I love Lizzy Caplan and I love aliens, so I’m sold.

  • Abandoned_Being

Haven’t we been here before with these types of storyline for a movie? Hollywood really has gotten lazy and uncreative.

    • ElGigante

It’s not just a tired movie storyline, it’s the story for the first alien invasion story, The War of the Worlds. The Narrator in the book’s motivation is getting back to his wife.

      • Red Right Return

Comic books are tired storylines too but the movies keep being made. Seriously, if you don’t like alien invasion movies just watch something else. I happen to love them.

    • Satanzilla

Boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. It’s called a genre. It’s what Hollywood (and basically every other film industry) is based on.

If people didn’t like it they wouldn’t go to the movies but people do like it and they do go to the movies.

  • Grimphantom

Nice to see Lizzy again i really like her but i do agree with Abandoned where we already seen the whole Alien invasion before…….many times…

    • Red Right Return

So? We’ve also seen comic book movies many times. Doesn’t mean we don’t want more. I happen to like alien invasion movies.

      • Grimphantom

Name one good alien invasion recently.

        • Red Right Return

So, let me get this straight. Because you don’t think there are any good alien invasion movies, they shouldn’t make them? No thanks, I’m not playing that game.

          • Grimphantom

So it’s a no? There’s Cloverfield Lane even tho it was at the end.

            There’s Independence Day…..oh wait….The 5th Wave!……wait, it didn’t do that good either……

          • Red Right Return

Keep trying. It won’t change the fact that I don’t give a rat’s arse if you don’t like alien invasion flicks and I do. Keep them coming I say.

          • Grimphantom

It just proves my point lol.

          • Red Right Return

It doesn’t prove anything except that you don’t like a certain kind of movie and I do. You even posted a good one, 10 Cloverfield Lane. How about this – what kind of horror movies do you like? Please say the title of a torture porn flick so I can laugh.

          • Grimphantom

But you didn’t said anything about it so where your so call defense on the genre. If you like tentacle rape that’s your business, i don’t where it went from Alien Invasion to Torture porn lol

          • Red Right Return

OK now you are making no sense and are going to a sick place. Long live alien invasion movies. Expect me to show up and rub them in your face whenever they post about them. 🙂

          • Grimphantom

Uhh i didn’t brought “Torture Porn” to the subject…..

Sure whatever, pal. Not stopping you for watching them lol.

          • Red Right Return

No you brought rape and tentacles into it.

          • Grimphantom

Yet you brought on the subject first so…..

          • Red Right Return

If you have no idea what torture porn is you are on the wrong site, so…

          • Grimphantom

Well i don’t know about torture porn but you do seem to know more about it since you did brought it up.

          • Red Right Return

You don’t know what genre of horror film torture porn is???

          • Grimphantom

If i knew i would’ve like it but since i’m unfamiliar where unlike you do seem to know more about it

          • Red Right Return

Movies where torture and gore are really the focus and not supernatural or scary. Example of torture porn is SAW or any of its clones. To me, those are garbage, but hey every fan has a right to their opinion. Mine, I like movies about aliens, especially Alien the movie. It was one of the most frightening movies of my childhood.

          • Grimphantom

Nah of course not, i’m not into movies like Saw or what was the other movie…..Oh yeah Hostel!

I think we went to different road my friend since you said Alien invasion i do mean movies like World of the Words, Battle Los Angeles, Independence Day those type of movies but movies like Aliens or Predator i like to see more of them…..of course if they are done right like The Thing where would be good if they try making another movie but this time being more creative with the writing and special effects……especially the last one.

          • Red Right Return

Alright then. Common ground. I agree with everything you said. The Thing is my favorite horror of all time, followed by Alien. Looking forward to The Void.

  • john

The Cloverfield monster is not an alien– not in the traditional Outer Space sense, anyway.

It’s from the sea. From the filmmakers mouths.

    • Evan3

Wouldn’t this be completely refuted by the events in 10 Cloverfield Lane? There was clearly a spaceship in that.

      • john

The aliens in 10 Cloverfield Lane are not the Cloverfield monster. So, no– it wouldn’t.

        • Evan3

So you are disputing that 10 cloverfield lane and cloverfield are related? Is it your contention that the movies are following wholly unrelated calamities (ie.. an earth-bound monster attacks the same time as aliens)

          • john

Well, for starters– they aren’t happening at the same time.

Secondly, where did I say they weren’t related?

The filmmakers said the Cloverfield monster was from the sea. The canon created around the films has him coming from the sea. Nothing in 10 Cloverfield Lane contradicted that.

  • One of the few deaths that Im still not over is her death in Cloverfield

    • Runciter

I so didn’t care about… Beth? I think. The one they were trying to save. I was just worrying about sweet little Lizzy during the movie.
