Romero does a great job in this film, I enjoyed it and its a lot of fun, but it is not a zombie film, while it may at times feel like you are watching one. It has a few good scares and a decent score. Ive never looked forward to a remake, but because this movie lacks just a bit of excitement and fast pace, I am curious to see how the remake turns out, I am also glad to see Romero has a writing hand in the remake and that Hollywood is not just taking over the title completely.

A good Enjoyable movie that dosen’t have any boring scenes, its fast paced. The people don’t turn into zombies but crazy people. The people in the movie are on the run from the military and the crazy people. It’s a good movie that should be seen. One of Romeros best films.

I love this movie, its got a lot going on that Night of the Living Dead seems to be a little light on, like Richard “Dr. Logan” Liberty and his on screen daughter. That part and others add a real creepiness to this movie. In my mind, it would have made a fine sequel to Night, but since its zombie-less, i think of it as a sort of spin off. In conclusion, an excellent film Id recomend to any horror fan and a MUST for Romero fans.

Talking, I hope you like talking, because there is a LOT of it. Even for Romero. The editing on this film is terrible, even for the early 70′s. Seems rushed to me for some reason. You can definetly see George’s “Dawn style” start to appear here, but the film is far too un-focused to be effective.

This is a classic! Probably not a fast enough moving movie for new fans.

Damn this is a good one…Romero at one of his best..i honestly think aside from Night and Dawn…it’s one of his best! Excels so far ahead of what 28 days/weeks tried to achieve

Was a descent movie, hope the remake will be tantamount to that of The Fly and The Blob

I’m not sure what to make of this flick. You could almost view it as a bridge between Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, but not quite. You hear characters talking about the infected crazy people and what they’re doing, but you see almost none of it. If they did show it, it might be interesting. As it is, it pretty much made a good template for 28 Days Later.

I love George. A Romero, but this movie was definitely not that good. It barely showes any “Crazy” people and when it did, it wasn’t that epic. All in All, This is Romero at his least and also, The Crazies was extremely dragged on and very boring.

I love Romero and will defend to the death most of his movies against haters, but this one is total crap. Terrible acting, shitty dialogue, and lame death scenes with very little variety. Other than the usual moral soapboxing, I cannot believe this is the same Romero who made so many other classics. Honestly, if Romero’s name wasn’t attached to this film, it would have been long forgotten ages ago. Ripping my eyeballs out to plug my ears with them to avoid experiencing this movie again would be less torturous than another viewing of it.

Official Score: 3 / 5
