Set Report: John Landis Produced ‘Some Guy Who Kills People’!

It wasn’t fair, really. Here I was, seconds away from making my big debut in a feature film, and the snot just wouldn’t stop coming. Not to mention the fact that I was shaking like a wet dog, not only on account of the cold (which I also blame for the endless snot flow) but from sheer, unadulterated terror. At that moment I couldn’t help but wonder how exactly I’d ended up here, at this drive-in movie theater in the City of Industry (one of only two drive-ins remaining in the L.A./Orange county vicinity, in case you care), freezing my balls off and taking photos of a “dead guy” in a dumpster while a dolly-mounted movie camera captured my every move… (more…) READ MORE

SXSW ’10: The Creatures Cannot Be Contained in ‘Monsters’

The one film I’m dying to see at this month’s SXSW Film Festival is Gareth Edwards’ Monsters, the latest genre effort from UK distributor Vertigo Films (the company behind The Children and Bronson). Details have been extremely vague teasing aliens and infection. We did a little digging and finally discovered a detail heavy synopsis. Check it out inside and watch for our reviews from the fest. Pang Brothers Plan 3-D Eye Sequel, ‘The Child’s Eye’

Before the Asian horror craze made its way overseas, I found myself obsessed with a little Thai film by the name The Eye (or Gin gwai). Directed by the Pang brothers (who also blew my mind with their indie film Bangkok Dangerous), the supernatural ghost story had earned a special place in my heart. Too bad none of the sequels achieved the same. This morning Production Weekly reports that the Pang brothers are back again with another planned sequel, this time the gimmick is that it’ll be filmed in 3-D. Titled The Child’s Eye, Elanne Kwong & Rainie Young have been cast. No other details have been revealed. (more…) READ MORE
