“Evil must be thy only happiness.”
James Franco co-directed (with Pamela Romanowsky), produced, and stars in Momentum Pictures’ The Institute, being released on March 3rd, 2017 in theaters and on VOD. Today we’ve been provided with the trailer, and it teases a bit of a different turn for Franco. Rather than being the funny guy, he looks to be tapping into his evil side, prescribing pain as a sinister doctor.
He also totally looks like Edgar Allan Poe, which seems quite intentional.
Check out the trailer below.
Set in 19th century Baltimore, The Institute tells the story of Isabel Porter (Allie Gallerani) who, stricken with grief from her parents’ untimely death, voluntarily checks herself into the Rosewood Institute. Subjected to bizarre and increasingly violent pseudo-scientific experiments in personality modification, brainwashing and mind control, she must escape the clutches of the Rosewood and exact her revenge, or else be forever lost.
Joe Pease, Scott Haze, Lori Singer, Tim Blake Nelson, and Josh Duhamel also star.
Adam and Matt Rager wrote the script.
