Just came back from seeing this and I absolutely loved it. I went in seeing this with HIGH expectations and I wasn’t let down. The film carries all kind of different elements rolled up into one satisfying film. It can be humorous, serious, bloody and sexy all at once, and it works great together here. Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox have great chemistry together on screen. Both play their parts beautifully, especially Seyfried. Fox does what she does best, look amazing and sexy while having her way with “the boys”. While Fox is here to draw attention from the viewer for obvious reasons, it should be mentioned that she is more than eye candy and can really handle being a leading role in a film. While she may not have had much to actually do in this film, besides wreak havoc on people, you can see she is getting there as an actress. Johnny Simmons, who plays Chip and Adam Brody as the lead singer of Low Shoulder both deliver good performances as well. Something else that really caught my attention was the look of the film. It is really well shot and looks beautiful. Bright and loud colors are in the forefront of the day scenes while dingy and dirty darks take care of the evening shots. Kudos to the DP and lighting crew. My only complaint with the film is that I wish Jen’s Body had a slightly higher body count, like I said, only a minor complaint because I realize the filmakers weren’t going for a “massacre everything that moves” type movie. Which brings me to Karyn Kusama and Diablo Cody. We should thank them for meshing together their talents and creating a film that really delivers on so many different levels of our genre. I look forward to many more viewings of Jennifer’s Body.

Just got back from seeing Jennifers Body and all i have to say is…WOW. I absolutely loved this movie! I went to the movies thinking “wow this is going to be cool”, but this was amazing! Not only was this pretty damn freaky but it was hilarious, and Megan Fox is once again amazing in this film. All of the characters are well-acted in this film, and the whole plot for this movie is so suspensful and amazing its hard to even explain. I would (and probably will) go to the movies and pay to see this movie again. Diablo Cody and Karyn Kusama did an amazing job on this movie and they deliver to us a movie that ALL horror fans will enjoy, and I cannot wait to see this movie again! Enjoy the movie guys!

Fun movie. There was some cool/creepy images of Megan Fox. The look of the movie was good. It wasn’t that scary, but there were some moments that were somewhat scary. It was funnier than it was scary though. Diablo Cody did a good job as well as Karyn Kusama, but I think the director should have stuck to the script and made the movie more gory. The kills are usually done in a way that doesn’t show much. Sometimes less is more, but I think in this case more gore was needed. Overall though, entertaining film.

this was such a classic 80′s to 90′s teen flick even the teen flicks of the early 2000′s… it had a lot of horror throw backs too. to the evil dead, to scream. and many more… even the factually if you must with the pool. The acting was and wording was weird but its from the chick of juno so you gotta no thats coming. but it work so perfectly. Fox was a complete bitch. Loved it. The music fuckin owned ass…. AMAZING SOUND TRACK.. expect for a few songs sucking COUGH COUGH fall out queer I mean boy. sorry. Ummm but other then that it was funny, scary, pretty bloody at times. Over all fun time after a disapointing time before COUGH COUGH the straight to DVD movie whiteout… fucking awful movie.

man I can’t wait to buy the unrated…

and that kiss was pretty whoaaaaaa too.

could a horror movie win and oscar. We’ll see.

Loved Megan Fox in this movie but I have to admit, as a horror movie, it’s extremely weak. The few deaths happen mostly off-screen. It’s not scary at all. There’s not much in the way of effects. The dialogue is somewhat humorous but seems to be overloaded with the trendy modern slang every other word almost like the writer was trying too hard.

Pretty good. Fun, entertaining, cheesy horror flick. Some really funny scenes, some really awesome shots. Megan Fox eating dudes. If you can get past her annoying ass personality the movie is enjoyable. Amanda Seyfried is gorgeous!!!

not too bad, it was pretty entertaining. some of the dialogue was annoying as shit, but i got over it. the main reason the movie wasn’t as good as i had hoped it was, was the lack of gore! i mean damn this flick was pretty dry. it really would’ve benifited from much more splatter, and some cooler demon transformations. other that that, it’s worth seeing i guess.

Im really not much of a megan fox fan and didnt have much hope for this. This is a movie for an MTV crowd. There were a few good bloody parts, but the second half just sucked.

