I always remember the writer said “writing scream 3 is like writing a episode of scooby doo.”

But i do love the line”nine more and we have a calender”.

three is always look at as the worse one but I loved it! I thought it blew 2 away! It had non-stop action and suspense, with lots of interesting and new character’s especially Parker Posey’s Jennifer who was my favorite character in the trilogy that is still my favorite movies, besides sid, gale, and dewey. It had a bigger budget too with big explosions and more famous faces. The end in the mansion was awesome and so was the night of Jennifer’s home being blown up.Plus Jenny Mccarthy’s scenes as Sarah Darling is still the funniest part in all three films. The girl is a comic genious! and the beginning of it with killing Cotton Wiery attomatically makes the killer seem more vicious this time around with a character we all love and hate dying first with his new girlfriend.I loved it! Yeah it was a stretch being sid’s long lost brother but…. it worked! BRING ON FOUR!!!

Obviously the least good of the three, but it is still a fun movie. Parker Posey steals every scene she is in — too bad she had to die — could have at least gotten a brutal death. That is the only problem with Scream 3. It isn’t bloody at all. It just needed a few creative kills and it could have been much better. And the brother… uh a little too much but I think since I was 10 when it came out, it didn’t bug me then and it still doesn’t bug me now, lol. Gale could have been a bit more bitchy this time out too, but all in all — Good!

    Scream 4 better deliver!

A bis step down from the first 2, due to Kevin Williamsons absence but still a lot of fun. This is the least bloody of the trilogy but some of the set pieces here, espcially the opening and the house explosion make up for it. There is more comedy in this one thanks to Jenny McCarthy and Parker Posie but thats OK especially as those two girls own every scene they are in, especially Posie. The returning cast members Campbell, cox and Arquette phone in their performances but the return of Randy via a video tape definitely puts a smile on the face. The big reveal at the end is a bit of a stretch but it works, just. Not the explosive third installment it could have been considering the first two are strong efforts but still worth repeated viewings. Bring on Scream 4 !

OK, this is better than the second, but again it still lacks the qualitys of the first! The opening is probably the worst of the three but it is still more enjooyable than number 2. YOu won’t guess who the killer is and another twist is added it’s a great fun flick. Funner than the second but not as fun as the first!

This is what killed off the Scream franchise. The first and second were great, but this is a great dissapointment. From the very begining, you know this is going to suck, big time. The acting is even worse than Scream 2, and everything just doesn’t seem right. Scream 3 has some major plot twists, and some major dissapointments. I think that’s what made me give it this rather low score, compared to the others. Yes, I loved the deaths, the gore, the unique iconic Scream mask, and some of the scripted lines, but that isn’t enough to make it a solid movie. The acting is really bad, I’m not just saying that. The terrible one liner jokes, and some of the stupid set pieces, what the hell were they thinking? I’m not going to say much more, but stay away from this if you loved the first 2, because it’s a big bummer.

    5/10

The movie within the movie concept is further explored here. Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro is in production in Hollywood and murders start happening in and around the sets of this production. Who is the killer this time? Although the films story and setting was really interesting, there is just something missing. Could it be Kevin Williamson’s absense? For one thing the gore is toned down, although there is a hugh body count many of the death scenes are not as elaborate as in the first two. There is also more slapstick humor this go around. What was Stab 3 about anyway? After all, this was the first Stab film not to be based actual events. Was it a prequel? On the upside, the big ending revelation ties in the series quite well together and you still feel for these characters to the very end. RIP Scream, at least until Scream 4 hits theaters.

This film is what butchered the Scream Franchise.
The 1st and the 2nd were great films. In my opinon they tried too hard to please the viewers. The wholy movie in a movie concept was weird, and I saw no point in the actors who played the original cast in Stab 3, being killed. It was just confusing and a weird take on things. It wasn’t interesting or even remotely scary. However, I do recommend you see this film. If you’ve seen the first 2, it’s great to compare.

    I rate this 4/10

Scream 3 is a good film….but there are so many flaws in it. I didn’t like Sydney’s character in this one, and she feels like a bit player anyway. The other cast members are just obviously there to be unmemorable knife fodder, apart from Parker Posey, who brings steals every scene she’s in. The whole thing feels a bit rushed, probably because they only had Neve for about 3 weeks worth of filming and the execution of the executions is awful. I wanted to see Jenny McCarthy die, but it was a real let down.

A bit of a let down, but the pre-credit sequence is very well paced and the twist at the end aint as bad as people say. The end fight scene is pretty damn good also, but kinda wished they’d just had the bottle to kill one of the main players off. Still psyched over Scream 4.

    Overall 5/10

Scream 3 isn’t a bad film but the ending really put out its flame. The movie keeps the audiences’ attention threw the duration but at the end it really fucks up. Ehren Kruger didn’t do his part when it mattered most. The whole “I’m your brother that you never new about” was the movies’ downfall.

