After all of the horrible reviews I had read for this movie, I had almost lost my interest in seeing it. However, I really like the 70′s version of the Body Snatchers and am a sucker for seeing “re-vamped” versions. So I ended up picking it up anyways. And I must say, it was not half as bad as everyone made it out to be. Sure, it wasn’t as good as the Donald Sutherland version, but it was not a terrible, gouge your own eyes out film either.

The way the people become the podless pod people is by a virus that is literally vomitted on them by infected people. When they fall asleep, their DNA is altered and they are turned. My only real complaint about the movie is that the ending was positive, and though most people prefer the happy endings, myself included, it wasn’t the way it has ended previously in the telling of the story. I almost liked at the end of the other that we still lost.

Do not let the negative reviews stop you from seeing this. It, in my opinion, is way better than some of the other remakes hitting the theaters these days.

Not a good movie but not complete crap. Watch if you don’t mind watered down horror movies or if your a teen but not for anyone else.

Great remake to the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Very tense and distubing. LOved it.

If you want to watch a better version of this movie travel back a few decades ago and watch the one with donald sutherlund & jeff goldblum, that one was more scarier, and believable of the 3 total “invasion” films that have been made.

decent for a pg13 movie but just the 3rd act gets a lil lazy

This movie was not that great. It started out strong with an interesting premise and some decently building tension but after about the first forty minutes it just lost its suspense and became rather bland and generic. The infected people were really creepy though.

A thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I films like this because you know it’s something that could potentially happen but it’s just a matter of time before it does. I’d say that this film could pass as being called The Happening because in the film something is happening. The little twists along the way keep you entertained without getting bored by the simple storyline. It’s a big budget film that flopped all over the world. Great films these days tend to either not retain their budget, or just retain it with a small profit. It takes a while to actually get into the story which i hate because then people will get bored with it.
The storyline is original and because it’s such a simple plot i’m glad they added the little twists into the film so the viewers wouldn’t walking out. While sitting in the cinema watching, i had a woman behind me keep grunting as if she knew what was going to happen. She was right. Just before something “big” will happen you think in your head the possibilities and sure enough one of them happens. The film isn’t one that you would go and brag about but it’s a thriller that is worth watching.
Nicole Kidman is excellent at portraying her role. The many expressions and excessive body language you need for the role was so well acted and if this was a hit and Nicole was unknown this role would take her places. The rest of the cast was assembled well with the odd bad acted scene.
Overall The Invasion starts off a little boring then gets better and better. My rating is 3/5

Intriguing, downright threatening and well acted remake having a remarkable Nicole Kidman in the lead role, but with an unfortunate “closure” that appears noticeable rushed and sloppy written. However, given the genre, The Invasion is a pretty much isolated case not suffering from the infamous PG-13 epidemic.

`The Invasion’ is the fourth film adaptation of the 1955 novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney which follows in to a Re-Remake or Reboot (How ever you want to call it) of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 first Remake) & Body Snatchers (1993/1994). The Film has brilliant theme, style & element, while the genre Sci-Fi & Thriller is really ace towards the movie & makes it a more scary & tense of finding out.
Nicole Kidman as Carol Bennell & Daniel Craig as Ben Driscoll were amazing in this movie, while soo are the rest of the cast really well acted in the movie too and made it more worthwhile to watch (that what I think for me), the Movie has some great visual special effects & a terrific storyline/plot, with the fact of the space infection of human kind (while even know it stared out fast simple it was still good) and that the movie dose show fanatics Psychological thrills, but does have its flaws & lacks in all planed in the elements, the movie has some really good chills, pretty horrifying stuff & shocking and the end was really pointless because it wouldn’t really be like that if it really happen & would it be better living as un-emotion alien life form or to still be are self’s in this world (will we find out?, also a good blend of political allegories in this film).

Mediocre and underwhelming new Body Snatchers interpretation. Pretty tense and action-packed, way more paranoiac than “Body Snatchers” from ’93 with some interesting editing and great camera work. Sadly the ‘new’ plot is pretty crap, Kidman and Craig are totally miscast, it’s filled with countless unnecessary and uninteresting scenes and the ending is just crap.