This was a really entertaining movie…and I absolutely was drawn to the screen by Megan Fox. That being said I just felt the movie was lacking something…The first half was equal parts funny, gruesome, and tense. The scene where Jennifer shows up at Needy’s was so creepy, especially her growl.. HOWEVER I think the film should have built up to a more violent over the top bloody climax ala Carrie. You know..at the prom. Everything just seemed so anticlimactic. Some good gore though and beautifully shot. Ginger Snaps did this better.

This movie was okay if you don’t expect to much going in. its not amazing its not gonna win any awards, its just a time killer with a hot chick in it. however the only problem with that was seeing Megan Fox covered in blood, throwing up black shit, yeah that wasn’t hot lol.

I was not sure what to expect going in to this movie. I was never a HUGE Megan Fox fan, but the one thing that initially intrigued me about this film was the role that she played. It is refreshing to see that a hollywood vixen such as Megan Fox is not afraid to get her hands dirty. I was especially surprised with the scene where Jennifer returns to Needy’s home after the “ritual” has taken place. The film as a whole was entertaining, although the lingo took some getting used to(and I could have gone without seeing the girl on girl scene, but I’m sure all you men found that to be one of the better scenes). I would gladly recommmend this film to those who are in the mood for a quirky, twisted film with just a touch of bloody goodness.

I was very underwhelmed. Hardly any blood and guts for a horror film, not enough kills, and no nudity- WTF?? Ya there were some damn funny lines and I like funny horror, but I needed more horror! I got bored at one point and I was with a huge bunch of people on opening night. I liked Sorority Row much better- “What is this, the dry humpping olympics??”

I loved it. It is a different type of funny/scary combination besides Sam Raimi. Megan Fox was, as usual, Hot but did some good acting. Amanda Seyfried was good too. It had good 1 liners though, “My tit!”

if you were entertained with the dialog in Juno and the entire plot of Ginger Snaps, you’ll enjoy this movie. i thought it was fun. i’m not offended by (and even got some good laughs at) the Juno-esque dialog. some of it is believable, while some of it feels really forced and stupid. but overall, it was fine. the music in this film got on my nerves.

your heartbeat will not alter from it’s normal rate at any point during this movie (unless you’re one of those people sexually obsessed with the lead actress). this movie is not scary at all. and the carnage was mild at best. nothing creative, super gory, or even interesting. the story wasn’t ground breaking. the acting was all fine for what it was. it was just … average. don’t expect much beyond a fluffy teen horror-themed flick with some funny dialog – and you’ll be fine.

Great horror-comedy, killer soundtrack, and extremely quotable.
Like “Drag Me To Hell” before it, it’s a welcome departure from the extremely gratuitous “serious” horror films of the last decade.
We’re moving into the eighties again, folks, and you can once again take your date to the theater without feeling like some kind of pervert-sadist.

Favorite part: when discussing the significance of an indie-band cashing in on school tragedy, one girl declares “we need them now more than ever!”

This movie actually surpassed my expectations. Some of the dialogue was a little…unrealistic, but it was consistently amusing. I especially enjoyed the line about Jennifer’s condition being “some total X-Men shit.”

The movie wasn’t especially *scary*, but I will say that Megan Fox’s bloody smiles were surprisingly unnerving. Fox’s performance was unexpectedly solid–I think she’s found her calling. Amanda Seyfried’s performance was excellent. The chemistry between the two lead females was good, though the girl-girl bit could have used a little more justification than a brief hand-holding scene. The men I could take or leave, though they were mostly cannon fodder anyway.

All in all, Jennifer’s Body was consistently amusing and so tongue-in-cheek it was coming out of its ear. This is a movie that knows how ridiculous it is and rolls with it. Definitely worth seeing.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from this movie and I really didn’t get much. I can’t give this movie and more respect than another just because of Megan Fox playing one of the leading roles. I was not very impressed with this and the story line wasn’t too great. Some parts towards the end made me laugh a bit and the ending wasn’t very entertaining. Overall, I think this can get a 5/10.

