While not my top pic of TIFF’s midnight madness lineup, going to the loved ones – it definitely took 2nd.

I loved the storyline and the great cast, not to mention that crazy ass slow-mo scene with at least 20 actors on the screen… loved it.

i saw this on wednesday. i didnt mind it. wouldnt go mental over it, but would watch it again. the storyline has major potential, BUT it seemed really rushed. theyve tried to squash so much story into such little time, it would have worked better as a trilogy maybe. the begining part really sucked me in, and i feel they should’ve focused more on the subsiders in some parts. the acting did seem abit wooden at times, but not by any of the main cast.

I saw it at midnight, the theatre was packed! I must say i was very impressed with this view on vamps. It kept me entertained all through out.

Great action moments especially the scene at the end when they were all killing each other that was really epic and sweet.

The director did leave it open for a second but will see if the director will produce another one or just keep it where he left it for us to conclude in our own minds.

The whole thing just felt “off.”

The plot formula, though typical, could have been pulled off. Too bad any chance the movie had to be slick and fun turned into shit because the actors never seemed to read their line quite like the writer intended. The cinematography was also lacking. Nothing made me cringe more than seeing the 3 leads posing for some teen television show after the “cabin” scene.. Of course, the occasional cool shots didn’t make an impact because the movie felt so “off.” I just couldn’t ease into the story because everything didn’t mesh well together.

I understand the film was on a budget, but I’ve seen WAY better camera work and acting in Cry Wolf which was made for a mere $1 million..

If you’re determined to see it, it isn’t too awful, although I was ready for the ending about 45 min too early..

It’s sad to see original (kinda) horror getting a chance on the big screen and fucking up. Why the hell didn’t Trick ‘R Treat get distribution if this mediocre film did??

This movie was better than I expected… I didnt exactly expect much. The ending was alright, except that a ‘hero’ barged in everytime the main characters needed help. Overall its worth watching, kind of a cool plot, despite the less than award winning worthy acting. Much better than the brothers last movie “undead”.

I thought the movie fell short to be honest I felt bored and I was a little irritated I had to finish it. The story goes no where in a variety of ways if that makes sense, the effects were not too great but done good I suppose for the budget. I don’t know with all the vampire stuff going on right now I would just say let this one fade with the trend as much as it hurts to say about this one…

Saw this on Friday and really enjoyed it. Great script by the Spierig brothers. Lots of fun, some great performances and it was nice to see some gore in theaters for a change. I haven’t had that luxury since SAW VI. Ethan Hawke was good in his performance as Edward. Willem Dafoe is 2 for 2 in recent months with this film and of course Antichrist. The movie does set up for a sequel and I would definitely show up again for a possible Daybreakers 2. So the horror scene has gotten off to a good start and hopefully Lionsgate will return to greatness as it once did. One can only hope.

First I would like to just state the fact that this film is probably not going to get some of the credit it deserved. Many reviews I read for the film say the script was bad or there was a plot hole here or there. I’d like to say that they did not watch the ‘Daybreakers’ I saw. Haha sucks for them.

The ‘Daybreakers’ I saw was an incredibly imaginative, well thought out, well scripted, well filmed, and well acted film. The Brothers Spierig are the next duo in kinling film making. I don’t think there was even remotely close to remotely think about remotely being bored with this movie. From the first time Ed Dalton (Hawke) shows up as a bodyless suite in a mirror, I knew I was actually watching a real VAMPIRE movie.

Speaking of Hawke, he was so freaking great in this movie!!! I loved his character, as well as Dafoe’s. Elvis… AAAHHH! so awesome (film released on the King’s b-day = perfection). Everything about their characters was positively superb. And that brings me to Bromley (the devishly debonair Sam Neill). So many of the reviews I read are against him, why? He was an excellent villain (his first?) while everyone is claiming he was poorly written. I personally don’t believe this as he was most likely the most dynamic of the characters, I just don’t think people understood his (Bromley) reasons for acting the way he did in the situations in the film. **SPOILER ALERT** HIS DEMISE WAS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! ALSO THE ENDING TWIST OF THAT GREAT BLOOD FEAST!!! **

I honestly can’t pick my favorite part. The whole movie kicked severe amounts of ass. Elvis, Dalton, Bromley, the Brothers Speirig; all having equal parts of ownership in the film and all of its uniqueness. In my human eyes, the flick is… a 10.

