‘Taxidermia’ is a very complicated piece of art. There are parts of the film where I just sat in awe; whoever directed the camera work was a genius.

As for it being “bloody and disgusting”? Well, it’s not very bloody, I’ll give you that. However, it almost made me vomit. Sadly, I decided to watch this film while I ate. After about two bites, I was finished. I couldn’t eat anymore. My appetite died as the movie ended. Bad idea was bad.

I do, however, understand why people would dislike this film. It is very disturbing, confusing, and odd movie. I had trouble following the gist, and at the end, I thought, “What the hell just happened?”. Depending on your personal taste, that is either a good or bad thing. For me? It made the film much more intriguing and, overall, worth the duration it went for.

And, for it’s artistic value alone, it deserves a rental (at least). But, if I were you, I wouldn’t eat while watching…

Not really a horror movie, but sure one of the weirdest and most disturbing films I’ve ever seen. You like penises that begin to burn whilst masturbating, speed-eaters vomiting almost endlessly, giant house cats eating their overweight masters? Well, then this is the movie for you. A gross and bizarre but also intelligent and impressive work of art with amazing cinematography, awesome acting and a great soundtrack.

Not everything i expected, with respect to the film, i was more excited before seeing it, and afterward felt a bit let down. Aside from that, the film is definitely interesting. I liked the three stories, through the three generations, but i always felt things were left out, and that things moved forward in time to quickly. And i love the obvious european angle on sex in film ,as opposed to mostly violence as Americans know it. I think we should follow the lead of the Europeans personally.

This is a very hard film to rate, but I’ve decided to give it 1 skull. It’s the most bizzare, weird, strange, unusual film I have ever seen, you can’t say “I’ve seen it all” until you’ve seen Taxidermia! The first story I found extremely unusual and disturbing in a way. It’s basically about a man and his penis, there is no story to it, he can shoot fire out of it and stuff like that, it’s just a load of graphic scenes with his penis, very uninspiring but highly different. The next story I consider to be the worst, it’s the least different and unusual of the lot, it’s about a man who can eat and a woman who can eat. Again there’s no story to it and it’s basically scenes of watching him eat and then watching him puke for ages! And the final story is highly disturbing and left me feeling quite unnerved. I don’t want to spoil it so I won’t say too much about it. It’s basically about a lonely taxidermist caring for his really, really, REALLY fat father and his big cats. This story is very strange and makes no sense but that’s what makes it so disturbing, the final shot will leave you with genuine chills. So although I’ve given it 1 skull, I don’t regret watching it, in fact, I’m glad i did! It’s so bad and so bizarre it makes you want to keep watching. It’s not boring either. Please don’t hesitate to watch it if your keen to but for too many, it will be far too weird! I don’t know if I like it or not, but I don’t think I do.

I was expecting so much more than there was. Yes, it was kind of a weird movie, but it wasn’t compelling at all. I kind of felt bad through the entire last 1/3 for the final character, but that’s about it. Definitely weird, but not in a make-it-a-great-movie kind of way.

Holy. Shit. Move over Cannibal Holocaust, Martyrs, and Antichrist… we may have a new contender for most disgusting movie of all time… Irriversable and Inside, you move over too, it needs it’s room. It’s very girthy.

This movie was so damn bad. I had no idea what the he’ll they were talking about half the time. And the only thing shocking about this movie is how long I wantched it before I decided to skip through it. Horrible horrible movie and I am shocked everyone likes it. To each their own but somone has to also tell people how incredibly bad it could be…. And it’s bad….. Confusing, boring….. Period

I would say the last 30 minutes are pretty crazy and this film is gross totally the story line is weird too, I give this a rate of 2 but that is being very giving at most. I would only rent this not buy it at all, its not worth it unless your really weird that is for sure.

Begins with a man doing strange things with a tea-light candle. A man is drilled on his duties while attempting to wash his penis. I’m not sure who/where these people are, but all their conversations are very genital-centric. A man fucks a hole in the wall whilst watching young girls have a snowball fight, until a chicken pecks at his dick. Flamecock. Now we are in a pop-up book. THIS i can get behind. Hold that thought, here comes pedophilia and fresh pig guts. Dead pig-fucking. Pan’s Labyrinth…the Harmony Korine cut. Ahh, they cut off that poor baby’s tail. Now we are with different group of characters at a soup-eating contest. Introduced to a kid who is really efficient at eating pudding. I’m starting to feel ill. I may actually prefer the pedophile pig-fucker part of the movie. Damn. Bird asshole transition shot. Now onto the taxidermist. Kitties eat his fat dad, so he stuffs him. Cannibal Holocaust directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet. A gross, worthwhile film. Maybe re-watch in 2017 (on an empty stomach)

Official Score: 3.5 / 5
