The Graboids Get Weaponized in ‘Tremors 6’

Tremors 5

Remember when Universal Pictures nearly weaponized dinosaurs in Jurassic Park? Now they’re doing so with the massive Graboids in the next Tremors.

Intrepid creature hunter Burt Gummer and his son Travis find themselves in a remote hotbed of giant man-eating worms in the newest action-packed entry in the wildly popular Tremors franchise. Currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa, this outrageous horror comedy finds the pair at a remote research station where they come under attack by what Burt fears could be weaponized Graboids!

Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the artic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!

Tremors 6 will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD in 2018 from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

“This is going to be the craziest, most over-the-top movie in the Tremors saga to date,” said Glenn Ross, general manager and executive vice president, Universal 1440 Entertainment. “It takes the franchise’s signature combination of suspense, action and humor to new explosive heights.”

Michael Gross (“Family Ties,” Tremors franchise) and Jamie Kennedy (“The Cleveland Show,” Screamfranchise) return as Burt Gummer and Travis Welker, joined by franchise newcomers Tanya van Graan (Death Race: InfernoZulu), Rob van Vuuren (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom) and Greg Kriek (Momentum).

Tremors 6 is directed by Don Michael Paul (Sniper: LegacyTremors 5: Bloodlines) from a script by John Whelpley (Tremors 5: Bloodlines, “Dallas”). The film is produced by Mike Elliot (Kindergarten Cop 2Halloween II). The director of photography is Hein de Vos (District 9Dominion).

  • That plot sounds bonkers enough to have caught attention.

I have a feeling it might be a lot more fun than the TV series. I guess we’ll find out!

From what I understood the film is happening in Africa and later in Canada, and we have armed recordings, that someone put up something with these graboids? It is?

This souds a bit silly… Even for Tremors! Hope I’m wrong, tho.
Piece of trivia: Here in Brazil, Tremors is called “Attack of the Damn Worms”
90’s trash titles at it’s best!

LOL! It kind of sounds a little like Crank with Tremors. TBH, my favorite Tremor movies are 2-5. The 1st one is my least favorite and was never a huge fan except for every part Burt was in along with Mrs. Gummer. They made the first movie. That’s why the sequels are so good is because of Burt! Not sure if the series is still happening but Michael Gross kept Tremors alive and well for Bacon to have his series. I won’t watch it without Burt! He rules!

I always enjoyed it but never understand why it is not going to a big screen in the movie theatre. Oh well.

no reason to complain these movies are aimed at B-monster movie fans, so it is all in good fun. I think in one of the episodes of the show they tried to use the shrikers are military weapons but it back fired.