To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed this little concoction put together by Karyn Kusama. I thought the film delivered some solid laugh-out-loud moments and some cringe-inducing scenes. Others are complaining about overcompensation, but I beg to differ. I thought the director did a great job combining two elements together. While this is no Drag me to hell, another comedy/horror flick that came out recently, it still stands on its own to feet. Jennifer’s Body is unique as opposed as to modern horror films and doesn’t fail to deliver the laughs and the scares. Overall, a fun little treat.

Just saw Jennifer’s Body and I have to say though not perfect it was sure better than all the bad reviews it has been getting. The main flaw it has though is that it tried too hard to be different kinds of movies and it didn’t know what it wanted to be. Other than that it was a pretty good and interesting genre effort that played better as a dark teen thriller/comedy than a pure horror movie. I thought that Megan Fox looked hotter than ever but her acting still needs some working on and I thought that she acted better as a evil demon than a normal person but that’s just me, she’s improving though but you might be disappointed that it doesn’t show her naked in this, not even a butt shot. The star of the show to me was Amanda Seyfried because her performance was more of a standout and I was more interested following her character than Megan’s to be honest. Though not bad this is definitely a step down for Diablo Cody from her memorable and successful indie Juno that is a classic compared to this one. Overall I really wasn’t expecting much from this but I ended up enjoying it for what it is more than I thought I would. Jennifer’s Body might be a tease and is very uneven and flawed but I still think it was decent and a little entertaining. It’s still probably isn’t scary or gory enough with not enough nudity for horror fans and not funny enough for Diablo Cody fans but if you take it for what it is and go in with no expectations you might walk out thinking you could do alot worse than Jennifer’s Body. Recommended if you like movies like Ginger Snaps, Heathers, Mean Girls, Idle Hands, Cursed, ect. I rate it a 3.5 out of 5!

I thought after seeing Drag Me To Hell it couldn’t get any better but this beat them all in my opinion! I couldn’t tell you the last time I had so much fun at the movies! Megan Fox actually showed she can act.No it wasn’t oscar worthy but beyond her beauty she can act! With the Transformer’s you couldn’t really see that. And Amanda Seyfried is AMAZING especially the beginning and end! This movie if you go in knowing what it is will be loved! I didnt expect from from this film. From all the talk around this film I kinda assumed the lead role was Megan Fox, to whom Im not such a fan of. But no the lead is givin to Amanda Seyfried which was surprising to say the least, and very refreshing. The movie had tons of flaws but was pretty entertaining. Unquie, Different, corny, fun. Words that come to mind while I was watching it. Its upsetting it didnt do better at the box office, however if people wouldnt have been under the Absumption that Megan fox was the only real Character, it may have had a bigger fan base. dont get me wrong she is Absoulely beautiful, but she knows is and from what I have seen is extremely ugly inside with huge Arrogants. Anyways I liked this Demon flick. Ok Gore, Pretty Fun concept. And great Character build up. Maybe not Theater worthy, wait for the DVD, Go see Zombieland instead…Hints

Pleasantly surprised by this movie. I went into this movie expecting it to be a complete piece of crap, but I actually enjoyed it. Wasn’t scary at all, but I don’t really think it was supposed to be all that scary. A little disappointed with the effects, especially when she kills that jock in the woods. That was so cheesy, that part made it look more like a straight to DVD horror film. Surprisingly I thought Amanda Seyfried looked a lot better than Megan Fox in this movie. All in all I went into the movie with low standards and now I can say that I actually enjoyed it.

Where’s it at Monistat? If this makes you laugh even a little, or if you really liked juno, you’d most likely find Jennifers Body interesting, sometimes jumpy, and funny. I laughed through this slightly dark film and by the end, I really appreciated Diablo Cody’s ability to lighten a heavy mood and Amanda Seyfried’s acting. Megan Fox is hot but yikes…she has the ability to sorta annoy.

This movie was… good. OMG, wtf did he say? He likes something new??? yes dear friends, I have found a horror moie made in the last two years that I liked. well, besides “Drag me to hell”.

