wtf? lame not even scary or good. suckiest ass movie ever!
Delivers the chills, but in the end, the movie sucked.
Really dull.
Well i must say that it scared me alot when i was 10 but now i think its kind of boring but a good movie.
Another movie i wanted to see real bad and when i did it sucked.
I hated this.
Yea, terrible movie. They could have made it scary as hell but instead made it a PG13 middle schooler movie
Maybe studio execs will get the point that they are single handedly killing the horror genre with this kid friendly crap. Never mind….Prom Night.
Uninteresting, not entertaining, very boring, slow moving with nothing to get scared of or excited by
Wow….just wow…..
My favorite Ghost House movie after 30 Days of Night.
I beg you, do not watch this movie. Pure rubbish.
Another cheesy horror. Not scary at all.
This film has to be the worst film i’ve ever seen the sequel is excellent but this is just a bad thriller (not a horror film)
Boogeyman just sucks. It isn’t scary, it isn’t funny, and the acting is just stale. The movie has it’s moments but that’s it. This movie was such a disgrace. I don’t remember it that much to give a full review like I usually do but I remember that Boogeyman wasn’t really that good and just another PG-13 horror flick to make a quick buck.
boring!
A friend actually gave me this movie and said that I could keep it. As soon as I watched it I realized why he gave it to me. This movie was one of the worst I have ever seen.
Honestly, When This Movie First Came Out On Dvd I Bought It Thinking It Was Gunna Be A Really Interesting Movie But Not Scary At All.
Well I Watched It…And Then I Threw It In The Trash & NEVER Watched It Again.
Nope, Not Because It Was A Bad Movie..But Because Saddly…It Scared The Crap Outa Me! OMG! It’s Like One Of The VERY FEW Horror Movies To Scare Me.(The Grudge is the only other one to scare me)
Enh… not the WORST movie, watch it late and drunk and its…. ok i guess
shit.
Not bad. Just kinda slow and Barry Watson isn’t really leading man material. The beginning and the end are the best parts.
a really great story, original, creepy, complex. Only problem (and the reason why those here don’t like it) is that it was not a horror, it was more a ghost story, but damn near the best ghost story I’ve watched. Very emotional and a little too deep for the gore fans.
not great, only good thing is the gorgeous Emily Deschanel
loved it x10! scared the shit out of me!
Ok, listen up. This is scary, don’t get me wrong, but is lame at the same time. The plot is very predictable, the acting is outragous and the “boogeyman” sucks. It does have a few scares, but few that they are come rarely. Infact, that’s all I am going to say. This is a massive let down, and a massive waste of your and my money!
2/10
Wtf this is awful not very good at all!
I hate this film like I hate Hitler.
Why in the world would anyone watch this?
What is wrong with cinema?
I couldn’t finish the movie on one sitting.
I had to stop the DVD, recover for a week, and watch the last half hoping for something great. NOTHING
omg! i rented this movie one night, but i didnt get to see it i fell asleep when it started.
Kripke is a genius, he gave us Supernatural, after all. You can see he WANTED Boogeyman to work, he tried creating a scary monster that is made by childrens’ fear, so I can forgive him for this little indiscretion. I blame Stephen Kay.
Another boring, shitty PG-13 horror movie that I turned off halfway through because I could no longer stand it. Avoid like the plague.
garbage.
This is just…awful. Confusing…
UGH. WHAT.
Awful movie, but the CGI were even more awful
Made in New Zealand haha Still this movie really isn’t that great only watch this if you have to babysit younger kids or you just bored and have nothing better to do with your time.
ooooh Charles Mesure was in this sucked he died,
he’s a BRILLIANT BADASS actor but the movie and the cgi really fuckin’ sucked!
I realy liked the thought of a boogeyman film but this falls about ten feet short. the atmosphere was wierd but there wasn’t really anything to call it horror. it was a wanna be. nothing more. I agree with BD it was overall girly. that’s it. it’s good if you have nothing to do
Crap stay away.
I did skip the movie because of the poor reviews it had, when Boogeyman 2 and 3 came out, i was first to see them.
So saw them before I saw this movie, I really liked Boogeyman 2 and I think Boogeyman 3 is really good.
This movie starts of really good. A kid is sleeping in he bed but keeps seeing shadows, which he thinks it’s the Boogeyman. (I am sure we all can relate to that scenes, i don’t know how many times I thought of that when I was kid), To me that as got to be one of the best start to a horror movie, then dad comes into movie telling it everything is okay, then the kids see’s dad get killed by something the closet.
Then the movies movie 20 year later now the boy is older male who still scared of the Boogeymam.
As the movie keeps going on, it’s lose the creepiness it had at the start of the movie, however there another scene that I really liked was that little girl who was screaming in the hospital that scene was really intense.
Acting in this movie not outstanding but still really good.
It’s not the worst movie I have ever seen, it could have been a lot better too however it’s the weakest of series, the sequels are much better.
i had some high hopes for this film as its something everyone has heard of through their childhood, but i was sadly disappointed, it lacked a strong plotline and as for the boogeyman himself, he was just not scary enough.
I really liked the backstory they came up with for the Boogeyman and made this movie an intense, psychological thriller, rather than a half-assed attempt to cash in on a movie title and “scary” images. OH WAIT, THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS PIECE OF SHIT WAS. It’s a sad, sad day when someone says that this movie wasn’t even as good as Darkness Falls. Ouch. More information here:

laughable. Not worth watching, really.
I think the thing that really killed this movie, other than the fact that it does NOTHING to make you care about the characters at all, was the fact that they showed the boogeyman and he looked like a fucking zombie of an Oliver Twist character… it was retarded.
When I first saw this movie, I thought it was terrifying and good movie. Now that I have watched it when I’m older, I think its less scary, but it still a good movie.
