Rings, latest sequel to The Ring, the U.S. remake of Hideo Nakata’s J-horror Ringu, isn’t crawling out of screens until October 28, 2016.

“The Big Bang Theory’s” Johnny Galecki plays Gabriel, a handsome, pleasure-seeking professor who mentors and helps boyfriend and girlfriend duo, Holt (Alex Roe) and Julia (Matilda Lutz). Scream 4‘s Aimee Teegarden rounds out the main cast.

What we never found out is who would be playing Samara Morgan, the girl whose spirit haunts the cursed videocassette.

Daveigh Chase played Samara in the 2002 The Ring, while Kelly Stables is credited as portraying the entity in the 2005 The Ring Two.

A decade later, it’s obvious that another young actress would be covering her face with black hair, but who?

The iMBD has uncovered the mystery and it’s sort of surprising.

A series of behind-the-scenes photos have been upload that show Bonnie Morgan as Samara climbing out of a well with a greenscreen in the background.

Morgan has been in a wide array of genre films from The Devil Inside to The Last Witch Hunter, Hellboy II, Piranha 3D and even the Fright Night remake.

Her most notable of roles? Samara Morgan in The Ring Two. Yes, she’s uncredited, but was definitely an integral part of the sequel.

Now that the mystery is solved, and there are some cool images to go along with the news, we just have to wait for Paramount to curse us all with the official trailer and poster.

And for those wondering if Rings ties to the previous films, the original video will once again play as a device to Samara’s curse.

Matilda Firth Joins the Cast of Director Leigh Whannell’s ‘Wolf Man’ Movie

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
