“Scream”: Hi-Res Look At Ghostface Is Killer!
When I shared the first look at the Ghostface mask from MTV’s forthcoming “Scream” series, I thought that it had a very low-resolution quality to it, almost like it was a screengrab off a computer screen or something.
I got in touch with MTV and was able to get our hands on a hi-res version of the mask, which makes a huge difference. Seriously.
Below we have a beautiful, clean, HD look at the new Ghostface set to appear on the series when it premieres June 30th. You can really see all of the contours and details that were lost in the original, compressed image. I’m digging it way more. You guys?

“The new mask is cool and scary and takes the series into a new direction,” Craven said of the mask earlier this week. “It also ties into the story, which I won’t give away.”
I’ve been trying to crack the case of the missing “fleshy” look and shared this bizarre theory.
In “Scream,” “When Nina, a gorgeous entitled teen at Lakewood High School, is murdered in an apparent crime of passion, it exposes the inner workings of the town’s complex social hierarchy. After Audrey, a young artistic loner, is “outed” via cyberbullying, she has to find a way to hold her head up high with the help of Noah, her nerdy, hyper-intelligent best friend, and a renewed relationship with Emma, her former “bestie” from elementary school. In the meantime, Emma’s mom, Maggie (the town’s medical examiner) works with the town’s sheriff, Clark, to solve the murder and determine if it’s connected to a crime spree from the town’s dark past — a murder spree committed by a previous generation’s “bullying victim” Brandon James.”
Willa Fitzgerald, Taylor-Klaus, Bobby Campo, Connor Weil and Joel Gretsch star in the new “Scream,” inspired by Wes Craven’s film series.

‘A Man in the Woods With an Axe’ – First Look at ’80s Throwback Slasher [Exclusive]
We have an exclusive first look at A Man in the Woods With an Axe, a blood-soaked, genre-twisting homage to 1980s slasher films.
Spanning four decades, A Man in the Woods With an Axe begins in the summer of 1987 before pushing into the modern era, weaving together timelines and perspectives in a way that builds both dread and intrigue.
Drawing inspiration from genre standouts like Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Hatchet, and The Cabin in the Woods, the film blends visceral horror with moments of dark humor, creating a uniquely balanced experience that honors tradition while carving its own identity.
Writer-director Dillon Brown (Primal Darkness) aims to deliver everything fans crave from a slasher while boldly subverting expectations with a mid-film twist that redefines the story.
“This is an unapologetic love letter to the films that made me fall in love with horror,” Brown tells Bloody Disgusting. “But I didn’t just want to recreate that feeling; I wanted to challenge it. About halfway through, the film takes a turn that completely changes how you view not only this story, but the genre itself.”
Brown describes the vintage-inspired production as “far and away the bloodiest film I’ve ever made,” with practical effects helmed by Cody Ruch (The Mill, Pig Hill), an instructor at Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program.
From Horror Dadz Productions, A Man in the Woods With an Axe is currently in production and targeting an early 2027 release.