I was very impressed! I thought it was very different to be a vampire flick. My wife thought it was goofy and pointless. But what do women know.LOL jk. Great cast too.Ethan’s best work in forever.I hate Isabel Lucas wasn’t in it more and how her story ended. What can I say, she sucks me in!:) but overall the vampire thing gets old.u think what else can u do with a vampire flick that hasn’t been done a million times!? But then u get a jewel like this! Definitely check it out!

Very entertaining vampire movie! The “starving” vamps were wicked cool, and some of the gore was awesome to say the least! The only thing bothering me though…if the vampire society was so sophisticated, then how could they let their entire food source dry up like that?!? What, the idea of actually breeding humans as cattle never occurred to them?
Anyways, besides that huge gap in logic, the movie was a blast, and I still recommend it.

Omg… is this… is this a REAL vampire movie? One without sparkly daywalking, nancy boy, lame assed teen angst characters that someone would have us believe are vampires? This movie, while not perfect, is about as good as it gets nowadays within the vampire genre. The Spierig Brothers have once again proven that they may well be the future of horror/sci-fi, I mean, just LOOK at how beautiful the cinematography is here. The concept is sound, the effects are mostly great (cgi blood never looks good, one day filmmakers are gonna realize that and bring back the ol’ Karo syrup), and I wasn’t bored once during the entire movie (something I can’t always say). One niggling little detail, though: the plot twist and how it makes the rest of the movie play out… never seen it before, but it also didn’t feel quite right, either. But hey, great flick that everyone should stop and make time to support. They seriously don’t crank out gems like this one anymore, especially with *ahem* Twilight and The Vampire’s Assistant roaming around.

I went to see this for my birthday and what a treat. I was so glad to see it, if anyone loves vampire then this is your type of film the story is great, the vampires look cool, the actors are great. The only let down was that Isabella Lucas was in it for such a short time. A must see film, 8 out of 10 stars for me.

Finally a REAL vampire movie. With exploding sun dying vampires. NOt glittery romantic shithead dressing models you see on the posters in every mall. Those lady’s and gentlemen are not vampires. Those are weak homos.

But this movie even though having somed dry parts, made up in the gore and action department. Even though not having awhole lot the last 20 min’s was AMAZING. With a Matrix part added in there. Sam neil needs to play more baddies.

So go out and spend your bucks on a real vampire movie not a shitty one your girlfriends drag you to.

This movie had the potential to be great. However, as has already been stated they rushed it and as a result it falls well short of it. Secondly, the editing left a great deal to be desired. This needed to be and could quite easily have been done as a trilogy. There were tons of opportunities to expand on the very strong plot, but unfortunately few were taken. Slow paced and missed opportunities make this a 6/10

This film tired to be somewhat original, for that I give it props. The fact is that can’t make up for the problems it has. I appreciated the gore fx and makeup, they did a great job with that, but that alone does not save a movie as so many think it does. The movie is slowly, and even oddly paced at times. The script seemed to just be average. There was nothing special here, the acting was average as well. Nothing blew me away in this movie, it lacked suspense and overall creativity with the vamps themselves. I found the twist to be interesting, so in my book that’s a good thing to an extent. Overall the movie was a dud, it didn’t deliver much in the way of horror and terror.

I’m happy to say that this vampire flick doesn’t suck in a bad way! It had strong visuals, a great cast, graphic bloodshed, fast paced, action laced and vampires that are actually scary and menacing and that are not fuc!king dreamy! It has been quite a while since I’ve seen a vampire flick that actually delivered and wasn’t so stylish and teen oriented, excluding 30 Days Of Night of course which was great as well, this film brings this kind of genre back to life and it’s about time! I thought the ending was pretty weak especially what came before it but I does open a door for a sequel and I for one really hope they go through with it because this story is definitely not complete. The acting was pretty good for a vampire movie but kind of underplayed but good none the less, no one really stands out, well maybe Willem Dafoe if any one. Overall I recommend this if you are sick of people talking and gushing over Twilight, forget that film and go see a real vampire film that actually has some teeth and meat to it. GO SEE DAYBREAKERS!

This film moves along fine…until it reaches the final moments. It features good effects and a good cast; Hawke and Dafoe are brilliant.

Although, the deal with the blood harvest isn’t something that hasn’t been touched upon before. We’ve seen this kind of pity for humans in Blade: Trinity. In fact, Daybreakers almost feels like an add on to that film, going more in depth.

