In a new article over at Variety, they reveal that “The River” writer Michael Green is at work adapting the Stephen King tome “Under the Dome” in preparation for DreamWorks TV to shop to broadcast and cable buyers in a few months. The book goes a little something like this: “Just down Route 119 in Chester’s Mill, Maine, all hell is about to break loose… On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day, a small town is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field.” READ MORE

Anchor Bay Entertainment announced this morning that they’ll be moving Scott Glosserman’s critically acclaimed horror film, Behind the Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon (review) from it’s February date to March 16, just a week before Universal’s Dead Silence and Fox Atomic’s The Hills Have Eyes II hits theaters — it looks like March is going to be a big month for horror! Anchor Bay’s Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (review) has moved to a February 14, 2007 (Valentines Day) release from it’s original January date. The film is scheduled for a limited platform release and will open in at least 12 major markets! Directed and produced by Scott Glosserman, the film features break-out performances by up & comers Nathan Baesel (Invasion), who plays the lead character, and Angela Goethals (Spanglish, 24), and also stars international cult icon Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 2001 Maniacs), Scott Wilson (Junebug, The Last Samurai) and Zelda Rubinstein (Poltergeist I, II, & III, Sixteen Candles). Arrowinthehead broke the news this morning that the legendary Clive Barker will be the guest of honor at this year’s Screamfest Horror Film Festival, which will take place at the Mann Chinese Theaters, October 13-22 in Hollywood, CA. If you click here you can order tickets to the closing night ceremonies, where Barker will receive a special award from the prestigious festival. Screamfest has been called “The Sundance of Horror,” and I can see why with The Lost, Automaton Transfusion, Hatchet, Behind the Mask, Driftwood, Pumpkinhead and many more films playing. This past week I started working with the Screamfest Horror Film Festival (MySpace) in Hollywood, California and today I’ve learned some fantastic news. I was informed this morning that Screamfest will host the WORLD PREMIERE of David Arquette’s directorial debut, The Tripper, which features Jamie King, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Jason Mewes, Balthazar Getty, Paul Reubens, Courteney Cox and of course David. The film revolves around a group of friends who escape to a modern-day Woodstock concert for a weekend of debauchery, only to be stalked by a fanatical killer determined to finish what he started years earlier. Today the first ever photos from WeinsteinCo.’s prequel to the Silence of the Lambs franchise, Hannibal: Behind the Mask, has hit the web.
