A gripping, highly interesting and even a bit disturbing black-and-white low-budget exploitation classic that took me totally by surprise as it turned out to be completely different from what I expected.
(I expected some kinda dumb violence-fest but actually, it’s a fine little psycho-thriller).

The whole movie takes place in broad daylight and in real time – 2 excellent ideas, brilliantly executed.
Arch Hall Jr. and Marilyn Manning’s performances are mindblowingly awesome, and their insane characters are IMO 2 of the most fascinating villains in movie history. The rest of the cast is also quite good and believable.
The bleak junkyard/desert settings look terrific and Oscar winner Vilmos Zsigmond’s camera work is fantastic.

Ok, in the middle it’s often way too tedious, lengthy and slow, but hey,
at least in the first third it’s extremely thrilling and tense, and the last third is just packed with great action and super-suspenseful scenes.
    Overall, a really great film!
