you would expect and it actually makes sense.
The only problems are Freddy’s make up which doesn’t look that realistic and his lack of kills. But the fight scenes and the humor are awesome. It actually make up for Freddy’s kills by having him totally butcher Jason.
This film is slasher fans dream. It a travesty of cinema that there was never a sequal with either Ash or the Shape.
Best Slasher Movie EVER. Robert Englund is king!

Awesome movie!!! Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street; the killer of your dreams… Vs … Jason from Friday the 13th; the hockey masked killer from Crystal Lake… Whats not to like after two brilliant franchises brought together into one, with a really good storyline; Freddy rises Jason from hell to kill the people of Elm Street to make them scared and think Freddy is back, but Jason keeps killing and Freddy now must stop Jason; and it has an awesome ending bloody fight scene!!! One of the best horror movies I have ever seen!!!

If this movie was a solo movie for either Jason or Freddy, it would have been mediocre. However, with both of them and the epic fight that takes place at the end, it is one of my favorite genre pictures. It’s a guilty pleasure but it’s an extremely fun one.

I couldn’t agree more with j34ngr4y, MikeIsEvil, Hell’s Trailboss, Ashwilliams95, and a bunch of others who stated that it wasn’t scary, bad acting…etc…etc. This has to be the biggest disappointment in horror movie history for me. From the acting, dialogue, story, you name it. It was a complete joke. I am a hardcore horror fan and been collecting Fangoria magazine ever since I was in elementary school, and that was in the 80′s. But I suddenly stopped buying them right after I saw this movie. I know it’s just a movie, but it seriously affected me in a big way. It did take me a while to get back into the swing of things, but I have yet to buy a Fangoria magazine to this day. The only thing I liked about this movie was Freddy and his glove of course. I hated Jason’s look, especially his machete, and hated the cast. I did not like the fighting scene not one bit, well, maybe the end fight a bit, but that’s it. Most of the people at the theater enjoyed it, but by the end, I was just sitting there, total silence, while most were clapping and cheering. I was in total shock, but what can you do, not everyone has the same opinion. By the time I got home, I had to watch all the Freddy & Jason movies just to take this peace of garbage out of my head. It was like therapy for me. Now that we’re in the remake era, they should definitely remake this movie, hahahaha.

i absolutely hate this movie. i am a huge fan of both franchises, have multiple releases of every movie, action figures, comics, books, most of the merchandise…but this simply does justice to neither, and my biggest gripe is this is not jason in this movie. whereas many consider it both a f13th sequel and a NOES sequel, i consider it just another freddy movie, and one of the worst.

where to begin? jason is portrayed like no jason in any of the 10 f13ths prior to this. he is slow and dimwitted, lanky, and flat-out boring. nearly every kill is standard machete slashing…watch every f13th made before this…yes he likes the machete but the majority of kills are using different tools, his bare hands, doing things you’ve never seen before. in this he just walks around like a lifeless zombie and slashes people with a machete, not really looking capable of the force he exerts. furthermore, he’s frequently the butt of jokes, which automatically steers a movie of this magnitude in the wrong direction.

freddy is plain old freddy, but pretty stale at this point. no stand-out lines, no really freaky trippy dream sequences, and he’s not scary. the plot is the usual NOES plot…everybody is trying to forget about freddy so he can’t come back, and the parents are covering it up, keeping the kids on hypnocil to suppress dreams. nothing about the plot is f13th oriented…and it’s in springwood…on elm street, 90% of the movie. jason is used as a tool to bring freddy back, and a weak and boring tool at that.

and my god, the final fight scenes…freddy plays pinball with jason and says ’tilt’ as he drops him to the ground. this is the worst crap anyone could come up with. it isn’t tense…it isn’t edge-of-your-seat…it isn’t visually explosive, which it should be, because once again, freddy fighting jason is a big deal.