As far as action, it was fairly minimal. Car chases seemed to fill up a good deal of these scenes. There are so many times where the right person saves the day at just the right moment, its almost painful to watch. But the film somewhat redeems itself in the end, despite the biggest deux ex machina I’ve seen to date.

Well, I just saw this the other day. I almost fell asleep,I am an avid movie fan. I like every genre and every type of movie. I went into this with high expectations and nearly drooled on the person sitting next to me. My all time favorite vampire movies are From Dusk till Dawn and (I know you hate me) 30 Days of Night… I guess I’ve been spoiled, but, this new idea for the 2010 vampire fiasco has got to stop… Ethan Hawke is stale and seemingly unpersonable as usual and Willem Dafoe is pretty much used for one liners. Sam Neill is good in his “Event Horizon” type villain thing, but it’s not enough to save the slow script and irritatingly slow developing characters. I hadn’t read too much on the movie before seeing it; I knew that humans were being harvested for blood and were basically cattle. I saw the poster and the vampire looked really cool… they’re not. They’re half retarded blood starved sub-dwellers. They reminded me of “C.h.u.d.” If you’re into the whole twilight and hip-trendy vampire thing this movie could be for you. If you’re a horror movie buff, or a movie buff in general. Stay away.

Perhaps this movie should’ve been out a lot earlier before the year 2010. I only say this because during the year that everyone had the idea that ‘remakes were the new trend that should be followed and while we’re at it we’ll make it a 3D movie’, it would’ve been nice to have had some kind of originality within the year. But being the first movie to come out in 2010 I was fucking pumped. I followed this movie way out of the way all throughout last year. Everything about this movie was awesome, original story, good sequences of gore (although very noticable CGI but I could see why it was worth it in the film), and a bad ass all american played by William DeFoe! I honestly wasn’t expecting him in the film until I heard his voice. So we got good everything. I loved how they showed normal vampire life and the pandemic of the plot, which led me to have provoking thoughts of Bioshock (which was still awesome), it was intense, it was jumpy and it even had the soundtrack down. I was very impressed with this film and I hope to see a lot more original films throughout this year. We are on the right track so far.

Entertaining action flick. Not much more. Had a interesting premise with vampires ruling and there being a cure. A car chase scene, a couple of shootouts, tons of blood, and then the movie is over. No character is too memorable. Probably the most interesting of the characters is the main character’s brother. The “Subsiders” I thought were underutilized. They could of made for a good action scene but were less in the movie than I expected.

Daybreakers depicts a dystopian future in which vampires, resulting from some epidemic, with their mythical lore a reality, rule the world. Really, if vampires were so infectious and powerful, this world would be the logical outcome of their existence, where humans are an endangered species who are factory farmed for blood. In this world the blood supply is running out, and starving vampires are morphing into ravenous bat-like creatures who stalk vampires and humans alike. There are varying feelings among the vampires, with some sympathizing with humans and loathing their present form, including the main character, Edward Dalton (played by Ethan Hawke, who is great to see in mainstream films again). However, most love being immortal bloodsuckers. Edward is a hematologist working on a blood synthetic who is approached by human rebels who need his help to develop a vampirism cure. I won’t give away the twist here, as it is worth seeing how the plot develops along these lines.

The cinematography is wonderful in this film, and perhaps masks that this is in fact a fairly low-budget film. Some of the make-up and CGI effects are terrific, while some others look rather awkward, and this mixed bag can effect the enjoyment of the scenes at times. Nevertheless, the film boasts a good cast (Sam Neill is great as the vampire boss), an intriguing script, unflinching gore, and a twist that will keep you watching how it will play out until the end. Most of all, this is a fun, refreshing take on the vampire mythos (and a welcome change of pace from Twilight tween madness).

    B-

Very slow moving, oddly paced movie. Had a lot of potential which was not realized. The movie is not bad, but not great either, just average. I expected to see the humans haunted as food, trying to survive, while the Ethan Hawke character tried to find a substitute. Insted we get a silly “cure”, undeveloped sub- siders and very little action. The movie had a great movie hidden inside just trying to get out, sadly it never does.

This film had some very interesting ideas and a sometimes way too blatant parallel of the current oil crisis. I really enjoyed everything up until the ending, which felt a bit tacked on and predictable. If you’re a fan of gore there’s plenty here, if you want to be scared there are a few scenes that might keep you on the edge of your seat, and if you want a movie with great acting there’s plenty here.

