The Great ‘Robot Jox’ Getting Blu-ray Release!!!
Finally something that I’ve been begging for!
Prepare for battle when Scream Factory! unleashes Start Gordon’s awesome 1990 Robot Jox on Blu-ray next summer!
The film, which I actually saw in theaters(!), “follows Achilles, one of the “robot jox” who pilot giant mechanical machines that fight international battles to settle territorial disputes in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world. It is post-World War III. War is outlawed. In its place, are matches between large Robots called Robot Jox. These matches take place between two large superpowers over disputed territories. The main character Achilles is a pilot in one of the large Robots. The plot revolves around him and a match for the state of Alaska.”
Gary Graham, Anne-Marie Johnson, and Paul Koslo star in the film that was actually shot in 1987 but delayed due to Charles Band’s Empire Pictures going bankrupt.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