I loved the “clurless” vibe I got from it. very refreshing. The comedy was very mean girls inspired and I have to say Megan Fox didnt fuck this one up. Thank sweet Jeebus she wasn’t the fuckign lead as I first suspected. She’s like Zombie’s wife, pretty to look at, hollow and ugly as fuck on the inside. I still dont see why the Devil’s “whirlpool” was involved as it had no real moment in the story other than jsut a cool location for a “”Satanic”" ritual. another thing The hovering, although kind of dumb in its own riht, played an integeral role in how the protagonist escapes her institution. I also loved the music. Although not a real fan of Emo, I felt myself nodding along to some of the tracks.

all in all, its better than that shitfest Zombie dumped on us without even a hint of lysol spray to cover the stinch.

Jennifer’s Body was a fun movie. reminded me alot of drag me to hell. its just a fun movie with some gore and good laughs thrown in. i dont understand all the megan fox hating because i thought she did a good job here as did most of the cast. there were some ripped up bodies along the way to add some gore to it and the dialogue was pretty funny. i loved the score to the film, as it added a suspenseful element to the movie. i thought the ending was very good and it fit with the rest of the movie and made sense to me. i also thought there were a couple of genuine creepy scenes in the movie also which i wasnt expecting. as long as you dont take this movie too seriously, you should have a good time with it, the score is good, the acting was good, story was good but funny at the same time and the movie was pretty good i thought of balancing the horror/comedy which can be tricky to accomplish. megan fox was hot as usual in this and probably even hotter (if thats even possible) because of her character. definately worth a watch.

Jennifer’s body is a great fun teen horror movie :-) It plays on sex a lot without going over the top. So it is a sexy movie with no nudity at all. Also, the movie is very self aware, making fun of its own cliches.

The plot has many small stories in it, making it interesting and not one-dimensional like many other movies in the genre. It is far from a masterpiece, but it is still a good flick :-) If you like this movie you should also watch Fright Night, Night of the Creeps and Dance of the Dead.

If you’re not expecting a lot, you may receive what you want from Jennifer’s Body, if you’re someone who just needs a night out, you’re going to love the sophomore effort of Diablo Cody. Although this movie isn’t scary, it proves to be a worthy, and hilarious movie. Amanda Seyfried is probably the main reason to see this film, that’s if you’re not already putting out for Megan Fox, who does surprising well in this film. Told you she didn’t get the role for her looks.

This is supposed to be a teen horror/comedy but how can anyone relate to this movie, it’s more a parody of Megan Fox and her career. And the other character is supposed to be an ‘average-looking’ girl, but actually looks like a magazine model or something.

And where’s the horror? No horror, unless you’re afraid of a hot girl with a cgi-morph added to her face.

The dialogue? Horrible.. It is sometimes funny, though (“My tit..”) (“Do you have a tampon?”).

    Pretty lame overall.

The kills were non-existent, there was no tension, there wasn’t anything that really happened in this movie. Ooo! Her eyes changed. Oooo! She floated. Oooo! Her mouth got wide a couple times. I thought the person who said it reminded them of “Drag Me To Hell” was exactly right. A dumb movie with nothing to offer.

I did’nt have high expectations going in to this film, I did’nt see Juno so I had no expectations as far as the script went, I read a few reviews, mostly not that great. I have to say though, I liked this movie, I thought it was funny, It was clearly marketed all wrong, should have been marketed as a dark comedy , not horror, it was’nt scary at all. The characters were all likeable except Jennifer, which is the point, imagine if Jennifer was more sympathetic, that would have made a very different film, certainly a lot more dark, a lot more dramatic, that probably would’nt have worked, but an interesting thought. the script was good, maybe a little heavy on the pop culture references, which made at it a little juvenile at times, but also gave me my favorite moment of the film *** spoiler*- When the band have Jennifer at the waterfall about to sacrifice her to satan, and they break into 867-5309, I laughed my ass off, worth the price of admission. end of spoiler*** overall very enjoyable film, I though Amanda Seyfried was very good as well as Johnny Simmons, they carried the film well and served as it’s emotional core. good funny film, worth a look, or a second look.—this review is based on the unrated cut of the film, never seen the theatrical, i’m not sure of the differences.

This is a fairly good film, if you can get past the cheesy teenage comedy. Fox delivers one liners that are so bad, they’re good. Her acting isn’t exactly Oscar worthy, but she’s got a pretty face. Most of the time.

