The New ‘Ghostbusters’ Gals Pose In Full Costume!

Director Paul Feig just responded to last night’s leaked Ghostbusters set photo with one of his own – and it’s a slam dunk.

Here’s a look at your all-new, all-ladies ghost-busting crew that includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. The photo shows them all in full ‘busting gear, including their proton packs and alongside the Ecto-1. I absolutely love McKinnon’s “Egon” look that gives serious, serious homage to “The Real Ghostbusters” cartoon we all grew up on.

Last week it was revealed that Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan have been cast alongside Chris Hemsworth in Feig’s Ghostbusters.

“SNL” vet Neil Casey recently landed the lead villain role. He is rumored to play the ghost of a murderer (sort of like Wes Craven’s Shocker, actually) who resurrects a ghost army based on historical characters.

BirthMoviesDeath adds the following information about the role, which included a ghostly T-Rex (no joke).

The part I’m assuming Casey is playing is Rowan Elgin, a role written for Peter Dinklage. Elgin is a troll who spends his days antagonizing a call-in radio advice doctor as well as working on a secret machine. That machine is placed beneath the Chrysler Building to tear open a hole in reality and begin an invasion. There are ghost T-Rexs, a Times Square magically returned to the porno days and eventually a giant horned demon.

The full plot details have been revealed here.

The busting begins on July 15, 2016.

Dead Mail SXSW Dead Mail interview

One of the genre films we’re looking forward to checking out at SXSW this year is Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy and premiering on March 9.

Meagan Navarro will be reviewing Dead Mail for Bloody Disgusting as part of her SXSW coverage, and she writes in her preview for the upcoming fest: “Dead Mail leans heavily into the ’80s analog aesthetic, delivering a unique crime thriller unafraid to get offbeat with its dark narrative. Expect its characters to be as atypical as Dead Mail‘s sense of style.”

In the SXSW 2024 horror film…

“On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives.

“When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it…”

Sterling Macer, Jr., John Fleck, Susan Priver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman star in Dead Mail. Preview the film with an exclusive image gallery below.
