Modernizing trailers is a fun exercise in editing and sound technique, but I’m going to point out two things missing/wrong with this take on the trailer for Predator.
First, this interpretation is missing a handful of heavy bass drops, which are overly used in trailers today. Also, the score used in this echoes the one in Alien and Prometheus, only not as impactful as the thievery in the ones we see in theaters today.
Still, the concept is there, and it’s a fun take on John McTiernan’s 1987 classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a team of commandos on a mission in a Central American jungle who find themselves hunted by an extraterrestrial warrior.
