Kristoffer Aaron Morgan’s Old Folks ‘Home’ Fills Up

Some incredible news fluttered in our ear as we’ve confirmed that Louise Fletcher (Flowers in the Attic, Exorcist II, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Louis Gossett Jr. (Enemy Mine, The Invaders, Jaws 3D), Edward Asner (Up, “The Mod Squad,” “The Invaders,” “Mission: Impossible”), and Nicole Flannigan Fionnula Flanagan (“Lost,” The Others) are all signed on to star inKristoffer Aaron Morgan’s H.P. Lovecraftian The Home, which was penned by both Morgan and AICN writer Eric Vespe. It’s also worth noting that Brian Cox (Red, Rise of the Apes, Trick ‘r Treat) and Cloris Leachman (Young Frankenstein, Lake Placid 2, Scary Movie 2) are both in discussions. Talk about an astounding cast. There are a few other names being tossed around that will knock your socks off, but it’s a bit premature to reveal. The Home unfolds after a young man is nearly killed during a horrible accident that leaves him physically and emotionally scarred. To recuperate, he is taken to a secluded nursing home where the elderly residents appear to be suffering from delusions. But after witnessing a violent attack, he soon realizes that the screams behind the walls are caused by more than hallucinations, and the residents are being preyed upon by twisted, monstrous nightmares that lurk within the home itself. A Taste of Bruce Campbell’s New Commentary for ‘The Evil Dead’ on Blu-ray!

Easily one of the most requested titles for Blu-ray from Anchor Bay Entertainment’s unparalleled library of horror films, Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult classic The Evil Dead will officially make its high definition debut on August 31st with The Evil Dead Blu-ray. For the release, two all-new 1080p anamorphic transfers in 1.85 and the original director-composed 1.33 aspect ratio, have been prepared and personally supervised by director/writer Raimi, presented in high-resolution Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio, as well as a brand new commentary track with Raimi, producer Robert Tapert and star Bruce “Ash” Campbell! In addition, many of the bonus features, released on previous DVD editions, will once again be available on a special, limited edition DVD included with the Blu-ray. MGM/Sony Preps ‘Poltergeist: In the Shadows’ For Theaters

Michael Grais, writer or Poltergeist and co-writer of Poltergeist II : The Other Side, is rumored to be penning the next “Poltergeist” film, according to Moviehole.net. Now titled Poltergeist: In the Shadows, sources tell the website that it’s in the “early stages of development right now.” the film will now not be a remake or based on the original sequel, Kayeri. The film will be prepped as a theatrical release, and isn’t intended to be one of MGM’s direct-to-video sequels (of which they’re doing quite a few, at the moment).