i guess i’m angered more than anything because i slightly favor jason…i’m a bigger jason fan, and this movie was completely missing the f13th element, with a jason that proves the makers are unaware of what he is and has been…they just know the basics…that you can read on the back cover of the movies.

in fact, ronny yu has stated openly that he turned this movie down first and that he is not a fan of the f13ths. he also admitted he did not sit down and watch the series to prepare for this movie…he’s just seen bits and pieces. so, for the showdown millions of hardcore fans have been dying for since rumors began 20 years prior, they get someone who’s not familiar with the f13th franchise and openly says he doesn’t like it. did someone just spit in my face?

out of all the thousands of directors in hollywood who are hardcore fans of these franchises, they had to have him. for the life of me i can’t understand it.

keep freddy campy…fine…but at least have a little budget for a movie of this importance… do some trippy, creepy effects with the dream sequences…do what you have to do to make the killers a little scary so when they go toe to toe it’s actually engaging. i’m not saying don’t have any humor in it, but don’t use it to make fun of the ones you’re supposed to be scared of.

i admit, kane hodder had gotten stale as jason over the years, but if he had been in this, it would have been a much different movie. i was expecting him. after all, he had done the past 4 f13ths and it was his mask freddy pulled into the ground at the end of JGTH.

kane would have snapped freddy like a twig…but i guess that’s the deal. freddy is new line’s baby and jason was adopted by them after 8 movies…they made this for freddy. after all it is called “freddy vs. jason”. yeah i have the flick because i’m a completist, but it goes with my NOES’s, not with my f13ths. major disappointment.

Never have I seen such a great V movie. Freddy and Jason are the best Iv’e ever seen them here. Pure evil, like they should be. When I said gore fest, I wasn’t kidding. I loved every gory death, the great suspense element and the terror was just imense. Jason was my favourite here by far. Then I saw it and I didn’t want to believe that it failed to live up to that hype…but sadly, failed it did. It’s not that it’s a terrible movie, but the very premise itself undermines any of the fear that these two horror icons once inspired. It’s more of a comedy than a horror movie. Much like the later Nightmare films (minus New Nightmare), Freddy somehow is resurrected after clearly being killed once and for all. So right off the bat there are major premises in the film that don’t add up.
On top of that, they decided to keep the lovable laughable joking Freddy from the weaker flicks, minus the killing. Freddy doesn’t do a damn thing in this movie, except fight Jason. It’s really a shame. With the technology now, and the fact that this would basically be the last time Robert would reprise his role, it seems like a waste to not let this character go out with a bang. Luckily, what little Freddy plays in this movie is perfectly performed by Robert.
Next problem: Jason. Okay, so Freddy has hit a new low with this movie, so you would think that Jason would make up for this, right? Wrong! Yes, he causes blood, mayhem, and violence… but nothing really original. I am not a fan of the Friday series, but at least the kills were usually thought out and creative. Not here. A couple of cool ones, but overall just nothing special. And another thing- this a movie asked for by fans, created for fans. So why not use Kane Hodder as Jason? I’m not sure why people like him the most, but they seem to think that he adds something to the character. The studio really should have given the fans what they wanted from this.
Then there’s the plot, which starts on the stupid idea that these two monsters who were both finished off in their own franchises are somehow back. The pile of crap just builds from there.
Acting: eh. Not the best, not the worst. Doesn’t matter anyway since the characters are flatter than ever.
Finally, the only reason this could possibly receive two skulls: the smack-down. Freddy and Jason fight twice in this movie. Once in the dream world and once in reality. The dream world fight isn’t that impressive, and the real world is way over the top. But it’s still FREDDY AND JASON, on the same screen, tearing into each other.
And that seems to be the only thing this film has going for it. The makers used that premise, which would be cool no matter how poor the actual film was (the finished product proves this), and did nothing else with it. Nothing creative, nothing new, nothing making this much needed for either franchise. This is literally as bad as they could make it.
This should have been about Freddy and Jason terrorizing teens in nice, creative ways leading up to a battle between to horror legends. Instead it was an hour and a half of teens setting up the big battle for them. Sad.

