SD Comic-Con ’10: The ‘Skyline’ Opens Up in New Still

Colin and Greg Strause’s Skyline (set report) is high on my radar because I’m hoping for redemption. While Alien vs Predators: Requiem was pure blasphemy, this time the effects specialists-turned-directors have creative freedom to deliver their vision. No excuses. In theaters November 12, after a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them. First Casting News for Fox’s ‘Alien vs Predator II’

I really, really hated 20th Century Fox’s Alien vs Predator, which Paul W.S. Anderson just ruined in every aspect- but I’m not going to lie, I’m still pretty excited to see the sequel, Alien vs Predator: Survival of the Fittest. It was announced a few months back that Greg and Colin Strause would direct off a script by Shane Salerno, today the first casting news has come in. Read on to see who’ll star in hopefully a much better film. (more…) READ MORE

Director(s) Found for Fox’s ‘Alien vs Predator 2′?!

In the past decade or so, the single most disappointing film I’ve seen is easily Paul W.S. Anderson and 20th Century Fox’s Alien vs Predator. When Fox announced they were ready to gun out Alien vs Predator 2 for an August 207 release, my skin crawled. I seriously thought the first AvP would signal the sure death of both franchises, but now the joke is that this one will seal the deal. But good news from the grapevine, as it’s rumored that Anderson will not be returning as director. Read on to see the rumor(more…) READ MORE

Another Look at Fox’s ‘Alien vs Predator’

After I posted my ultra negative review of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Alien vs Predator here, it seems like half of B-D is on my side and the other half is against me- there is no middle ground. We’ve been trying to maintain order around here and I’ve been answering dozens of emails either bitching at me or praising me for my honesty. Well, I’ve been waiting for a few more reviews to come on in to either help back me up or totally bash my head in- and Mike Periera’s review only helped me out.