The story is interesting, with a twist that may actually deliver a shock. It is original and quirky, not to mention amusing. Definitely worth a shot.

Whats up with the never-ending waterfall hole?? (like wtf, why put somethign that cool in a movie if it serves NO purpose at all)

They should have made it so that retarded sacrafice didnt work, but they dumped the body in the waterfall hole and then she comes back demonic.

Having a ritual some guy printed off the internet actually working is fake and lame.

So, imo the story could have been a million times better but I still liekd this movie overall (except for the horrible floating fight sequence at the end, god that was terrible)

This movie was not all that bad, I must admit. It’s not as bad as it looks basically. The dialogue, you either hate it or you love it and imo I loved the dialogue in this movie. It was witty and smart and actually had some good one-liners. Megan Fox is insanely hot which kinda steers you away from her terrible acting. The story was not the greatest either. Could have been alot better. All in All, Jennifer’s Body was a good, fun, flawed movie that I recommend a rental.

The biggest surprise for me was Megan Fox, I didn’t think that she would pull it off, but fortunately I was wrong. Yeah, the dialogue was pretty dumb at times but Megan stole the show. She actually freaked me out a little, especially in the kitchen when she made that bloody smile. Newayz, its worth watching at least once.

Megan Fox can’t do anything besides her sexy face it seems, and although that may reel people in, it didn’t make a satisfying horror movie for me. I admit, it was funny at times. But overall, not a fan.

Nice horror-comedy which could have been much better. The first third is absolutely magnificent and full of brilliant ideas – unfortunately it goes downhill from here, mainly because of the weak script from Oscar-winner Diablo Cody who desperately tried to merge indie comedy and horror movie – but failed.
There’s some superb dialogue, beautiful cinematography and a great cast – but there’s also some boredom and a weak plot full of unanswered questions.

The only reason me and 100 billion other guys were seeing this was one Megan Fox in a chick fight and a make out scene all in one movie Hell Yes!. The films storyline is a little weak and could have used more but it worked for me. Because in the end the story did make sense and you could understand sort i suppose. The plot is also weak and needed some work to it but once again it all worked out MEGAN FOX!.

The film is about Jennifer catch or somthing like that who is best friends with Amanda Seyfried who is sort of a loser of the school and nobody can believe she is best friends with Jennifer. It is like a Girl eat girl world or in this movies case a boy eat boy world. There is something majorly wrong with Jennifer after a local bar in this little town called Devils Kettel. A Band called Low Shoulder takes Jennifer and then she shows up at her best friends house Needy (Seyfried) hours later. Vomitting and looking all grotesgue. But your friend suspects that something is wrong. and she decides to investigate things. And what she finds out is somthing dark and ominous.

This film open up at number 5 its opening weekend which is bad considering this has Megan fox half naked making out with a chick and an all out chick fight. But that would probably be cuz only guys went and saw it. But if you are one of this die hard fans that are seeing this only for Megan Fox you will not be dissapointed and if you are seeing this movie for its horror plot and other stuff than maybe watch this i dont know it was ok in my books.

Jennifer Check invites the school punk rocker to her house for some hanky panky, and upon arrival, he realizes she gave him the address for an abandoned dilapidated house. He of course goes in anyway to find scented candles everywhere and AKONS “I wanna make love right na, na na” blasting. Not exactly subtle. Neither is it subtle when Jennifer, halfway through some sex starting eating his guts out. Welcome to Jennifer’s Body, a very funny but not hysterical comedy with some pretty suspenseful scenes, but no outfight frights. The entire time I was reminded of Wynona Ryder’s character from HEATHERS: “My teen angst just got a body count!” This film is NOT heathers, though it tries to be, and comes pretty close. For that I’ll give it credit, and did really enjoy myself. Here is a pro and con list