To the whiners bitching about this movie not being scary…WHEN was the last time a Friday or Nightmare film ever WAS scary?!? Seriously, you make it sound like this movie was a huge change of formula or something!

Anyways, I found this movie to be utterly enjoyable on every level! I liked the tall “Frankensteinish” version of Jason, and Freddy was top notch. It was especially cool seeing the rage Freddy at the end, all demon faced. The way they brought the two together was genius, and worked completely, contrary what some “fans” cried. My only real complaint, was the actress in the lead role. She sucked, plain and simple. Her bad acting and some poor dialogue from other characters keep this movie from raising above B movie status, no matter how fun it is.

I recommend to fans of both genre’s…but if you’re one of those Kane Hodder worshipers, you will probably miss him too much to enjoy this one. Though I don’t know why…we’ve had too many iterations of Jason over the years to cry foul.

This movie I have seen over 20 times, just really addictive to watch, watching Jason kicking Freddy’s ass is just fucking badass! The only thing I didn’t like about the film is the acting and the fact that they made Jason slower and too dumb. Jason first off isn’t dumb at all if you watch the previous movies and is really fast, now if they used the modern Jason(2009) vs Freddy, I’m sure that Jason would be a real good match for freddy. And where the hell did Freddy know how to fight in the real world? He always got his ass whooped in all his movie(A Nightmare On Elm Street) and would be punched by regular people and would fall like a pussy, so they upgraded Freddy but downgraded Jason. That’s the only things I have a disagreement on, but overall this movie was and is fucking incredible! I still wish they’d make a Michael vs Jason, or FVJVM..anything that has to do with them together.

Fuck all the haters of this movie. What did you expect when you went into seeing this movie?? It’s Jason and Freddy, pretty simple. Jason gets all the kills in this movie, which I approve of, being a hardcore Jason fanboy since I was like 2 years old lol, Freddy got that ONE kill in the whole movie lol. Don’t get me wrong, I like Freddy and everything but I was very glad they decided to let Jason win the battle (and we ALLLL KNOW Jason won this movie, despite what you say.) Monica Keena is fucking gorgeous and I would lick every arsenal on her body up and down, twice. I absolutely loved Jason’s appearance in this movie too, I don’t get why everyone rags on it!! It has the best mask of all 12 movies, and best clothing design too. I like watching him walk slowly and creepy like, stalking his victims, that’s what makes him Jason! Yes, he used to be a human being when in the first half of the series, and he used to run and everything, but this isn’t the first half of the series anymore— he’s a fucking zombie now, get over it! He doesn’t run anymore!!! He slowly stalks his victims with that very awesome kind of Frankenstein walk he has. (Like in the very first shot of him in the beginning of the movie, coming out of the fog chasing the girl through the woods. Brilliant.) Great movie, one of my favorite Jason movies next to Friday the 13th 2009, The Final Chapter, Friday the 13th part 2, Friday the 13th: Jason Lives, and then Friday the 13th part 1. (The only two Friday the 13th movies I absolutely cannot stand are Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X- those movies never should have been made, I want to fucking curbstomp whoever wrote those godawful movies. Jason in space?!?! Jason body!? What the FUCK!? I mean, Jason Takes Manhattan was pretty fucking bad– but seriously, Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X are like…. the worst fucking movies ever made… ever…… I loved the Friday the 13th remake in 2009, how they included parts 1 through 4 into one movie. Genius. So yeah, anyway, FvsJ is definitely up there in my favorite of the Jason flicks.