Honestly, I think the casting was a bit wonky when they hired Willem Dafoe. Don’t get me wrong, I like him as an actor but he just wasn’t the best choice for the character he played. Ethan Hawke on the other hand did a fantastic job, and even though I wasn’t sure about Sam Neill, he proved to be an excellent corrupt business executive.

Overall, this is a great horror film that manages to cash in on the current popularity of the Vampire genre while throwing its two cents into the political debate. This is definitely a must see.

The movie is full of visual style and some amazing setpieces. My only problem is it was way too short and could have used some more plot/character development. Maybe we’ll get a director’s cut???

Daybreakers was actually a real awesome movie. Vampire’s dont get more badass than this. The storyline was fresh and original. The acting was great and the action was amazing. The gore effects were really good. The CG in the beginning was very iffy. but as the movie progressed, it got so much better. The slow-mo part at the end was shot so incredivbly well. The Spierig brothers hasn’t broken any new grounds, but I think we can all agree that this vampire movie is WAY better than Twilght and New Moon. All in All, Daybreakers was a great vampire movie. Despite the innovative storyline the writing itself was bland and boring. the dialogue between characters had a tendency to be stale with the only redemption being the quality acting by all performers. The pace of the movie is hindered by what seems to be a haphazard editing style that is incapable of creating a sense of urgency which is integral to the story line. Entertaining? Yes. Slow? yes. Great? no.

This is quite a good movie and the fact that it puts a new fresh spin on the Vampire story makes it stand out from the pack. It seemed like a combination of Blade 2 meets The Matrix meets True Blood. One thing that really pops in this movie is the production design. It’s a futuristic setting that’s also cold but I love seeing these kinds of worlds brought to life. The colour scheme, all blue, purple and black give it an edge. The cast do a fine job but that’s to be expected as there is fantastic talent in this. I still can’t believe that Hawke, Neil and Dafoe would star in something like this and they really elevate the whole thing to another level. The vamps look great with their beady orange eyes and when they turn into the dreaded Subsiders they are ugly and dangerous. Just how Vampires should be. I also like that this movie isn’t a wall to wall bloodbath and that the violence and gore is delayed until the majority of the story is dealt with. Overall, this is a decent movie, nothing completely groundbreaking but in an age when Vampires are being portrayed as sparkly vegetarian Mormons this is a breath of fresh air. Recommended.

I haven’t watched a Vampire movie in a while and I enjoyed this one. It is as original as A vampire movie can get in this age, sicne everything has been done with the genre. I though the whole vampire with morals thing has been done to death but besides that and some pacing issues, if you like vampires, then see this film

I really liked this movie. I thought it had some really good ideas (the cure, vampires becoming rabid creatures) and they were all pretty well executed. The acting was good with a very solid cast as well as the action which I was a little worried about because the movie started kind of slow but it picks up rather quickly. I honestly have no real complaints except they never really explained how everyone became a vampire just that this disease happend and either yopu were to join or stay human and probably be used for blood. But I highly recommend this movie.

Very creative movie. However, I wish there was an Unrated/Extended edition since the film is rather short.

Hate the ending. The film abruptly cuts off right before they’re about to do something about the problem. So if there isn’t a part 2, I’m gonna be pissed. I’m worried cuz it’s been a while and they haven’t announced one yet. *fingers crossed*

Overall, a B-. Really good movie. A must-see for horror and vampire fans.

I loved seeing a movie where the vampires were not off an episode of a soap opera. The vampires were just as they should be, violent and deadly. I really enjoyed this movie and nice to see real vampires again, the movie wasn’t perfect but I could easily look past that

entertaining film with some money behind it. but the charcters were cut outs and the script was rehash the vampires were very weak and the whole vamp virus is crap. Vampires are undead and cursed. There is no cure other than salvation.

Just finished watching this movie and i thought it was great. such a departure from vampire movies that are out today (twilight). i loved how the vampires were back to thier blood sucking, body ripping selfs that they should be. plus i was pleasently surprised with Ethan Hawkes performace in this movie. he usually plays in romance movies and i thought he pulled this off pretty well and we all know that sam neil can play in horror (event horizan, in the mouth of madness). Oh and the climatic ending with
    (spoiler warning)
the body parts flying and blood gushing is the way vampire movies should be. the storyline was good. all and all i really like this movie and how it got back to the roots of being a vampire. blood and guts.