    CON
    - Diablo Cody wrote an outright comedy, the director chose to film it like a straight up horror film. So even though most jokes get a laugh, and most scares get a jump there are several instances where something very dramatic is happening and someone cracks a very inappropriate one liner.
    PRO
    - Megan Fox may still not be able to act, but her agent needs an award. She was tailor made for this role. She’s a sex kitten, a mega bitch, or a flesh eating zombie. Her street cred has yet to be determined, but she’s great with what she has to do.
    - Amanda Seyfried is as cute as a button. Also, she’s surprisingly the dom top in the hot lesbian sex scene. Yea, it was really hot, and I’m gay!
    - Atmosphere. After Megan fox’s character eats her first boy in the woods the camera cuts to an areal view of the forest and this huge lake. In super slow motion Jennifer slowly rises up in the middle of the lake swimming naked. She then puts her clothes on and walks through the forest with all the animals gathering around her. The ominous music and slow motion and cinematography all come together to create a really creepy vibe. I enjoy little throwaway details like that. This film is filled to the brim with creepy asides like this. For example, Jennifer needs to eat boys to stay alive, if not she becomes more and more frumpy and homely looking. Acne. Bad hair. Ect. Until she eats another boy, and she’s back to her vivacious self. However it just so works out that she eats one boy a month. So just as most girls get all super bitchy on their period, Megan gets the opposite, although she has to deal with quite a bit more carnage……

So in conclusion, JENNIFERS BODY is really great, but not amazing. It’s got a great premise, and despite some missteps in the translation of the material by the director, it still packs a punch. Kudus’ to the studio for making a high school film that doesn’t have a happy “Hollywood ending” and who’s leads do drugs, get drunk, have lots of sex, and eat people. Once again, this, like MEAN GIRLS, is just trying to be HEATHERS, and missing the mark. That being said, a HEATHERS rip off is still better than nothing

THIS MOVIE IS SOOOO UNDERRATED. Yes, the dialogue is ridiculous: does Diablo Cody really think she needs to invent her own goofy-teenage-girl language in every movie she does?! No one speaks like this!!!!

What saves this movie is the story itself, as well as the characters. Megan Fox is decent, as is Amanda Seyfried, but the BAND really makes this movie what it is. Everything about the band is just hilarious: their tacky emo song that blows up is funny, their quest for becoming rockstars by making a sacrifice is funny…and who doesn’t love hearing a Tommy Tutone song while some stabbing is going on?! Very funny.

I also like the ending. No more playing the victim role…now just going out for some sweet revenge. This movie was creative, and I like that. So enjoy!

many good things about this movie and many bad
    good:
-interesting plot which hasn’t been done yet
-the plot is about teenagers in the last year of high school, something that used to exist in old successful horror films and still works
-the lesbian scene between seyfried and megan fox makes curse the idea of bringing girls to watch that movie together with you
-the song of the band was pretty good
-the murder scenes were nicely developed
    bad:
    -stupid acting
-bad combination of horror and comedy
-the band players were fagots despite the fact that they were rockers and satanists
-the end was predictable and not an outburst of evil and horror as it’s usually in horror films

Where does one start with this steaming pile of shit ? Let’s begin with Diablo Cody, who would have to be one of the most over-hyped screenwriters in Hollywood history. How the Hell did this woman ever win an Oscar? Her dire-louge is worse than Rob Zombies and clearly only exists in her own head. Nobody speaks like the characters in the two scripts she wrote and thank God the lingo doesn’t catch on. Lines like ” I’m having the best day since Jesus invented the calender” leave a WTF impression. Moving on, the only saving grace here is Amanda Seyfried. The girl can clearly act and she does her best to elevate herself above the rest of the rot on display here. The concept is a good one, but Ms Cody, intent on creating hip teen speak couldn’t give a fuck about giving the plot any meat on it’s bones. Yes, Jennifer is possessed, but by what kind of Demon ? The ritual that transforms her is nothing but a straight forward murder, why does the towns waterfall go straight down into a pit. Where is the motivation and backstory behind any of this ? This is a movie that raises questions but never gives any answers. Megan Fox’s performance is typical. She is basically the 00′s version of Denise Richards circa Wild Things. Great to look at and nothing else. The same can’t be said about this movie. If you want a high school/ horror hybrid you’d be better off watching The Loved Ones or any other high school movie back to back with any random scare flick. Avoid this shit at all costs. I rate this a 1 for Seyfried and that’s it.