This movie could of been a lot better had they casted Hodder for the role. Could you imagine if they wouldn’t of casted Robert Englund? I always felt like the real draw was “Englund vs Hodder”. This movie had a very thrown together feel to it. There was so much forced storyline as if no one had ever seen the previous installments of these movies. The actors were all pretty unlikable and very “soap opera” like. On a good note though, We got to see two iconic horror figures throw down in one hell of a blood bath, with teenagers caught in the crossfires. Maybe this movie could of held out a bit longer just to have all the right pieces to the puzzle.

i LOVED this movie. i first watched it as a kid, and as a kid i was obsessed with the nightmare on elm street series and friday the 13th i was kind’ve a gore hound and horror obsessed, which i still am today. although this movie was not scary whatsoever, it was a fun entertaing flick.all i want movies to do is to entertain me, whether that be through scares, great storyline, being disturbing or creepy, or just plain fun. and this one was just plain fun. i thought it was great how they brought freddy and jason together because getting ready for this film i was always wondering how they would do it. this movie is like an adrenaline rush fun rollercoaster. and the fight scene between freddy and jason was freakin fantastic was it not? anyone who is fans of freddy, jason, or fun slashers will love this movie.

Just looking at the poster for this brings a smile to my face. Excellent story – line with mediocre acting but what do you expect, right?

This movie is so much fun :) Mindless gore, blood, body parts flying, boobies, humor, Freddy, Jason… How can any real horror fan not like this movie?? If you saw it when it first came out then it’s time to watch it again. It’s much better than most of the crappy remakes that take themselves way to seriously.

What happens when two of the greatest bad-asses (Jason Voorhees from “Friday the 13th” and Freddy Krueger from “Nightmare On the Elm Street”) in the history of horror are put together in the same movie? Yes.. Total Carnage! The Ultimate battle b/w Freddy and Jason was extremely fun to watch.. and i was really happy to see Freddy gettin’ his ass whooped by Jason lol which is obvious cuz Jason is my favourite out of the two.. although i like Freddy! the movie had a few dumb moments.. but hell.. that hardly made a difference! anyways, I have to say that fans of either series will be more than pleased, but other horror goers may not like it! i really hope they make a sequel with Mikey also in it.. since Michael Myers happens to be my favourite bad ass!

Very Fun and entertaining, scary and a great backround story. The mix of comedy and horror that this piece offers is not only a testament to the respective series’ this movie spins from, but proves a testament to Horror in itself, with both of the most well known and well feared Psychopathic murderers crossing paths, when Freddy makes an honest-to-bloodshed deal with the devil himself (Jason) but ends up with Jason keeping the bargain so much so Freddy may very well regret his pact, he may even lose his HEAD over all the stress! 9 out of 10,The movie is great but I must dock a star for lack of sequel. hah. great job.

Yes the movie was very good considering it consisted of two widely known horror icons but yet i must say screw you Ronny Yu. He said he didnt even like the Nightmare series or the Friday series quote saying he had never seen them. Kane Hodder was considered to reprise his role as the infamous Jason yet Ronny wanted someone tall with Poetic eyes. Jason is a killer he isn’t sad or poetic he kills people to avenge his mother. This guy had no rights taking the job as director. They should of hired someone who knew the series and could have made it better then what Yu did. I must say I want to see a second without Yu as the director.

Two of Horror’s greatest icons are face to face in an all-out battle… winner kills all. This was definitely a cheese-fest but it’s really entertaining. It’s got a hot new cast and some really awesome death sequences. I just expected the story to be better considering that it took so long to get made. (If I remember right, it was initially supposed to be made following Jason Goes To Hell.) Freddy is back on his A-game in this installment and I thoroughly enjoyed that!

    not bad at all
actually it could have been a lot better but still good
the creators of that movie based it’s success on the appearance of the two most popular horror characters on the same screen and with their fight they cought everybody’s attentiion
but their fight is the only appealing thing in that movie
otherwise it is as bad as they could make it,if you think that the acting is terrible, the murders are faker than Happy Tree Friends, the plot is retarded and the whole adaptation is stupid as hell
the only reason I like this movie is because it’s hilarious, violent and it has Jason and Freddy together
but the biggest disadvantage is the fake murders
I’m not a big fan of Friday the 13th,but at least the murders were realistic and creative

    Give me a sequel… NOW!!!

