‘Ghost House’: This New Scout Taylor-Compton Horror Movie Looks Wild (Trailer)

Not because there’s an elephant in the trailer…

Our regular tipster, Fabien M., sent us over a trailer for Rich Ragsdale‘s supernatural horror Ghost House, which sends Halloween‘s Scout Taylor-Compton to Thailand for some frights.

In Ghost House, a young couple goes on an adventurous vacation to Thailand only to find themselves haunted by a malevolent spirit after naively disrespecting a Ghost House.

The trailer is pretty wild, carrying a J-horror vibe and boasting more than a handful of really cool scares. This should be a fun double feature next to Screen Media’s Temple.

It’s said to be releasing in limited theaters and on VOD August 25, 2017, via Vertical Entertainment,

Here’s the official synopsis:

A young couple, Jim and Julie, are vacationing in Thailand where Julie falls in love with photographing small shrines called“Ghost Houses” that are believed to give spirits shelter and comfort. A couple of British travelers take them into the countryside with the promise of showing Jim and Julie a ghost house graveyard where many of the shrines are discarded. After leaving the graveyard with a souvenir, Julie is increasingly plagued by visits from a malevolent spirit that threatens both her sanity and her life. After Julie is literally frozen in a state of terror, Jim must find a way to lift the curse before he loses Julie to the ghost world forever.

So is this another one of those remakes?

  • Hash-Slinging Slasher

Dear jackass producers: you’re lucky if I can find the time in my day to watch your stupid trailer. If, by the time I make it around to it, you take it down after getting free press, I will actively avoid it in the future for wasting the time it took to find out that the trailer was taken down. Fuck you.

I’m just getting around to seeing it to. Not here anymore. Alright fuck it.

    • Gray Michael

      Yeah. What the heck.

  • Micah Unice

Another trailer that divulges virtually all of the narrative beats.

Welp I saw the whole movie. So I saved myself the money. I’ll prob watch it anyways but I’m getting sick of all these stupid ass ghost movies. They are all the same shit, same scares, same stupid people doing stupid shit. Switch it up a bit for crying out loud.

      Yeah she’s juicy isn’t she?!

      • Kyle Cole

Yes!!! She’s great, especially in horror flicks!! And has a great set of lungs on her

I’ll watch this 2 weeks after I see Annabelle: Creation. Interesting that Film distributors are releasing solid horror films late Summer. I wonder what horror films will be released September-November.

I hate ghost movies (lame) but I do like STC

  • Lady Bathory

Looks enjoyable… nothing too out of the ordinary but a nice supernatural horror film. That, or the trailer just sucks and doesn’t do the film justice, as it happens a lot recently.

  • lupe

i wonder if the poster gives away the ending like that one movie

  • Matty Ice 2016

Halloween and Halloween 2 ruined this girls career ….Nice too see her in something …This looks like VOD rubbish to me though …

    • Yet both of those Rob Zombie films made people take major notice of her and it widely opened the door for a larger career for her,as well as introduced people to a new modern day Scream Queen alongside Danielle Harris.

    • Trent Owens

no Id say that horrible remake to april fools day is what ruined her career lol

  • Necro

Looks ok. I’m glad to see her in something else. Doesn’t she have another film coming out? ‘Feral’ or something like that?

  • AriesSiren

    Looks good. Love scout!

  • Halloween_Vic

This actually does look pretty creepy. I’m happy to see Scout return to horror and see her in more movies. Can’t wait to check this out.
