From October 19th to November 10th, Mondo will be holding a gallery show featuring numerous posters for the classic Universal Monster movies! A few weeks ago they unveiled their take on Creature From The Black Lagoon by artist Laurent Durieux. Now they’ve unveiled an additional Ken Taylor poster for that film. Uni Still Developing ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ Remake

Dave Kajganich, who wrote the Daniel Craig-Nicole Kidman thriller The Invasion several years ago, has been tapped to pen Universal’s remake of Creature From the Black Lagoon, reports THR. Michael Rooker Scores Leading Role in Dark Sky’s ‘Hypothermia’!

Bloody Disgusting was tipped off that the great Michael Rooker (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, SLiTHER) will be toplining James Felix McKenney’s Hypothermia for Glass Eye Pix, MPI Media and Dark Sky Films. Imagine Jaws under the ice, imagine terror at 20 degrees below freezing… In a remote winter hideaway devoid of any sign of life, two unsuspecting families on an ice-fishing vacation discover something sinister lurking in the frozen lake. One thing is for certain – the creature is hungry and the only prey left is human. Hypothermia is a classic monster movie in the tradition of The Creature from the Black Lagoon. She’s Allliivvee! ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ Resurrected

Taking no time in upping the ante, back in 1935 Universal Pictures brought to the world The Bride of Frankenstein, a sequel to the 1931 classic monster movie that follows a chastened Henry Frankenstein who abandons his plans to create life, only to be tempted and finally coerced by the Monster, encouraged by Henry’s old mentor Dr Pretorius, into constructing a mate for him. The Bride rejects the Monster however, resulting in her death, that of Pretorius, and apparently the Monster’s own death, when he destroys Henry’s laboratory. While Universal Pictures is prepping the release of their Wolfman remake and still developing a new Creature from the Black Lagoon, the studio is still keen on bringing this luscious bride back to the big screen (and in color!). UPDATE: Eisner is in fact still attached to direct, according to AICN: A remake that has been lingering for what seems like ages over at Universal Pictures is The Creature from the Black Lagoon, which until now had director Breck Eisner locked down to direct. Today a new interview with Producer/Screenwriter Gary Ross appeared online to talk a bit about the remake, all of which can be found beyond the break. UPDATE: Rob Cohen Talks ‘Monster Squad’ Remake?!

Update: Rob Cohen quotes inside. This afternoon SpookyDan conducted an exclusive one-on-one interview with Rob Cohen, director of Universal’s upcoming The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, who revealed some interesting news about Fred Dekker’s classic ’87 movie. Cohen tells Bloodyy-Disgusting that Paramount Pictures has acquired the remake rights to Monster Squad, which followed a group of kids hunting down Dracula and his minions who are attempting to take over the world. TV: Behind-the-Scenes of NBC’s ‘Fear Itself’

Today a new behind-the-scenes featurette was posted for the Fear Itself episode “The Sacrifice”, which was directed by Breck Eisner. Check it out inside or click here for our exclusive clip. Premiering June 5 on NBC, “The Sacrifice” has a screenplay written by Mick Garris (“Riding the Bullet,” “Amazing Stories”), from a story by Del Howison (“Dark Delicacies”). Breck Eisner (“Creature from the Black Lagoon”) will direct. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly secrets.
