William Brent Bell, who will see his Brahms: The Boy II open in theaters this weekend, is already in post-production on his next horror story, Separation, which stars Rupert Friend (“Homeland”), Autopsy of Jane Doe‘s Brian Cox and Cam‘s Madeline Brewer.
In the film, a young girl finds solace in her artist father and the ghost of her dead mother.
When announced, THR wrote that the story is said to be a contemporary supernatural thriller that explores the terrifying consequences of divorce like no film before, taking a page from Kramer vs. Kramer as well as The Sixth Sense and Mama. Nick Amadeus and Joshua Braun wrote the screenplay.
“[The script] blends emotional, relatable family drama with edge-of-your-seat scares,” said Bell at the time.
Separation is produced by Bell alongside Yale Prods.’ Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, Russ Posternak and Jesse Korman as well as RainMaker’s Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser. Executive producers are Seth Posternak and Dennis Rice. Jon Keeyes is co-producing.