Sadly, the pump that causes Diablo Cody’s characters spew verbal diarrhea of quirky pop culture references got stuck in the “ON” position and this is our punishment. However, it was nice to see Megan Fox playing herself in this movie…a pair of tits that sucks the souls out of men with absolutely no humanity in her whatsoever. Wait, she was playing a character? When up and coming Indie-Rockers ‘ LOW SHOULDER ‘comes to town , JENNIFER pleads with a reluctant NEEDY until she convinces her to give it a look .Not all is on the up and up with Low Shoulder , the band can’t get onto LETTERMAN , so the only other choice is to make a pact with a demonic sacrifice of a virgin , who they mistake JENNIFER for after NEEDY blows her attempt to get her away .Needless to say , the sacrifice is a short term fix for the band , whom NEEDY begins paying mind to show dates of , ready to exact retribution upon these pricks have turned JENNIFER into a soulless murdering seductress who’s giving the local boys a lesson in animal sex . UNFORTUNATELY , a great deal of viewers are going to miss a truly excellent film with brilliant work from all , because of this absolutely fucking ridiculous aversion to anything from Megan Fox , who apparently still brings out the inner loser in film goers with prejudice !! 9/10

Upon multiple viewings, I have to say that I really still like this one. There is no doubt that Diablo Cody is a great writer, can she make The Evil Dead remake work? I highly doubt it. This is the type of film she was born to write. I don’t understand a lot of the hate on this movie, it was beautifully shot and written. Give this one a chance, it’s worth it.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect with “Jennifer’s Body” I thought it was about a lesbian demon who was trying to have it off with her lesbian friend, but really it was nothing about lesbians (not a bad think). I think it’s the “Black Swan” effect, where the idea of having two attractive actresses having sex with each other gets blown out of proportion and is only really a miniscule aspect of the film. So beware, perverts. If you’re going in wanting lesbians you’re not going to get (and you’re not going to get “Black Swan” either!)

On the whole I thought it was a really entertaining and engaging film that needed to be tightened up on the writing front. Don’t get me wrong, there were some fantastic funny lines and interesting and clever uses of motifs e.g. With the “Through the Trees” song. But, it should’ve been much grander. It does start to get a bit repetitive about half-way through where we just see Jennifer killing all these high-school boys, one after the other. It’s fun the fist couple of kills but then it gets tiresome! But, thankfully the beginning and the ending sections of the film are actually quite engaging. I also can’t help but think that it would’ve been better if their was a massive blood-fest finale at the end, with a much bigger bitch-fight to add to the entertainment value. The story’s ridiculous enough so why not just go all the way?

I also think that “Jennifer’s Body” tended to step more into the ‘chick flick’ territory rather than horror. Horror seemed almost to be the side dish in some parts as a lot of the film was filled up with the high-school cliches that weren’t done in any partiulary clever or interesting ways like “Scream” or “Tormented” for instance. But, luckily (and quite effectively) it did get a slice of horror in towards the end. It just needs to leave the “Juno” roots.

The film was actually very nicely directed, although with splashes of clumsy directing during the cliched parts such as when Amanda Seyfried is walking through her dark and empty house and Jennifer pops up. I also found the editing to be quite effective and it maintained a nice quick pace to prevent it from getting dull. Some clever juxtapositions were made which I think enhanced the overall effect too.

Really, what we have here is a fun and entertaining horrorified chick flick that really doesn’t take itself seriously which is nice to see now and again. It does well to engage its audience, although improvements could’ve been made to really lift itself of the ground. But actually I enjoyed it. Think of “Jennifer’s Body” as a horrified version of “Mean Girls”. It’s fast, funny but a tad too reserved.

This movie wasn’t horribly bad, but it sucked. It was pretty amusing and had the potential to be a good movie.

Its a fun sexy teen horror comedy. BUT it could have been done so much better. They left to many holes in the story. And Megan Fox while unbelievably hot she is not the best actress and Amanda Seyfried acts circles around her. I did love the last 30 min of the film. The final battles where witty, well done, and hella fun to watch. I also found the twisted damaged friendship fascinating. But the film is just missing to much to be a great movie. Overall its a disappointment. If you want to see how this film could have and should have been done watch the fantastic film GINGER SNAPS.