I know most people hate this sequel, but I actually found this to be miles ahead of Scream 2. I wasn’t a fan of the first sequel and I wasn’t expecting to like this sequel, but color me surprised I had a great time with this film.
Sidney, Gale, and Dewey (Die already) are back and this time in Hollywood as Stab 3 is about to be shot. But along with the old gang, a new copycat killer is on the prowl. Can our trio stop the killer before they are done for?
I relished the new town and I liked how it tried to be different then the first film, while the second one was a rehash. This one tried to be different and I liked it. The laughs were of a different form like Parker Posey (who I am a fan of). She made me laugh big time. Unfortunately the directing was bland as was the soundtrack and the suspense and tension was nil to none. Shame. Even though I didn’t like Scream 2, it had some good suspense at least.
But the ending to this film was great! Way better then the ending to Scream 2. It brought the whole series full circle and I liked the way it capped the trilogy off.
It’s a shame they have to ruin the ending by making a fourth one.

There is something about the third and final installment of a trilogy or even just a third installment; they don’t usually tend to hit the mark like the previous two installments. Something tends to go awry, askew even, be it the novelty factor wearing thin, the script losing its charm or the situations becoming overbearing. Scream 3 seems to have all three of these issues but not on the level that most part threes seem to have them.

The plot once again follows Sydney, who is in hiding after the murders that took place in Woodsboro and at Windsor College. But murders on the set of Stab 3 (the movie within a movie) and pictures of her mother being a clue to these murders force her to come out of the isolation she put herself in and force her to relive her past all over again.

The situations that the “gang” find themselves in are not quite so ironic anymore they seem to feel more clichéd which is a sad thought due to the effective irony the first two utilized and it is a painful experience seeing Wes Craven, I hate to use the word, fail like he does here. As I have said before the reason Scream was so effective was the novel and unique factor it had going for it and this obviously doesn’t have this factor.

Now as just a Comedy-Horror Slasher movie it does work, the comedy is pleasing at times and some of the performances are worth noting especially Parker Posey’s character who is annoying and amusing at the same time, somehow this does actually pay off. Neve Campbell is still fantastic as the tortured Sydney Prescott but the performance and does not falter like some of the other cast members (Gale and Dewy to name but two) which is a relief. One thing worth looking at here are the in-jokes which cannot be faulted, they are fantastic especially one involving Carrie Fisher which I won’t spoil for you but I can tell you it is brilliant.

The whodunit factor is still there and will keep you guessing throughout but the dénouement may upset some people for its outrageous nature, but they can’t say they weren’t warned as Randy (via videotape, he is dead remember) clearly tell the characters that all bets are off in a trilogy. Suffice to say that Scream 3 is definitely above average for a slasher movie but as a movie that succeeds on the many levels the previous two did, it fails to match or even come close.

    6.0/10

This is a prime example of what happens when you push your luck.

Not a bad sequel, the twist sucked. If sidney did have a brother then why wasn’t he mentioned in first? or the second? It was stupid and could’ve had a much better twist, ovrrall not a bad sequel at all, the acting is soild, the suspense was OKAY, didn’t keep me on the egde of my seat liek the first two did, the twist was shit and would have been MUCH MUCH better if it was sidney’s dad, but that’s just me. 57/10.

I thought this film was just absolutly terrible. from the script to the plot and the scares as if there were any at all. and the really crappy twist at the end as other reviewers have said if sidney did have a brother then why wasn’t he mentioned in the first two of course i can answer that question kevin williamson didn’t write the script. to this day i still wonder what wes craven was thinking going with the crappy stoy i mean didint he do this with wes cravens new nightmare don’t get me wrong i really liked that movie but the idea of bringing sidney to LA to find out they were making another movie about her life. and the whole backstory with her mother being this hollywood star and the brother idea was just in my opinion the new writter being lazy about the story. in closeing stay clear of this movie at all cost here’s hopeing the 4th film will be better then this hey kevin williamson wrote it and from the trailer i have seen it looks like it might be good better anyway.

“Scream 3″ is a terrible and completely unnecessary sequel. Hated it back then and I still can’t stand it.
The main reason why it sucks so hard is the horrendous script from Ehren Kruger: hardly any suspense or tension, the plot is lame, it’s packed with ridiculous and/or annoyingly absurd plot points (f.e. the whole rubbish voice imitating stuff), the opening is disappointing, the ending is far-fetched and implausible and I really, really loathe the fact that the whole film largely feels like a stupid light-comedy/soap-opera. Awful.
The cast is partly good (Campbell, Parker Posey, Lance Henriksen), partly poor (Scott Foley, Patrick Dempsey, Arquette (of course!) and a surprisingly underwhelming Cox). The camera work is ok, the soundtrack is so-so, many of the settings look quite unpleasant.
A few things I enjoyed: the hilarious fax machine scene, the Woodsboro studios, the mirror room and a few funny cameos (Carrie Fisher, Jay & Silent Bob).
However, overall I’d say “Scream 3″ is simply a disaster.

