This was a decent movie.. whats wrong with the story line? You have a rich evil collector who captured ghosts and his brother’s family for the purpose of sacrificing them to gain powers/info of hell itself.. I thought it was very well done.. shrug different strokes for different folks I geuss

I never get tired of this movie. The ghosts are cool looking, the kill scenes are decent, and the story interesting. This is one of my favorites!

Not a great fan of the actors themselves but it’s visually pretty cool. It’s not deep per se, but it’s entertaining.

Dark Castle has had better movies. my fav being house of was my 2nd fav being reaping, 13 ghosts coming in 3rd. i brought this movie for 4 dollars at a used dvd store next 2 my uncles bar in smithfeild. this movie was a decent remake. way better than house on haunted hill remake was. the ghost were freaky and the set was pretty good. i dont like the fact that the house was made out of glass but i’ll live. this movie was good and i enjoy a horror movie with matthew lillard in it. all inall this is one of dark castles good remakes.

Thirteen ghosts was kick ass! The acting was great, really believable except it was sad when my fav character died. The storyline was awesome, nice and original and the little twist at the end was great. The atmosphere and setting was mad, glass house, locks down when triggered and unleashes the ghosts one by one. The special effects and make up designs looked extremely realistic and each of the ghosts had their own unique and awesome look. My favourite ghost was the juggernaut, a massive tall guy who looked completely bad ass. He was also the ghost who killed my favourite character. The ghosts each had their own back story and why the died. The only problem I had was you didn’t get to see enough of some of the ghosts and it only described their back story in the special features. The deaths were awesome, my fav death was when the lawyer guy got the glass door closed through him and he was cut in half. That part had some nice gore effects. Some of the scenes in this movie were pretty creepy and I liked the idea that you have to wear special shades in order to see the ghosts. There is one scene where the guy dosen’t have any and the girl has to tell him when to run and when to duck. That part was pretty tense and suspensful. Overall this was a great ghost movie and delievered great scenes on so many levels, the only con is not seeing enough of some of the ghosts. I give 13 ghosts a 8/10.

A hell of a lot scarier when I saw it as a younger kid… not so much now. Decent, but a definite let-down when I was looking for that wicked scary movie that I once thought it was.

Fantastic. This film from get go is enjoyable. Each ghost has it’s own uniqueness about it, that makes the film more interesting. The stunning sets, and the make-up done to make the ghosts creepy really paid off. It’s the second film released by “Dark Castle Entertainment”, and is just as good. The movie isn’t per-say a slasher, as only a few are killed, but when they are killed, it’s awesome.

The plot, is very very huge in itself, and it lives up to what I presume the main script was screaming. It’s very original, and has a few ghosts that’s backgrounds are explored a little. Great plot, great movie.

The acting was very well done, with the house (although not living) stealing the show. Shannon Elizabeth stars as the daughter, who obviously won’t die. The 13 ghosts are very very well acted, and are pretty freaky when you look at them.

Overall “Thir13en Ghosts” is a great flick, that isn’t scary, but is a great watch, and is just fantastic. My rating is 4.5/5

Briliant movie!! saw it as a kid and even now it doesnt fail to deliver!! the concept is great and one ive never seen in another horror film again. The idea alone of only being able to see them when your wearing the goggles adds loads of tension!! Originally horrors used to be more about what you might see or though you saw and this movie intertwines the aspects of modern horror and gore to that of classic horrors.

Well, it wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s a boring movie. I was bored as hell watching it, it has to be the most boring ghost movie I have ever seen. Secondly, the plot and acting is ridiculous, with stupid scenrious and some serious acting problems. But, aside from that, this movie (at it’s few moments) offers some great, classic scares, and some good CGI work to offer a ok – ish scary movie. Rent this, because nothing here is worth a buy.

Good Points: Some general scares, good CGI
Bad Points: Horrible acting, boring, stupid plot.

    4/10

unlike any other Haunted House movies, this movie seems original

if you look in the DVD edition, or on Wikipedia, the ghosts have back stories like superheroes.

anyway, this film was fun to watch, and to see it again, you have to be a horror movie fan!

This is still one of my favorite movies. It’s gruesome, creepy, and funny. I squirm and jump every time lawyer gets cut in half with the glass door. Definitely worth watching more than once.

`Thirteen Ghosts’ is a 2001/2002 Remake on the original William Castle film (as this remake is known to be spelt like this – Thir13en Ghosts, to make it more appealing). The Film starts out pretty good with the telling of the thirteen ghosts & how the Kriticos family move into a glassed house (known as a big machine house for all the ghost at the end of the film) of their late uncle passing & finding out what he did for a living as they try to escape from the house from the thirteen ghost are trying to kill them, the movie has some ok special effects & visual effects, but they did look mostly crappie for its time and they were going to make this in 3D as the glasses they wear in the film made it look like a good way to make into a 3D movie, but they never did for some reason, but I think it would have been a lot better in 3D with the right move of the 3D & the technology (as it would up may rating for this film if they tried to make in 3D & a better plot).

The Movie has some alright acting from the cast of Tony Shalhoub, Embeth Davidtz, Shannon Elizabeth, F. Murray Abraham, Alec Roberts, Rah Digga & Matthew Lillard (which he did a really freaky but funny performance in the film), while all Thirteen ghosts were good they were very disturbing & too much outrages with the over the top gore & Image reflex shown from when you’re about to see any of the thirteen ghost, the film did have some spooky & jumpy shocks but was nothing to crap your pants about as a laughed at mostly part of the film as it was soo cheesy & not really having as much shocks as it should do (as for the title name of the film, you would think it would be better than what it was), as the storyline/plot was really confusing & quick stupid really for what it showed and that the directions by Steve Beck was pretty average standard of directions of this film standard as it was neither bad or good just in the mild really.

The film is not really much horror, thriller or mystery but does have its elements & some great amount of shocks & death scene (for like only one or two in the film, which is no good for this type of movie), as the film was mind-numbing, non-entering & bullshit to be called a horror movie (even know it had a some amount, but you want more if you love Horror film & their remakes) it was a disaster of a remake and the ending was particular & not shock that the main ones that I thought that would survivor in the film did & was a bit funny when Rah Digga character had a hissy fit.

(I remember that I watched this film at my Grandma & Grandpa (When he was alive) house when I was 11 for the very first time & it didn’t scare me one little bit, as that was the first every Horror film never to scare me because at that time I really didn’t like horror movie at all (but at age 13 I started to love them), but at the age of late 18 it scared only a tiny amount, soo from the age of 11 to 18 that just plain weird.)

This movie screams 2001. Matthew Lillard and Shannon Elizabeth? Who the hell are they? Oh, that’s right, they are people who were popular ten years ago. The idea is gimmicky, but still kind of fun. The hardest concept to grasp is they try to convince you that at one point, Shannon Elizabeth lived in Tony Shalhoub’s balls. More details here:

Why in the name of the gods do I like this movie… I have no idea…

Wait I know, it’s because I saw it when I was 12 and didn’t have to hide under a hoodie with my fingers in my ears to watch it, i.e.: awesome. And I generally let that warm, fuzzy, “horror” movie feeling stay.

I really appreciate that they took the time to give the ghosts back stories, wish more movies to the time to expand beyond the actual screen time.

Apparently a lot of people do not like this movie, however I remember seeing this movie when I was about seven or eight years-old and this movie scared the shit out of me. It still kind of does today.