I didn’t want to see it, so i just rented it to kill some time because it was the only thing interesting in stock. most of the bloody scenes were unexpected on my part so it caught me off guard……they were awsome. i’m going to buy this on blu ray in a few minutes.

A very clever twist on the vampire genre delivered with all the glory of a Hollywood budget. Unfortunately the fantastic cast (Hawke, Karvan, Neill and Dafoe) seem to get lost in what is a poorly executed script which simply fails to deliver. One can imagine a near-perfect film had the likes of Guillermo del Toro written and directed it. Close but no cigar!

The film Daybreakers is not yor average horror film in fact it is not much a horroe film more than an drams the film centers arounds some key things that are happening in the vamprie world and what is happening in our world today one of those problems would in fact be food shortage but the case in this movie is fairly different than what i am referring to.

The film starts off we see a girl she is sitting in her room coloring a picture and the sun is rising and we see her kill herself as she is being torched to death by the sun. Then the movies opening credtis happen the year is 2019 and hermatolgist Edward Dalton well thats funny i like how they use Edwards name in this movie its like come on really out of all the names in this movie they use Edward for the lead character. Anwyay he works for a company that farmes Humans and they pump out every single drop of that human. Well a major crisis is happening There is no more blood the search for finding Humans is becoming harder and harder as the days go on.

But when this once in a lifetime chance comes to Edward Dalton’s attention that there is a cure to all this that he must go to expensive measures to find out what it is thats when we meet William DeFoe a guy who used to be a vampire but now is a Regular Human Being. and Edward Dalton is gonna find out what that thing is.

This Film was obvious at some points like when you knew somthing was gonna pop out at you. and then there was one time when you dident know something was gonna pop out at you. But the only reason i am even reccomednding this film and giving it the grade i am giving is because the acting performances By Ethan Hawke and William Defoe there acting in this film was the only good thing about this movie. So that if any reason why you should see this movie.

    Rent It!

Thank the gods of fickle Hollywood trends. If vampires hadn’t risen from their cinematic graves to suck wallets dry, capitalizing on the flaccid fanged success of Twilight we may have never seen Daybreakers. This exhilarating genre cocktail floated in limbo while Lionsgate decided what to do with it. I can’t understand their hesitation. In fact, their seeming lack of faith in the film only made genre fans anticipate a dud. Thankfully Daybreakers is anything but. Visually lush, believably acted, the film’s greatest strength is its ability to create a fully realised world and make commentary on our own. I’ve read unjust quibbles regarding the unoriginality of the story, however, the Brothers Spierig have taken ideas only gleaned in other films (the first Blade and I Am Legend come to mind) using them as a starting point for an expansive and allegorical horror / sci-fi tale. That’s not to say they’ve scrimped on the scares and gore. Some of the film’s best scenes are the most grotesque. Let me just say, thirsty subsider in the kitchen, you’ll see what I mean. There are scenes too that are truly distressing, these being the most allegorical. The way we, in the real world, deal with diminishing resources and the treatment of the underprivileged. In Daybreakers the poor and starving literally turn into feral monsters who the rich have no sympathy for and want destroyed. Daybreakers has the sensibility (and gore) of Romero’s best zombies opuses by way of Blade Runner inspired style. It sounds like high praise but it’s well deserved, as horror fare this classy and intelligent is few and far between.

Why watch ‘Twilight’ when you can have gems like this one instead?
“Daybreakers” is one of the few great vampire-movies of the last years (among others like “Let The Right One In”). Incredibly intelligent and creative but also extremely entertaining with an excellent cast (Sam Neill, Ethan Hawke…), a super story, a brilliantly-paced script and great atmosphere. It’s action-packed and never gets boring, it has loads of bad-ass vampires and gallons of fabulous gore. Pity that many of the CGI effects look quite poor. Apart from that it’s one hell of a fun flick.

Alright, before I go hating i would like to say that this was a very good date movie that my boyfriend ended up sleeping through.

I was really excited, and in the begining it had ALOT of promise, but once it ended I was kinda like “That’s it?” They had so much they could have done with the plot, so much they could have done but didn’t. I was surprised to find out that they never encountered the crazy vampire things again in an actual “fight.” I just think this movie had a lot of potential that it just didn’t use, thus making it rather boring and sucktacular. (no pun intended.) I would have also liked to have learned more about how the vampire epidemic got started, and pretty much just wished they’d gone into more detail with everything.

