This is a movie everyone needs to see, this movie is light hearted and very very fun. If you do not enjoy this movie you are probably lying and deep down inside you really liked it XD. Even though this is a PG horror movie it still works perfectly, this wasn’t meant to be a balls out gore feast or anything, but it is pretty gory for PG, it is supposed to be a fun children’s ride. I recommend this movie to everyone especially if you want a fun and enjoyable experience. 8/10

    Fantastic!

This movie rocks and rolls with the best of them. It ranges from belly-laugh inducing comedy to spine-chilling terror, often within the same few frames.

It’s a great great film. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and pick it up. But before you enjoy it; turn on all the lights, open all the closets and check under all the beds. Because you never can tell. You just might have a gremlin in your house…

Played more for laughs than screams this one could still scare some little ones. Regardless, this is a classic, they don’t get more fun than this! Perfect Holiday horror family flick, really!

A pure gem of a film. Sits along side Ghostbusters as one of the best 80′s family/scare films. A flawless mix of laughs, gore and scares. If you haven’t seen this you don’t deserve to live. The sequel is on par with this as well. A true classic.

One of my favorite classics I’ve ever seen. 80′s at its finest.

Good family horror movie from the 80s. The plot is simple, and the premise is fun and a little spookie so everyone can enjoy it without being scared :-)

The movie has a great 80s feel, where the screen is always filled with unnecessary things in the background (posters, toys, random things going on) and with fun side-characters.

The biggest flaw in this movie is that the movie is extremely predictable in every way. That is also why this movie is just good, and not great.

stupid and kinda pointless its very easy to hide behind the fact “it was an 80′s film” but thats no excuse the film is still poor as hell

Maybe not the scariest movie but a classic creature feature like flick that many horror fans like myself were introduced to as young children.

This Movie is different a Classic its also a Masterpiece & an Epic Movie in its own right, it gorey, scary, creepy, errie, dark, odd, coool, cute, sweet & somewhat Heart-warming, but also really funny Movie. Gizmo is the most sweet & cute little Gremlins ever it well mastered & created really well for a low buget Movie its the best early 80′s (1984) Horror, Fantasy & Comedy Movie ever made and is a favourtie in are House-hold. (on give it a 7/10 for the Horror, but would be a 9/10 or 10/10 at over sites I use)

This has to be one of the most bizarre Christmas Comedy/Horror films to date.

I still have a hard time seeing the name “Speilberg” on it too. It’s a film that cane be a little TO dark to be a family film. It came out before the PG-13 rating was created so it had to either be a PG or R. But a film with the name “Speilberg” under it’s title will never hold an R rating. Thus it was truly this movie that the PG-13 rating was created and now have to this day. Given that it was rated PG, it was a complete shock to the public during it’s first release when lots of young children were taken to see it. No one knew what was in store until it was to late.

It’s an immediate classic. No question about that! The mood of the movie is both warm, silly, and quite often DARK. For being a family Christmas film a lot of people die. I mean a lot! It’s truly a must see film and is a lot of fun! (8/10)

I remember even having a small Gizmo animal as a young child. I wonder what became of it?

I love this movie. I saw it when I was a kid and I still like to watch it every once in a while. It’s one of those movies that is great to let your kids watch as a first experience with the Horror genre. Gremlins is one of the only movies I’ve seen that makes people laugh, cry, and scream.

You’d have to be a damn dreary person not to enjoy Joe Dante’s cult classic “Gremlins”. It’s not a spectacular film, by any means, but it has enough charm and good-natured filmmaking to prove satisfying. Not a “horror film” per se, but…well, I just don’t know what the thing is. It’s campy horror if it’s horror at all, but then again, that IS the genre that most people place it under.

As one of those movies that deals with little demonic denizens walking streets and killing people, “Gremlins” does its job better than most. The problem starts with a cute little critter called a Mogwai, which is given to a kid by his dad as a Christmas present. Kid names the fur-ball Gizmo. There’s rules that come with the little guy: one of them being DON’T GET HIM WET. And Gizmo does get wet, and soon, more Mogwais are born. But they’re meaner than Gizmo is; more aggressive and evil. And if they eat enough, they evolve into even worse critters: gremlins.

I’m not a big fan of Joe Dante’s directorial work, but this is him at his finest. It’s corny, affectionate, and it feels RIGHT, which is always genuinely good. Think of it like “Child’s Play”; a good movie and a charming one, just not quite a great one. But man, Gizmo is cute-as-hell! You just can’t resist a little fur-ball like that. You just…can’t.

a perfect horror comedy in league with evil dead, braindead, bad taste, shaun of the dead, etc.
much more kid friendly than all of them but no less edgy.
    improves with repeat viewing.

Everything about this movie is good. FACT. This movie is CLASSIC of the 80′s, a classic of Stephen Speilberg, and a classic of Horror/comedy! I loved it when I was a little kid, and I still love it now!

A monster movie that begins like a kids movie, and ends as a black horror comedy full of blood and melting Gremlins. So if you wanna show this movie to your kids, maybe just show them the first 20 minutes ;)
