Based on the trailer below, the send-up to 1950s creature features looks like Galaxy Quest meets “Doctor Who” by way of Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Blending a nostalgic B-movie aesthetic with a modern sense of humor, the story follows a ragtag group of misfits who must team up with their childhood hero to thwart a massive alien infestation threatening the planet.
The Canadian indie film is written and directed by Anthony D.P. Mann, who also stars.
Sylvester McCoy (“Doctor Who”) and Brian Blessed (Flash Gordon) make vocal cameos, with a special guest appearance by Mitch Markowitz (“The Hilarious House of Frightenstein”).