Did you see Scream 2? Good, so just pretend that Scream 3 is Scream 2, because it’s basically the same thing. Only this time, set in Hollywood! You question whether or not you are watching an installment in the Scream franchise or if you are watching something from the Scary Movie franchise. The whole movie within a movie within a movie schtick doesn’t work quite as well with this one. More details here:

I have alot of things to say about Scream 3 and I am very sorry to say that none of those things are good at all. Alright here goes. 1.The acting was bad and I didn’t feel there was any character development. 2.The kills fucking sucked they were very poorly executed. 3.The Ghostface Killer was Sidney’s long lost evil twin brother or some shit. I didnt like that. That’s it don’t see this movie skip right to Scream 4.

Plenty of effort went into making “Scream 3″. Wes Craven would be my first choice – or at least one of them – when it comes to the slasher genre and who I like working in that field. Craven is skilled at making these films, even when some of them take a turn for the joylessly silly. Yes, Craven is the director behind “Scream 3″, just as he was for the first three films, with the only real difference being a change of writer; Ehren Kruger fills in the shoes of Kevin Williamson. I did not think that this would make so much of a difference, but did it ever. Williamson was clearly well-read and self-educated when it came to horror and slasher cinema, and out of his knowledge, he was able to craft funny, intelligent, playful screenplays for good ol’ Wes. However, Kruger is not quite as talented. There aren’t enough laughs or extended scenes of well-written and witty dialogue here to keep die-hard fans of the series hooked. Some might enjoy it because Craven still takes over as the creative mastermind behind every gutting, stabbing, and stalking; but common criticism and the rules that accompany it are telling me that “Scream 3″ just doesn’t work. It may have a few good scenes – that I am sure of – but it needs something more, and the screenwriter isn’t able to put most things into place.

So it’s the concluding chapter of the “Scream” trilogy (or is it?). Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now working as a crisis intervention counselor; deep into seclusion, attempting to forget or deny her rough past. She’s lost a few boyfriends, a few friends, a few family members; many people have been stabbed by the infamous Ghostface in the course of these three films. The “rules” have not changed at all since “Scream 2″, but the story sure has. As with the other two installments, the third chapter of this epic saga opens with a highly entertaining and creative sequence in which an important (or un-important) character is harassed and brutally slaughtered by the series’ signature killer. The two victims are Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber), the falsely convicted man who was proven innocent at the end of “Scream” and given characterization by the time the sequel had begun, as well as his girlfriend. This triggers the gun to fire; the race is on.

The film also means the return of nigh-pathetic cop Dewey (David Arquette) and his love interest, the news lady Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox). Both are investigating the killings of the film, most of which, this time around, center on the third installment of the in-movie “Stab” film franchise; which seems to be a killer new addition. Members of the cast are killed off one-by-one, and there are some genuinely amusing new faces to be found here among them. I won’t spoil too many of them for you, and as far as story goes, that’s as far as I’ll take it and as much as I will say.

You know what to expect out of these films. They are satirizations of the slasher films from the 80′s, 90′s, and now. They unfold like those films do and sort of poke fun at the conventions and clichés that we are expected to remember from such movies. That’s fun and all, but “Scream 3″ seems more like a test of my patience than a good time. The satire seems to have worn off, and the clichés that these films are supposed to be SPOOFING are alas catching up with the franchise. “Scream 3″ is not a complete failure, but it is most certainly a hell of a disappointing and mediocre way to end a trilogy. At least they have recently released a “Scream 4″, which I hear is bigger, better, bloodier, and more polished. I wonder what I’ll make of it.

To speak of the more positive aspects of the film, I think I’ll mention some of the scenes that I liked. My absolute favorite scene involved the character of Gale walking out of a film studio and running into the popular Jay and Silent Bob characters. If you don’t know who those lovable pot-smoking dudes from Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” (Smith also portrays Silent Bob) are, then this scene will mean nothing; but I’m a fan of Smith’s…better works, and this scene stuck out. Another good scene involved one of the actresses from the “Stab 3″ film hiding amongst several Ghostface production costumes from a killer dressed in the same exact mask, gloves, and cloak. In fact, any scene in the film involving the study of the in-movie production was rather entertaining; but unfortunately, it’s still not enough to impress. There are several inspired moments, and the film is well-acted and well-played, but for the true fans of this franchise, it’s a bumpy and surprisingly, rather boring ride.