I could not stop laughing for the entire movie. I loved it, one of the best riffing movies I’ve seen this year and it’s not even bad it’s just broken.

I liked the humans more or less playing the role of the vampire in this.

The super vampires look bad ass.

Willem Dafoe was just ok, I wanted alot more when I heard he was in a vampire movie I thought it would be awesome, it was ok.

But I did have one major problem and that was with the movie’s logic.

    **Spoiler alert**

If a controlled burn is the cure how had no one stumbled upon it yet?

If cured blood is also the cure and Vampirekind has all gone into berserker blood feast mode wont that end with like 2-3 cured people left on earth years later?

How is it that a super vampire is strong enough to destroy an apartment and rip a ceiling down but a ton of them chained together cant stop one car from dragging them into the street?

I feel like the movie didnt want to be taken seriously and regardless it was really entertaining. I wouldnt buy it but watching it with a few friends and just having the goal of enjoy it for what it is, was a damn good night.

It’s hard to find a horror film in recent years, let alone a vampire horror film, that is both unique and well made at the same time. I’m glad to say Daybreakers is for the most part a breath of fresh air. There are a few elements that hold it back from being great, but as it stands its a solid film. Lots of gore and vampire action. But the best part is the fantastic cinematography and style. It’s really what makes the film well made. Daybreakers is one horror film that stands out from the rest. It never feels main stream which is a very good thing. It might not be great but it’s pretty sweet, stylistic vampire film that’s definetly worth a watch.

I watched the movie Undead a number of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it and when I learnt the Spierig Brothers were doing another movie, but this time about vampires, I wanted to see it. I know I’m a bit behind but hey, better late than never.

It is the year 2019 and a plague had spread almost a decade before turning most people into vampires. Thing is, now these guys are the dominant race and humans are an endangered species there is a low blood supply. One vampire researcher (Ethan Hawke), teams up with some humans (Willem Dafoe and Claudia Karvan) to try and find a way to save the human race.

One of the major things I liked about this movie is the take that vampires had become the dominant race and it wasn’t a focus on horror. We got to see what it might be like if vampires became the common thing (not lurking in the shadows) and trying to have a civil life. Working in jobs, driving cars all that sort of thing. This movie brought little things I enjoyed seeing. Coffee was served with different percentages of blood. Cars had a âeoeday modeâe which meant all windows would be covered by shutters and they could only see outside because of a camera. Children smoking and hanging in groups in the middle of the night, coz lets face it, a world of vampires means night isn’t dangerous anymore.

The main actors were Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan, Sam Neill and Ethan Hawke. The four of them were all good to see on the screen. Seeing Sam Neill as a vampire was pretty cool. As talented as they all are I reckon Dafoe gave the best performance and Sam Neill definitely had being sinister down pat. I say that Dafoe was the best actor on screen but the talents of Ethan Hawke gave him a run for his money. And being a movie written and directed by Australians, there were some Aussie actors: Claudia Karvan, Isabel Lucas and Vince Colossimo to name a few. That was kinda cool to see (me being Australian).

Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (The Spierig Brothers) were the writers and directors behind this movie. Their take on the vampire genre was pretty cool as I was expressing earlier on. The movie also includes a pretty awesome twist that involves the sun and a pretty gory conclusion. The dialogue however at times came across as being a bit dry.

There are other touches to this movie that the Spierig Brothers thought about. When you can see a reflection of a vampire in a rearview mirror of a car or reflection from glass, you can only see the clothes.

I reckon this is a movie that is under appreciated and deserves a lot more credit then it is given. It has an amazing cast that all act really well. It is a different take for a vampire movie and small details like vampire society is just great. Any fan of vampires need to see this film if they haven’t already.

Was good but not great. One of the better vampire flicks Ive sat through in a long time. Sam Neill is the shit, again. Felt a bit beat over the head by the oil comparisons, but the whole POV on what would become of the world if vampires took over…. not bad. More to like here than not. Which is saying a lot since I virtually hated the Spierig Bros for Undead – one of the worst zombie flicks I have EVER seen.

I think it may be my favorite vampire movie of all time. Its great. Good actors, great story, and I loved seeing all the well done practical FX’s. And if there is one thing this film isn’t lacking its blood. This is one wonderfully gory vampire flick! It’s also refreshingly original. GREAT MOVIE DONT MISS IT!
