Well this will teach me that I should never go scuba diving in a foreign country…..Also if you do go make sure your accounted for….story line was good.
independent film with OK acting and decent survival plot. should see at least once
Ok movie…a bit pointless in the end though. Supposedly based on a true story, but the bodies were never recovered so we really have no idea what happened to them for real. Personally I think friendly dolphins swam them to a secluded tropical island, where they started a new, dolphin based religion.
I enjoyed the film.It felt like to me a floating camera was on water with them because the film was so effective and dramatic.I don’t look at this movie as a horror flick but more like a documentary of a real life couple and their end.Although I know it isn’t real.It seems so real! I really amazing movie that works on every level even the slow scenes seem to have you on edge. The actors were incredible!
This is the WORST movie that I have ever seen. I literally felt like I had wasted my life watching this.
Boring and tedious. Nothing happens. Maybe based on scary real life events…but doesnt turn into a movie well.
Interesting story, don’t expect a ton of action, it’s mostly tension and the horror of isolation in a hostile environment.
Prey’s on your psyche to scare you.If you have a big fear of being eaten alive by sharks, drowning, or drifting to death in the ocean this will eat at your stomach.Slow burn don’t expect DEEP BLUE SEA.Basically no gore,Barely sharks, but very well acted and well made Indie flick.
Gripping and pretty intense low-budget handheld-cam classic.
Not really a horror film but more of a powerful and horrifying out-of-sea drama.
A bit too slow-paced and tedious in the first half, yet incredibly tense and emotional in the second half, thanx to a convincing script, many brilliant dialogue lines and the amazing performances from Blanchard Ryan and Daniel Travis.
Highlights: the cool camera work, the stunning shark attacks and the absolutely outstanding ending.
Great! – 7,5/10
scary if you think about it
In 1998, an American couple – claiming the names of Tom and Eileen Lonergan – along with a boat filled with people went scuba diving for a good day; the twist to this tragic story is that these two individuals never returned from the trip. Apparently, as a result of an inaccurate, lazy headcount on the group supervisor’s account; the boat that they came in on left them behind while they were still submerged underwater. Onlookers of the sad, sad tale have come up with several theories surrounding their disappearance; it could have been suicide, it could have been the sharks that infested the waters that they found themselves stranded in for possibly days on end, or it could have even been a big ol’ hoax. All we know, at this point, is that the bodies were never found; although some of the duo’s scuba gear washed up on a beach.
Filmmaker Chris Kentis was inspired by this story, and sought to make a realistic shark feature that was free of all Hollywood clichÃ
There were quite a few pointless and shitty aspects to this movie, but the amount of good things about it outweighs those. This was an overall good movie.