Seriously though, my GF met Robert Englund at some type of monster movie event. She took some pictures with him that he personally posted to FB and he said “There WILL be another Freddy Vs. Jason”…. this was recent (after the Freddy remake). SO I hope he’s not full of sh*t lol

Great movie it had lots of blood, boobs, and I think the fighting scenes between Freddy and Jason were sick. I’d give it a 9/10, the only thing I didn’t like was that it didn’t focus enough on Jason.

This could have been better if it werent for Ronny Yu screwing it up.I liked it anyway because its Freddy and Jason!!The fight scene was pretty good but the rest was kind of stupid.I know it is a movie but they could have made the gore a little more realistic.I dont like the whole spraying blood thing every time someone got killed.

The open up with a good intro and a brilliant bloody score and effects are awesome, for a Freddy & Jason fan I was happy with the battle between the two 80âe(TM)s/90âe(TM)s horror icons/legend and the plot was great & cool at the same time (for its premise), but the acting and directing was just plain bad, it add nothing new or scary for those who have never see it and was a letdown because Jason & Freddy were holding up the movie but nobody was giving a helping hand. All good with the effect & the blood & gore was nice and liked the music all in all it was good but bad at the same time could off been better for the two horror serial slasher killers legends.

Oh man, oh man, I can still remember seeing the trailer flash across my television for the first time, I cheered so loudly my mother actually yelled at me{yelled at for yelling, go figure}. The day I finally got to watch this…words cannot describe how happy I was. In my mind, it was the ultimate treat.
Now, the first time I watched it, I ended up feeling a little disappointed, but felt it was a solid effort. However, when I purchased a boxed set of Jason movies {From Crystal Lake to Manhattan} this movie was included, so I decided to watch it again, and you know what? The second viewing was better than the first! Make no mistake, the movie isn’t perfect, but movies rarely are, particularly horror movies. What I believe is that I hyped it up so much in my mind that I couldn’t simply appreciate it for what it was, and what this is, is a bad-ass, totally fun ride for those of us out there who truly do love these two horror icons. Cheesiness be damned, get over it and just ENJOY. :D

âeoeFreddyâe(TM)s Backâe and this time he has competition! Freddy vs. Jason is the ultimate face off of two of horror histories most iconic terrifying killers; Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Freddy, who has become weak after the people of Springwood have supressed their memories, seeks help from fellow killer Jason to reignite the screams and torture which Freddy feasts upon in a Sadomasochism way. However after Jason takes a kill from Freddy thus starts the fight of the decade! And there can be only one winner! This almost light-hearted humorous horror is excellent for those a fan of both antagonists which makes for a scary and funny film which will go down in history for this motley arrangement of scares. Robert Englund again plays a terrific and gruesome character certainly one who has given me a few nightmares, but who wantâe(TM)s a dull sleep? A king of horror, and personal idol, Englund once again gives such a brilliant performance as the razor fingered villain. Great camera work and special affects especially in the final scene, and the final fight of the film. Fans of the two horror franchises, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, will enjoy this showdown. The only downside being the shockingly terrible acting from dull actress Monica Keena, portraying Lori. Good Friday-night-fright, you can see why this film was a box office success.8/10

Kane Hodder was kicked off because he wasn’t “tall enough” and is replaced with Ken Kirzinger who was actually in Part 8 as a cook. The reason why I rated this so low was because I’m not a big fan of Nightmare on elm street and this was basically one of those and was very slightly a Friday the 13th despite the fact that Jason actually won! The fans had been waiting for this for years and it is a big disappointment especially the final showdown where they seemed to fly like superheroes when they get hit which was just cringe worthy. Probably the worst cross over film ever, I wonder how it would have turned out if the New blood became Freddy vs Jason as originally intended probably a lot better than this garbage.

Overall, it’s a good movie with an incredible introduction and a great ending. But, would have been much better if it was more a horror movie and less a horror/comedy.

Official Score: 4 / 5
