Clips From ‘A Monster Calls’ Range From Emotional to Destructive

A MONSTER CALLS

I have yet to see the film, but Kalyn says The Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona’s A Monster Calls is “a heartfelt coming-of-age fairytale.”

These three clips give us a look inside the emotional genre film that’s based on the award-winning children’s fantasy novel. In it, “12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.

Focus had originally slated the film for release in October but has since pushed it into “Award Season” with plans for a limited top 10 city run on December 23rd before going wide on January 6th.

Lewis MacDougall, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, Liam Neeson, and Sigourney Weaver all star.
